So here's the July video - oops. But thanks for the patience as I was dealing with a hand injury - 3 stitches and an overdue video later hope you guys enjoy.
Is painful yes?
Understandable, have a nice day.

We have an update: the Japanese Supreme Court has decided for tattoo artists not to have a medical license as a requirement. In other words, tattooing is legal!
With a needle, you have to have a med license. With the tebori style, you don't have to have a med license.
Yes, although culturally you may still be refused entry to certain places on the soul fact of having tattoos, Japanese or foreigner. It's just the way of things

интересный комментарий . Я врач , соответственно имею возможность заниматься медициной и лечением , значит это очень в плюс если бы я делал тату ?)
I love how people think of the games before the actual organization
I Mean;
THE GAMES ARE CALLED YAKUZA; BECAUSE IT FOCUSES ON THE YAKUZA!!
@@New3DSLuigi364 I know that. But my point is the games have become so popular that a lot of people's default assumption when someone says "yakuza" is the games, rather than the actual organisation, which I find kinda funny.
@@GeraltofRivia22 yeah its funny i think sega and rgg when localising the name should either just translate it or keep it (the original name was ryu ga gotoku translates into like a dragon)
@@punishedfiddle9309 Yeah but now there's a Yakuza game called Like A Dragon so it'd be strange if they changed it to Like a Dragon: Like a Dragon
I only ask one question about the yakuza, why is a guy singing attracting so many people?

This reminds me of that one time I had to fight the most dangerous hitman in Southeast Asia in order to take revenge on the shooting of the blind girl I fell in love with
What?
When you almost die, and a cute office lady takes you in and lets you be a stay-at-home husband, but you can't let go of your Yakuza ways so you end up menacing the neighborhood oba-chans at book clubs.
Many such cases.

Au contraire. You are a cultured person who does not let the masses limit your palette, a true patron of the arts.

Seeing the Hannya in the video placed my mind onto Majima and clouded everything else
It should also be pointed out that the Ainu, an ethnic group that existed before the more-Asian Yamato people that now mainly live in north Hokkaido, have a strong tattoo tradition. Especially among women, who traditionally tattoo their lips and forearms.
feels weird that i started playin yakuza this month and this video comes out lol
I was watching a video about the game today
Same! I'm on the last chapter of Yakuza 0 and I'm loving it!

Ask a simple question, get a brief summary of late Japenese history. A welcome result.
I mean in Western Australia apparently, most of the tattoo parlours are owned by legally grey Bikie Gangs. A strange coincidence of paralleled history.
Not really, tattoos being associated with criminals and other social outcasts is historically common across the world.
@@bottomtext probably only in places where tattoos aren't otherwise significant culturally or religiously
I'm from Australia and yeah it's not the same lol. Japanese tattoos have been criminalized and socially stigmatized for centuries, our bikie gangs have only owned these parlours within only the last 50 years at most, probably during the 70's onwards. Tattoos are found everywhere from Africa, the Americas, the Middle East and Europe. The closest thing I can think of that parallels Yakuza tattoo history is the British history of tattoos, British sailors had unique tattoos and because many of them were press-ganged into the Navy and had a reputation as drunks and rum fiends that would start brawls at taverns and ports, many people started to ostracize those with tattoos.
That’s not what I envisioned when you said “penal tattoos”
Did you envision the tatto equivalent of falling asleep at a party and getting sharpie art all over your face?
Oh, you probably meant *that.* Fair enough.
It took me to 3:27 when I realized his accent was saying "penal" rather than "pen!le"

Just finished Yakuza 0 before watching this video! Phenomenal game! Great work!

I heard that some Yakuza members will have the middle filled with the name of the Yakuza branch that they belong too i think? Can't remember where I heard it from but can't seem to find anything to back that up

Can we get an episode on Jamaica's political gang battles in the 70s and 80s? The cowboys, er I mean "political activists", and gun battles of wild wild west Kingston were something else.
Not only Japanese Yakuza have tattoos but a lot of East Asian mafias or criminal organizations have back tattoos. In Korea having tattoos are considered taboo, they would censor them if lets say an artist has shoulder tattoo and have a live televised show would have to be covered up. Not to mention when Korean Kingdom fell Japanese gangs that had smuggled things in and out left a mark which brought tattoos in to Korean criminal society. I believe scars tell more of story than tattoos. If I didn't have my scars I would consider of getting tattoos but I'm not ashamed of my teenage years or the exploits that happened which lead me to get shot five times and stabbed. What embarrassed me the most or feel guilt is when I got arrested once and my mother had to pick me up from the police station. I never felt guilty before especially if had to do with something that someone deserved but seeing her face, that disappointed face was the first time made me reevaluate my life. Oh a lot of the tattoos are symbolic, it tells the story of the Yakuza member and usually explains what kind of person they are.
The pronunciation makes me wince a bit, but I really like the video.
That’s rad.

In other words, japanese style tatoos are more popular in the west than in japan itself

Also, many U.S. military personnel, especially Marines, have tattoos. Since many see the American military presence in Japan as an occupying force, that might be another reason why people with tatoos are banned from many bath houses and gyms in Japan.
