I was an officer in regular air force, commissioned at USAFA, I tried to go to the reserves but the officer recruiters did not find me a unit in 2 years so I enlisted in the AF reserves. My asvab score was 88 so I went 1C6 and they made me a SSgt (E5)!
I’m just turned 33 and actively working with a recruiter to join as well. Consistently working out and preparing while I’m working temp jobs after being laid off for the 3rd time in 5 years. Really motivated to join because I am called to serve and to have job security for my wife and future kids. I also love how the airforce encourages continued education. What about green-cards who got their bachelors degree from abroad but wanted to get into OTS, Do they have to enlist before applying to OTS? And how long does it take for an enlistee with a prior bachelors degree to apply to OTS?
Do recruiters chase you up after first talking with them? Are you given time to think through about the decision after the first encounter with a recruiter?
