I gotta say “Up through the bobsleigh, Bugslide to get to Greenland, then downhill to get to Siberia” followed by “Wall ride into North Korea has me dying lmao
i was almost imagining a downhill in siberia to a wall ride in korea 😂
at which point is that?
8:50
"Wallride into North Korea" has to be a top 10 wirtual quote lmfaooo
"Wall ride into North Korea" is how I want the two countries to re-unify.
When I finished my map I already knew i was not going to win.. but the announcement that I wasnt even top 10 made me so excited to see the winners. Would love more mapping competitions like this ♥
W Chroma guy
Tbh, your track was the cleanest and most consistent to drive. Well done!!
@@ritwikverma8140 IDK man, I think pressing W and just waiting is more consistent.
Your map was sick dude!
@@rainexcrementintoyoursoul1038 lmao
These types of videos are legit are top tier content. The format is wicked and showcases the community's creativity.
yeah copied off atrioc
@@bryceinnerst7963 if someone’s gonna take the format, I like it with wirtual tbh haha
@@bryceinnerst7963 not like he has anything to say about it atm…
@@joemarais7683 hes back to streaming lmfao
@@bryceinnerst7963 literally every video format is copied from someone somewhere. Its impossible to be original nowadays. No matter what you do there will always be some that "did it first."
Just be happy there is a community man.
This is simply the best trackmania content. This is what peak performance is. This needs to be an ongoing series. This needs a sponsorship deal. This also needs the rules for mapping clarified to viewers.
The whole point was human-drivable, fast as possible, no rules. If Wirtual could make others as interesting as this without it getting same-y, that would be dope, but I think it would be cool as a yearly or bi-annual thing for a couple years.
@@totally_not_a_bot I think they specifically mean that it was not explained what block mixing or ghost blocking was
i think it's fine. those who don't know about block mixing or ghost blocking can safely ignore it, and those who know can understand why they weren't used in the solutions.
@@demonindenim I don't know but I'd still like to... typing "ghost blocking trackmania" into Google doesn't yield useful results
I think it'd be awesome, and each edition should have a twist to it. Like PF only, or no boosters, or only ice.
The checkpoints as a world map was actually genius, funny and super understandable
He did turkey dirty though
Can perfectly follow the commentary like no other way would provide.
would be better if he could say the word RUSSIA when listing the checkpoint locations
typical butthurt belter, they will all get the rope
Carefully avoids mentioning the one checkpoint that seems to be in Kashmir though, which when he said 'based on the world map" and I saw that one of the checkpoints was basically right on top of the largest and probably most significant land dispute on earth I just started laughing
i would LOVE for this to become a semi-regular series. Like a monthly or bi-monthly challenge. This was so creative and so much fun to watch.
same :)

I was really hoping medicine would come back just to drop a bomb on the competition, and what he did was insanely impressive. But that PF mapping from Tenshi is a work of art too
The 360 through North Korea is just mind blowing.
@@VallornDeathblade I read this comment before watching and it really confused me lmao
@@Keklord_🤣🤣🤣🤣
I know this would be more work in post, but maybe a small top-down map (like was shown at the start here) showing the path taken would be nice. Either static or as the run is happening, as this gives more perspective for the routes people have chosen to take. Trying to piece it together with just the commentary from Wirtual and the named checkpoints at the start still make it hard to get the big picture.
Agreed. Atrioc's Hitman speedrun competition video is a great example of the "top down" view and explaining why runners went the routes they did.
Agreed! I enjoyed watching even though I don't play but being able to see a top-down map at the same time would've helped a lot. Like join the dots. And colour the checkpoints that are done.
It's so impressive to make this PF. Normally when you make PF, you can just design a trick and choose where to continue. But when the checkpoints are predetermined, I'd imagine it takes a whole lot more when you have to actually design the tricks to fit the path and not the other way around. Hats of to Tenshi for that one.
congrats buckley on the first place, deserved it 100%
I didn't even know how you make a press left (PL) map but he did it. He's amazing.
@@khrishp The poetic irony he used when he made his PL map always take the car to the right is seriously incredible, when will his creative genius stop?
4:30 is actually insane.
I spoke too soon, everything is insane. The press forward map absolutely killed me.
I loved the chat's reaction to "not even top ten" and "award SECOND place," it's things like these that make me wanna stream more.
Cooked concept, cracked execution. MORE OF THIS, PLEASE
The fact that a PF track won this competition is absolute insanity...how anyone maps stuff like that out is pure wizardry...
