Hi Abbey I have super dry, eczema and rosacea prone skin that is always dehydrated. My moisture barrier is pretty much permanently impaired due to the eczema. I love Korean hydrating toners with ingredients like centella, propolis, green tea and snail for that deep hydration layered under serums, oils and creams to lock it in. There are so many alcohol and fragrance/EO free options to choose from. A few faves are: laneige cream skin refiner, cosrx propolis toner and snail filtrate essence, pyunkang yul essence toner, aqulabo kombucha toner and the t'iam vita b5 toner. A couple of Western option I enjoy are the geek and gorgeous hydrating panthenol toner and the FAB oat toner. Serums is where my active ingredients are and I use oils and cream for emollience and occlusives. I'm currently using the FAb ultra repair cream fyi during the day and the LRP lipikar balme at night.
It is important to differentiate between dehydration and dryness - although they often go together. I basically don't produce sebum anymore in my dry post menopausal skin, so that oil has to be replaced to have any chance of maintaining my skin barrier. My skin soaks up oils/creams in a way oily skin just wouldn't and loves numerous layers. The Korean seven skin method of layering a hydrating toner multiple times really works on my skin, as do sheet masks. A few faves are Benton centella sheet mask, Klairs soothing sheet mask and the Illyoon ceramide ato sheet mask - all of which are fragrance free and very gentle. The other Benton masks are fine as are some other fragrance free options, but these three are my personal top picks. Best wishes.

There are so many products mentioned in this video that I love and use daily! The Aveeno gel moisturizer is the perfect day time moisturizer for oily skin. I love the La Roche Posay B5 baume for my cheeks and upper chest and spot hydrating like elbows. That item as well as the CeraVe healing ointment are awesome medicine cabinet staples for skin issues. I prefer the healing ointment over Aquaphor. Also, the Eucerin hand cream has urea which is great for nail health.

Thanks for sharing! I wanted to share that I have oily dehydrated skin and found Elf's Jelly Moisturizer or Loreal's Water Gel Moisturizer are great for dehydrated skin since they are water based. My skin soaks it up and it does not make me oily. Oh also Wet n Wild's Rose Toner and Rose Primer Serum are great as well to use before makeup. Everything mentioned is super affordable to!

I know I'm a year late to this video, but the CeraVe Healing Ointment saved my skin this month. I use tretinoin, it's been cold and dry out and the furnace doesn't help. My face became very flaky and no matter how much moisturizer I was wearing, the flakes persisted. I watched some videos and many recommended the CeraVe ointment for my conditions. This ointment lifted off the flakes the very first night I applied it. Now I'm addicted to it. It feels so good. It's great for hands, too.

My fiance has normal skin and it's so frustrating! He can wash his face with body wash and not even use a moisturizer and his skin looks perfect. Like once a year he will get the smallest "pimple" ever. If you can even call it that. I have combo to more oily skin that's super acne prone and he just doesn't understand why I need a full on skin care regimen. I'm always like bae if I don't wash my face and use treatments and whatnot I'd be covered in painful cystic acne everywhere. He does help me with my back acne skincare though since he knows its difficult for me to reach. So that's super sweet. I'm trying to get him to at least do the basics. Like use a gentle face cleanser and a simple light weight moisturizer. Like the CerVa PM face lotion. He does work outside so after a few full on battles over sunscreen I won! He wears the biore rich watery essense. It's the only one he'll wear because it feels like nothing on the skin. I envy people with normal skin.

How do men have such good skin? My guy just lets the shampoo he uses on his hair "fall" down his face as he rinses his hair......that's literally all he uses for skin care! No moisturizer or anything. Just literally rinsed out shampoo running over his face and yet his skin is perfect. So unfair! Lol

Several years ago I damaged my skin to the point that filtered water burned.I was basically on a burn routine with waterless cleaning and occlusives galore.
Ever since then things haven't been the same.My barrier is stronger now but it is easier to disrupt it.

    • @spokenme08
      @spokenme08 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@meganfulford2780 Strengthening the skin barrier and treating the imbalance will help and issues caused by the disruption (I broke out everywhere, had texture issues, greasy but flaky skin) will diminish or vanish completely. However your skin is more sensitized now and you need to continue to treat it gently.
      Occlusives saved my skin.
I can use actives again but not as strongly or as often as I used to.
I've been on retinoids for almost 15 years, stupidly misusing them is one thing that caused my damge,so it didn't take my skin as long to use a lower strength. Add things back slowly.

Me to and my hands bleed from cracking once they are some what healed then they break open again just from opening my hands I have eczema on my hands only is what I've been told not totally sure never had it before until this past year sooo and it has gotten out of control I've tried several things that she mentioned in combination it has helped me a lot CeraVe on wet skin or hands after shower works miraculous but when bleeding like mine I put a bandaid on w Neosporin that comes on the bandaid prepackaged it's the only thing that works but also I got white cotton gloves online manicure gloves and sleep with the CeraVe or Neosporin ointment on them I'm still having issues but that my routine for now any other recommendations ? 🌻 I personally don't think I was diagnosed correctly with eczema I've never had it before in my life and it's only on my hands if anyone else sees this post it would be a lifesaver for some answers I've been to a few doctors I have to change out my Band-Aids like 10 times a day bc it's all over my hands, trying to get a follow-up now for another recommendation for a dermatologist

I bought the Aveeno calming gel cream and love it. And CeraVe is my favorite brand but haven't tried a few of their products you mentioned but will do so! You are always so thorough and informative, very much appreciated!

My sister-in-law uses the cicaplast Baume B5 for her son’s diaper rashes. He’s extremely sensitive and it’s the only thing that doesn’t cause sensitivity for him. If it’s sensitive enough for that I’m sure you can use it for your face 😂

What do you think of the ordinary hyaluronic acid + b5 with the ordinary moisturizing lotion as a humectant?

I really like Elf's Jelly Moisturizer or Loreals Water Gel Moisturizer for my acne/oily/dehydrated skin. They are really affordable and work great for dehydrated (not dry) skin

@gemma_xvi Neutrogena has really good hyaluronic gel cream products that hydrate well! I also just posted my skincare routine and I have acne and acne scars. Would love for you to check it out and hopefully some of the products can work for you. 🤗

Both Aveeno links go to the cleanser, not a moisturizer.

I think hyaluronic acid stings my skin😞 I’ve tried all of these cleansers, and they all sting. Vanicream doesn’t sting, but it’s a little too drying. Any other recommendations?

I have this same problem! I’m using vanicream rn and it doesn’t sting but it doesn’t feel moisturizing. And my skin barrier is messed up right now so I don’t know what else to try. Let me know if you find anything good!

@@haley916 I haven’t found anything yet, but I did stop washing my face with face wash in the morning. I just splash with water when I wake up and put on moisturizer. That’s helping quite a bit to rescue dryness.
