Amazing performance. my harpsichord teacher always told me 8me Ordre is the French baroque arrival point as matter of taste refinement and complexity, together with A suite by Rameau.
Have heard Ketil play this 8ème a number of times :) each time it is a total delight. Superb technical execution, and idiomatically expressive bar none. Obviously an extraordinary œuvre from F. C. in my mind his most important Ordre.....perhaps because I've heard it more, and much earlier in my life for the first time.......... and studied it........... In my thirty years recording recitals at the Yale Collection of Musical Instruments, this work was performed by various artists from time to time - here then, to me, is the summit of all those renditions! And I can say as a retired recording engineer as well as a harpsichord maker that the sound - including the "closeness" as well as the room tone - are first rate. The Zoom H6 incidentally is first rate - I use one for recitals here. Results equal what I obtained years ago from professional 10" Studer tape machines that I used to lug up the marble stairs at Yale - but without any "tape hiss". For this performance, Bravo KH! Je ne savais pas que vous étiez Français, Ketil! :)
Magnifique et toujours poétique avec un style parfait. ❤
Utterly amazing music. Where dd it come from and why did he never surpass it?
Thanks for sending divine wonderful music to my home. It makes my life brighter and more wonderful.
Articulate. Relaxed. Inspiring.
A treat for the senses.
