Thank you for sharing! I love these video biographies of artists and the way they are told, there’s so much for me to learn and put into practice on my own channel, where I compare different artists and their works. Thank you ❤
The ”walk on water” and the ”clean water system” were my favourites. So many depths and possible symbolic interpretations. The people crossing the water were beautiful to watch. I loved how she felt free because nobody cared about her work as a young artist. And how she felt a name or signature really doesn’t mean anything. ❤
She mentions working with a group of artists. I wonder if your channel has tried to find a group of artists to do a piece on. I realize its less "interesting" or maybe "intense" when you have multiple people to get to know in a short video but I would challenge you all to try. I keep thinking about the bauhaus. I'm currently going back to art school as an adult and I've always had this vision or dream to assemble artists to both collaborate and inspire with but also to work on their own thing "together" and I'd love to see how that works in a group where there is no one major name leading them. For instance I went to the contemporary building at the MFA in Houston to look for contemporary work and while I only scratched the surface of the 3rd floor the main piece that drew me the most was by Grupo Mondongo and while their “Polyptych of Buenos Aires” piece was already a complex trypdcht cabinet there was an additional complexity I sensed in it that drew me in before I realized multiple people created it together. Thank you for y'alls work regardless. I have been questioning if I can be an artist myself and seeing these interviews is challenging, motivating, and overwhelming at times with the amount of talent but seeing a human behind makes it all so much more approachable to me (especially when I go out online and see some of the most wonderously skillfully and imaginative works being posted every other day by people that may never get recognized)
Struggling to find any information about the installation shown at 3:43 titled "Untergeschoss" - not on the artist's website or anywhere online. Do you happen to know where this piece was exhibited?
I find it difficult to fully grasp some of the concepts she discusses for several reasons: 1. Freedom and liberty, as concepts, can only be approached philosophically. Philosophy suggests that true liberty means being a servant to philosophical inquiry, and if you think it through, this makes sense. 2. Historically, art has not always been free; it often becomes a prisoner of the collective consciousness of its time. 3. High-quality art should elevate the viewer through four components: thinking, sensing, feeling, and intuition. If art does not achieve this, it's hard to classify it as good art. 4. Nowadays, many artists seem to rely on superficial narratives. It's easy to create elaborate stories or abstract concepts that appear sophisticated, but those with a deeper awareness can often see through these pretensions. 5. Discussions about artistic projects rarely cover how they are financed. It would be interesting to examine how these ideas are funded and whether there is an assessment of their goodness or societal impact. Without these details, the full story is not told transparently, creating the illusion that all these ideas are successful. I have seen many spaces transformed by abstract concepts and intentions that the public does not fully understand, and they often go unnoticed. I have so many questions about this artist, who seems to be a lovely person with a kind soul. However, some of her art feels a bit underwhelming to me.
How sad that you are so busy gatekeeping what is woke and what isn’t that your mind is closed to this amazing work, and the depth of thought and experience that informs it.
rofl...how u even know that she has no idea, when she didnt talk about it hahaha...and calling it woke is the perfect cocktail umbrella on the shitpile of another rightwinger nothingburger
Art is inherently political, her art is political and she is talking about politics very specifically!! You might be criticising woke artists because you’re asleep!!
Amazing artist. So free!
Great job Louisiana Modern Art 📍👏🏼
A wise and wonderful human. She is an artist after my own heart. Thank you.

The only real freedom is spiritual freedom. Art as true freedom is a conceit of artists.
good thing she dont say anything about "politics", because she has no idea what she is talking about. as most "woke" artists :) but her work is nice.
She’s not a woke Artist! What do you know about art???
How sad that you are so busy gatekeeping what is woke and what isn’t that your mind is closed to this amazing work, and the depth of thought and experience that informs it.
@bxlisyesssss - my question, too. I wonder what such people would call someone who sleepwalks…🫥