And by that margin even. It's insane
I thought from the beginning pf would win because you could get human error out of the equation, my only doubt was some maniak with a nose bug setup and all that impossible shit
It was super cool building for this amazing project! It turned out amazing and I‘ll never forget the feeling seeing the winning run live… incredible😊
Nice job bro
Wirtual's storytelling is absolutely amazing. It's why I started playing trackmania a couple years ago and it's why I kept watching Wirtual even after I realized I was absolutely garbage at trackmania. Watching Wirtual play is fun, but listening to Wirtual narrate an adventure is thrilling. I'd love to see more competitions like this.
SPOILERS!!!
The reveal that Chroma wasn't even top 10 made my jaw drop lmaoooo. One of the best TM vids I've seen in quite a while, such a good idea!
13:00
I loved watching this video with my grandkids. Thank you Wirtual for uploading this life-changing video.
but you havent even watched it yet
guys don’t flame this guy for not even watching the video he watched it on 100x speed
@@nubicorno4338 my bad forgot there was such talent around
my children loved it too
@@Ayden_oh_no yeah and he also has grandkids at what im guessing under 30, very impressive
If it’s a bot then wow it had grand-bots in 3 days of it’s lifespan.
Bro my heart started pounding when Medicine appeared, I'm super glad he gave this a shot and also just for seeing him again, even while "retired" he still showed up and took second place, gotta love the man
One of Wirtual talents is being a creative and good event director, his events are the most entertaining things I see on this channel and I love the ideas
watching this live was so cool!! if you guys haven't been to his streams you should try it!
The words you speak are true
Bro hired pro dick riders
Wirtual narration is so good! He brings out love for every submission, pointing out the clever ways they improved the run - amazing to watch!
This format of challenge is really good - more videos like this would be awesome!
This is so cool, I wish to see more of this competition. such as a round two maybe
This is by FAR the best video I’ve seen from this channel and the most entertaining and greatly commented. And honestly I would love to see more of it in the future and seeing how creative the community can get with this challenges. Great video !
this was incredible, i was literally sat up in my chair for the last few maps, i want SO much more of this! not to mention the commentary which was so sick as well, please do more!!!
genuinely awe-struck by that final run. waytoodank indeed. please do another one of these!
You should definitely do more of this type of completion. This was so much fun to watch.
This was AMAZING. Great commentary and hype-building as always.
And the two Press Forward maps especially were just insane to watch. That double 360 spin!!
Seen tons of your videos, and this content is absolutely top notch. One of the best videos you've ever done with a great concept and very entertaining throughout. Would love to see more of this (but love all the content regardless)!
I absolutely loved this compitition and the content from it. So entertaining so see what the community is capable of creating.
This is really great narration for an amazing mapping competition. Maybe some more special prizes for different style/constraints would be a natural evolution of this format.
This had to be one of the best things I've seen on this channel or in this community. Phenomenal job by the mappers, and incredible presentation by Wirtual. PLEASE do more of these!
This was absolutely amazing content, been waiting for the video since the stream announcement and I'm so excited to see more
Loved this idea Wirtual!! Would love to see another one! Really enjoyed this, keep it up!!
competitive puzzle mode on steroids, pretty cool 😎
indeed
This video had me so incredibly hyped for absolutely no reason, the story telling abilities this man has is completely insane
This format was amazing. One of my favorite videos of yours. Keep them coming!
It's so smart from Wirtual's side to give map anchors mapped (:) to a real world. Perfect commentary aids spatial navigation. It was super entertaining to watch!
I'm so glad to finally see the result of this. The ingenuity and skill of these mappers is hard to believe. Such a treat to see their creations!
Would love to see another one. Would also be cool to have the competitors make a sketch of the checkpoints with their taken route so you can overlay that into the video in the start of the run. Would help to visualize the route :)
This must've been such a fun challenge for the mappers. Nice to see them get a chance to compete, rather than just the racers.
I smiled through watching this whole video. Brilliant, great submissions everyone, and congrats to the winner!
You know it's beyond insane pace, when he stops using actual terms like wallbang or bugslide, and he insteads says "He flies through this and then does that"
This was super creative and very fun to watch. Would love to see more of this. I would also be very interested in the thought process some of these creators put into the really fast maps maybe interviewing them would make this even more interesting.
Lars made a whole stream about his thought process in creating the map, you can probably still find the vod on his twitch channel
Absolutely LOVE the format! We should have this more often (please ☺). Finding an optimized path, building it with the game's physics in mind AND being able to drive it. Totally AWESOME!
One of the best original content seen recently. You are absolutly a great commentator, make all this hardwork maps vibing :). Thanks to everybody for that.
Awesome video and awesome map building. Congrats everyone that participated!
That's a crazy challenge and its mesmerizing to watch.
People finding the most wicked ways of completing this is really entertaining.
And medicine was just like "I can't retire without giving a shot at this" and he delivered a crazy run.
I want so much more of this format, this brings out absolute insanity and I'm here for it
This was an amazing concept and I absolutely want to see more!!!
