    Love to see a ball bracket challenge! Highest spin, longest distance and softest feel.

    I started using this ball about 3 months ago. It's excellent.
    Soft off the putter, plenty of spin, feels lovely off irons, sounds good off the driver too.
    Lasts way longer than a tp5

      So true about the durability. Those Tp5 covers scuff too easily. Played 18 with a used yellow BXS that I've used to practice chips and putts with and it was still in fantastic shape.

      @@josiahjones9521 2 rounds with a tp5 and it looks like it's been sanded.
      I can be in a golf studio for 2 hours and the Bridgestone is fit for the course.

    Would love to see you guys review all 4 balls in the line up! I played my first round with the new B RX and I have to say the ball does what it says. Switch between B RX and B XS depending on course conditions and I really like the new generation over the previous generation. The XS in the previous generation was a little too spinny for me off the tee to where I lost some distance...but loved it on fast and firm courses. Going to have to pick up a box of the XS and compare it to the new RX.

    This is the best ball in the game by far, no doubt!
    I've really researched this ball and found a lot from what tiger has talked about....
    LONG COMMENT about Tiger Below:
    First off, Woods hates a hard clicky sounding ball! Absolutely despises anything that sounds "clicky" in his words. Which is why you'll find his ball, the Bridgestone TourB XS, is the softest compression ball in the game. Much softer than those balls who claim to be "soft feeling".
    Yes, Tiger likes a much softer compression ball, but the main key is that he has to have the most SPINNY ball available. He needs spin. Why would a golfer of his caliber need spin?
    Well, the reason Tiger wants such a spinny ball has to do with when Earl taught him as a boy and teenager. Growing up in the era Tiger Woods did, mostly everything was a lower compression spinny ball back in the 90s 80s and even late 70s.
    Balls used to be sold by compression #. They were also extremely spinny and hard to hit straight. The balls were made to be workable unlike the balls of today.
    Back-in-the-day Tiger spun the ball so much that Earl had to teach him how to take spin off the ball. Tiger was spinning the ball off of greens and shaping it a bit too much.
    Fast forward many decades later, Tiger has become so good at taking spin-off, he actually needs the spin and he must play the most spin ball available.
    It's of note that Tiger's swing was designed around the early golf balls and trying to take spin-off of them. He is not ever going to change that, you can bet on that!!
    As someone who's a plus +2.4 hdcp index golfer who makes most his money around the greens, I can tell you these are the best balls for short game no doubt.
    Interestingly, they also give me 2-6 yards extra off the tee. They are a little longer than the pro v1x for me, especially on slightly off-center drives.
    Also of note, Mr. Woods has always played a ball designed and made by Bridgestone.
    Back when he was signed with Nike, Bridgestone always researched and manufactured the ball but Nike mandated it must have the Nike swoosh logo. Bridgestone has always been the only company who could produce the exact ball tiger wanted. And I thank him for that.
    Cheers!

    I've played Pro V forever then tried the RBx last year for a couple of months but didn't like it for my short game so went back to the Pro V. Last month tried the RBxs and will now be playing it instead of the Pro V. Needless to say I like it.

    Ian, you've got to get this ball on the golf course or outside at least I think you will be further impressed with its launch and trajectory windows to the naked eye. I was a V1 X'er for ever! But switch to this ball when it released and haven't looked back. Better ball speed and distance with driver for me also which never hurts, also the cover stands up from a durability perspective to. Thanks for doing a proper review on this ball, Bridgestone gets skimmed over far too often in the ball conversation.

    • @BuffaloNickel9
      @BuffaloNickel9 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I overlooked Bridgestone for so long thinking, all they do is make golf balls they aren't a true golf company.
      Turns out that's the best thing about them, concentrating all their Tire & Rubber technology into the balls they make.
      One day I found a Bridgestone Tour B Xs on the course I was playing. This particular course I was a guest at playing with a friend one hot summer late-afternoon.
      The course was perfectly well-manicured and filled with a lot of excellent golfers who didn't lose balls very often, so I gave the ball a try on the next tee. I put the brand new Pro V1 back in my pocket.
      If it was good enough for them it was worth the try right? The TourB XS I found was in mint condition but still a risk.
      Fast forward three years and you'll never pry my Bridgestone tour B XS (Tigers ball) out of my hands. That's all I'll ever play as long as they make them!
      Pro V1 is a ways behind in second place and after that there is nothing in my opinion.
      Enjoy!

    I love this ball, taught me how to take spin off and now when it’s a windy day I’m playing well, you lots helped out too with the Wind playing video. But the biggest thing is that low driver spin, basically perfect juxtaposition of high spin and low spin in one ball!! Like even hitting it hard with low irons will knock that spin down a ton if you wanna go that route😂🤷🏻‍♂️

  • @timmygolfs

      Also Bridgestone does research-and-development like no one else. They have invested more money into rubber development than any other company in the world.
      I also notice with the Bridgestone tour B Xs, the cover is the most durable I've ever played, by far. The difference between the Bridgestone and the Pro V1 in terms of cover durability is night and day.
      Hardly *ever* shows Scuffs, I can't even recall the last time.

