    Love the video! Hope you keep uploading. Nice to see a consistent PLC TH-camr, very rare compared to traditional type of programming. Hope me becoming a member helps a tiny bit to inspire you to keep going. Greetings from a young Automation Engineer in southern Skåne

    This worked great!!! I am now able to read and write registers to my MapleSystems HMI
    I do wish that the Opta would get some better documentation.

    Thanx for this, Jakob.
    I need to dig out the portenta pro from the drawer and play with it.
    This should be possible to do with MQTT as well, dont you think?

      Absolutely! Maybe a topic for a future video 😊

    The modbus organization is using "client-server" to describe Modbus communications, characterized by communication between client device(s), previously called master(s), which initiates communication and makes requests of server device(s), previously called slave(s), which process requests and return an appropriate response (or error message).

      I find master/slave easier to understand than client/server. I thought it would be server = master when I just watched the video.

    • @alexanderskusnov5119
      @alexanderskusnov5119 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a big mistake.
      1) master (one, starts) - slave (many, respond): Modbus
      2) client (many, starts) - server (one, respond): SQL servers, web-servers
      3) producer (many) - consumer (many): KNX, LON, CAN

      @@alexanderskusnov5119 there can be also many server, since Modbus TCP is a network protocol.

    Great video Jakob! Just one info. The minimum cycle time of the fast task is 10ms or it's possibile decrease the time? Thank you

    • @JakobSagatowski
      @JakobSagatowski  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Lorenzo! I talked about it in my other video about the Arduino. I tested it down to 1ms. I think it might go even lower than that!

      @@JakobSagatowski As far as you have been able to test so far, do you consider this plc a reliable system? It would be interesting to try it with electronic axes. Great work BTW 😉

    Can we make our Arduino plc hardware ourself ? Is the schematic available? Will be useful to do small projects

    Hi JakobSagatowski! Thank you for the amazing video, it has been very helpful, given there is no documentation and I am completely new to PLC. Unfortunetly, I get the same error as you (esi = -300) but rebooting the device just generates new error (esi = -324). I was wondering whether you can advise me on this error and how to fix it? I used your code letter for letter.

    Hello, do you hear about OpenPlC? (NOT PLCOpen) The Editor is similar to the Arduino One and you can use it for much more Boards. Would be nice if you can check it and make a video. Especially what i couldnt resolve there is to import FB_Librarys there like the OSCAT Library. Can you check if OSCAT Library for the ARDUINO PLC IDE is working?

    I really disliked the arduino portenta machine control. It was a pain in the ass to even connect to it, then the analog input readings were really inaccurate. I ended up returning and buying some Click PLC stuff