Man. First time i ever saw Wirtual was at AGDQ, and since i've been playing for so long, i tuned in.
Sir, your channel is one of the most entertaining youtubes out there. My wife doesnt play the game and she watches.
Great engagement with the comunity as well. Keep it up Wirtual, you're awesome.
this was crazy enjoyable to watch thank you so much! how creative trackmania mappers/runners can be is unmatched
At the heart of this challenge is the travelling salesman problem, where you want to find the shortest route to catch all checkpoints. But then you also have to consider speed preservation and smooth turns
i need more of this, i think that all of this will get pretty optimized if ya do it enough, would be amazing to see this improve even further over time
Good job to all the mappers, drivers, editors and ofc wirtual himself. Great entertainment.
We definitely need to see another episode of this!!!
These ultra-high-speed-Press-Forward maps are just insane. Nothing more to say. Just insane.
For those who didn't play the 2 first game of the trackmania series (classic et sunrise) that kind of tracks used to exist (they were my favourites).
It was in the 'puzzle' type of tracks, and you were given fixed check points, start and finish (and often fixed parts of the track), and few blocks you could place anywhere to complete the fastest track you can.
Good old time.
This mode later appeared in United and United Forever and there were actually quite a lot of Stadium maps
this is such good content, we need these comps to be a regular thing
I really like the idea of a competition to build the fastest map, it's like the other map building competitions you've done, but way more objective and challenging.
Love this format to show off the other side of the game, mapping. Would love to see more mapping competitions in future
Absolutely gotta see more of this format, that was amazing.
by far one of the best vids ive watched on wirtualtv ever, creativity really has 0 limit
This is quite literally the holy grail of trackmania content. Well done I cannot wait for another competition like this.
do more of these dude. Highly entertained. That last run was just nutty as.
this one was insane! more of this please wirtual
Do more of this dude, it's awesome.
This is surely one of the most epic videos I've watched in a long while. Thank for the cool content!
This was so insanely hype. More of this please
More of this please, great to see the communities different ideas to solve the same problem.
very awesome competition. i admit by the 20 minute mark i was kind of checked out, overwhelmed with SPEED, kind of lost its lustre, at least until the last few maps. great content, i'd love to see more of these kinds of competitions
Amazing video wirt & editing team, great job
Such a great contest. Creativity, knowledge and skill are all rewarded.
This is sick, would love to see more maybe with different rules so the whole boosters everywhere thing doesn't get stale.
You should do this again, but limit the amount of boosters that can be used. Also, put a few checkpoints really close to each other so we can see some tech.
"tech"? That is a weird way of spelling "wicked fast plastic bounce combination".
@@kv-5 I thought the same but I think he means a "tunnel" of checkpoints to force a tech sequence.
This was one of the best trackmania videos I've seen in a while! I cant wait for the inevitable sequel!
Hell yes I want to see more of this. Awesome!
Loved this format with Big A and the Hitman contracts and really happy to see it working so well with TM too!
I LOOOOOVE this type of stuff. The unique solutions people come up with as well as DRIVING the maps they made well. Fuckin beautiful
Wow these runs were so damn creative, I love this format too. Would love to see more like it in the future!
I would love to see a TAS version too. Imagine how much more wicked that could get.
smithy map was sickkkkkk
the number 1 map got tears in my eyes, absolutely beautiful. i would love to see more of these mapping competitions.
Love to see more competitions like this
I can't believe it just kept getting faster and faster! Also this format is incredible and we need more!!
I mean I'm new to watch Trackmania videos and dont know if this is a common thing, but it's such a great idea. Seeing how different some of the maps can be is awesome.
the most entertaining video from you ive seen so far
i was smiling through the last 5 mins !
This was one the most entertaining youtube vids I've ever seen. The winning PF map had me in stitches from how absurd it was 😂😂
Really incredible idea for a competition, love to see more.
loved the format, would love more
I don't play trackmania but love watching these videos! for me "full speed" maps are where its at, the smoother the ride, the better :)
more of this please
it was awesome
I would love to see another one, with fewer CPs but spaced out further!
I need a series of this. This was amazing
Good maps and runs! I hope some day play like this guys!
This is easily your best video. Please make more of these
Loved the format! It would be cool if you then had a competition in driving those maps
Great presentation from Wirtual too. Kept everyone hyped making them thing that every run was the fastest.
god tier content concept. keep it coming
The world map is really helping out, dude. Thanks for the creativity!
Great concept, lots of talent from the community in map building and driving
I'd DEFINITELY like to see more of these competitions. Absolutely amazing, pure hype throughout the entire video. Maybe once a month would be great, with a 1-week building time to keep things more dramatic.
This had a 1-week building time, it just took wirtual two months to announce the results