    Switched to the bxs last year from tp5 and never changed since. Amazing feel and spin but can still bomb it out there with driver hybrid and 2 iron. Not to mention the excellent durability. Best ball in golf by far IMO.

  • @Ecka63
    @Ecka63 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've been playing golf for around 40 years now and on average, shoot mid 70's. The BXS is by far the best feeling, best performing golf ball I've ever played.

  • @chris_b44
    @chris_b44 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I tried a sleeve of these after being fit for my zx7 irons with TP5 ball, but have never looked at the TP5 since!
    Not sure if it’s placebo or not but the ball performed into the wind much better than I expected for mid irons, I knew I was getting more spin so assumed ball would balloon but it went about 1/2-1 club further than I expected

  • @JiffyBiff
    @JiffyBiff 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    When I came for my fitting I discovered my spin numbers were fairly low. Took a while to find the right head, and shaft combination to get my numbers in a reasonable window.... guess I just found the ball I need to maximize that number.
    Thanks for the video. !

  • @UFBear15
    @UFBear15 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I changed from the AVX to the Tour BX a few weeks ago and it suits every part of my swing wonderfully.. Doesn't get spinny off tee, flies through wind well with all clubs and really spins with the wedges and stops when and how you want it to.

    I am a high handicapper, social group has me 28-31 depending on the game before and I use this ball most of the time. For me I love the control and spin I get, I can bump and run onto a green and see it skid along and not run away on me, when driving it may not go as far as other balls I hit but i don't mind as it won't run off into the bushes. A bit pricey but my scores drop using this ball compared to tp5 or callaways. Each golfer needs to try different ball and find what fits their game

    I’ve played a few rounds now with this ball. Fantastic distance off my driver, good chipping with my 9i around the green and nice off the face of my putter. Just a pity currently that supplies of them is getting harder to find for purchase. This ball has improved my golf and lowered my round scores so is a winner for me. ( from New Zealand )

      Pretty sure we still only have supplies of the old ball in NZ right now. Bridgestone has tweaked the 2022 generation for all four of their 'Tour' balls. It would be nice to see a comparison between the old Tiger ball and the 2022 Tiger.

    I’ve played the XS before but ended up settling on the BX based on poor driver performance from the XS in the past. Once summer rolls around (Southern Hemisphere here) I’ll give these Tiger golf balls a go. Should help hold some of the baked out greens we get in sunny Nelson.

    Idea. If you are testing all 4 B Tour balls, it would be great if Ian would hit half the shots and a slower swing player the other half. I am slightly south that equator and cannot decide between the XS and the RXS. Longer shots with the first but much less spin with the XS, less distance and more spin with the RXS.

  • @Supermahon949
    @Supermahon949 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I just noticed... the efficiency on the 50yd shots is sub 1.00 - club head speeds of ~60mph producing ~52mph ball speeds. I've been building my wedge matrix and trying to lock down specific backswing/thru-swing depths, and realized I'm doing it pretty blind without knowing what my swing speeds are for those 1/2 - 3/4 shots...
    Now it has me wondering:
    1. What are my 1/2 - 3/4 swing speeds?
    2. What are the reflective ball speeds/efficiency on those shots?
    Can you do a video on short game smash factor? I'd always assumed it would be some value > 1.0

    • @EdReed20DB
      @EdReed20DB 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a low speed shot with a lot of delivered loft, so it makes sense that the energy transfer is low. Imagine how low the smash factor would be sliding the club under the ball with a flop shot. The more glancing the impact is the lower efficiency is.

    Discussing JT's dead-arm 8i and Tiger taking spin off. When it comes to technique, is that exclusively pulling the ball back in the stance and having a lower finish with the arms? Taking the flight down with the spin? Or are there other techniques that say, links players have in their arsenals to take off spin while still retaining height and decent angle?

    Do you think if someone (who had gotten fitted into a stiff flex) was really struggling with creating enough lag, they may be benefited by staying in that same shaft but in a regular Flex to create more lag?

    You can't talk about this golf ball without mentioning durability as well. It is without question the most durable ball at this price point as well.

      We can’t speak on something we haven’t tested Greg. Hitting indoors offers a very different type of wear on the cover. We’d be happy to test that during the outdoor season though.

    I really like the ball, but for me the cover wears so quickly you could go through 3/4 balls a round if your hitting good wedge shots witch is what I have found the cover just Doesn’t last witch is disappointing for how good the ball is and the price you pay

  • @nickpak9935
    @nickpak9935 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    How is the durability of the cover? Typically with softer, higher-spinning golf balls the cover tends to wear and tear much faster.

      Cuts easily - nowhere near as durable as a pro-v. I play them anyway because I love the spin around the greens, but yeah, not durable.

  • @BillC-mz6rw
    @BillC-mz6rw ปีที่แล้ว

    agree with the analysis - only thing is, I'd wager the prov1x, pv1, avx are better off the putter. just seem to roll better and have better control over distance with the putter. if Bridgestone XS could putt like a proV, it would be the best ball of all time
