Rear seats are in the trash! Goose Gear platform install 3rd Gen Tacoma game changer for overlander

- In this video I do a complete rear seat delete of my third generation Toyota Tacoma and install both the 40% and 60% Goose Gear Platforms while retaining the Toyota Factory installed back panels. I am extremely impressed with quality of the Goose Gear products and the ease of which they went in. I have taken it on several adventures already and it has been a game changer especially when I take my dog Eleanor! (Please Note: I am not sponsored by goose gear and paid full price for the platform.)

Really cool..
Thanks, I wish I would have done it sooner!
Very nice set up
Thanks!
Thanks for the video! Did you add any sound deadening materials?
You are welcome! I added some 4mm EVA foam to the area where the storage box had been. I think it is actually quieter now then with the seats.
Military grade!
Yes it is!
When you moved them boxes they looked light, I guess I figured the goose gear used heavy panels, so is that system light weight? This would be great if so, I figured it was MDF board. Thanks
They are very light but very strong.
What's that net you have on your headliner?
It is the Blue Ridge Overland Gear's Tacoma Attic www.blueridgeoverlandgear.com/products/toyota-tacoma-attic
Wes, on the new Tacomas, you have the option of a 6 speed automatic or the conventional stick shift.
Being new to this overland trail stuff, what’s your thoughts? I would think messing with a clutch in rough terrain might get tough…. But I’m so new to this I’m just not sure.
I would go with an automatic transmission for an overland build. Yes a manual transmission can be better in some situations but for the other 99% of the time the automatic will be just as good while far more convenient to operate.
@@advfamily Thanks man, that’s where my brain was going as well, but better to ask someone’s that’s been doing it for a bit. Thanks again.
No problem
So you add a rear seat delete with storage and then put a bunch of crap on top of it so you can’t access the storage???? You should have saved yourself a crapload of money and put some plywood down…..seriously? How about a slider for that fridge????
Thanks for the feedback. I am very happy with the set up so far but who knows what the future will bring!
