It doesn’t sound like a boring life at all. It sounds like heaven to me.
@loriharper6011 yes she has the thinking alot of ppl need to have!
Hi Tessie. The older I get, the more I like to stay home. I love the home my husband and I have made, and I love being here. I guess I'm "boring" too, lol, but that's ok.
Hi Shanalong, include me in on the same boring club! I was just talking to a friend earlier today about the same thing. The more we get older, the less interested we are in leaving our homes for fun. I'm 66 and she is 64.
❤
@Gail-og6ye exactly!! Though I have always appreciated what I've been blessed with the older I get, the more thankful I've become. 😊
I feel the same...when you have a home where you want to be all the other things are just noise.
Many people who are not content may look at this as 'boring'. I look at it as priceless!
@@Tinkswisdom711 most definitely! 😊
I think that the older we get the more we like staying home. That’s the way it seems to be with me anyway. Sitting by the fire or reading nothing boring about that.sounds comfy and cozy. Add a cup of tea and I would be all set. Have a great evening everyone!
It really does sound cozy!
Same With Me Julie😊,
Sounds Like A Lovely Cozy Evening-- Not In The Least Bit Boring!
Hope That You Have A Lovely Evening My Friend,
Blessings, Andrea
Glad I’m not alone
After all the chaos, bad news, tragedies hitting all day long in the news, right before bed (and after my prayers), I like to watch your videos. They are so sweet and calm, then it is easier to go to sleep. Thanks for being you.
A lot of the news is fear mongering on purpose to dishearten us. Stay off the news and you can just live your life and will be happier.
What a compliment to Tessie!
I believe the older we get, the less "bull" we're willing to put up with. I worked years and years around people and for people and now, I'm SO content being alone. We can all be boring together. Thank you Tessie.
Just gotta say, I had this same converstion with my daugter recently. I've bern home a lot lately & its exciting to see how much I am not spending because I'm just not popping into stores. There's always something tempting, but if you don't see it, you won't be bringing it home. So much if what we buy is because were often shopping to deal with boredom, restlessness, unhappy feelings. I'm grateful for the money I'm saving.
I’m so in awe of you and your computer skills! At 78 I have come to the conclusion that the computer age has passed me by. I can navigate an IPad my smart phone is a challenge also. BUT when it comes to a budget, canning, gardening, sewing, cooking from scratch and making due with what I haveI I am way ahead of most in the younger generation. I guess we all have our special skills in life!
I have to tell you that the skills you have are the best skills in life and I know a lot of the young generation don't have these skills but need to be learning them .
Who Loves Tessie Time :-)
I do 💞
Of course. ❤
Always 😊
Meeee
Me too 😊
I must be stuck in the 80s/90s because the things you mentioned are all the things I still do! Lol!❤❤
Good Morning Tessie, Sisters, Brothers, and Friends, Wish you all a wonderful blessed Monday filled with Gods Joy and Happiness :-) Remember to pray for one another and for all around the world :-) God Bless You ! Love you all :-) Keep Smiling be safe and warm :-)
It’s not a boring life, it sounds like mine. I’m very satisfied. I’m a widow but I have 2 dogs and a cat. Taking care of them keeps me busy. I have a small garden and I read a lot. I’m much older than you and I enjoy every one of your videos. You have taught me a lot. You keep doing you, I look forward to your videos.❤
Every time we decide to get rid of something, we end up needing it within the following g 2 weeks. Its insane to throw out anything that you might have a use for. Organization is key. It's the hardest part of being prepared for anything. 💚🌞
Not boring at all!!! Its called living the simple life.
I am another who loves her home, no where else I'd rather be. I raised 4 children and worked as well through necessity. Now at 72 I am loving just being a homemaker.
I also like to stay home, have always been a homebody.

Hi Kimberly. God bless you too. Tina 😊
I rest comfortably in my boring rountines and I regret nothing!! Thanks for sharing ✌🏼💛😊
HI Tessie, Great video. I worked outside the home for 32 years. Now, retired I can be the homemaker I always wanted to be. I really like being home and living a simple life. Looking forward to videos each day.
I have been a house wife all my married life , it’s peaceful and very relaxing I do my best to not stress myself and I read and see a lot and I wouldn’t change it for the world. Take care and stay warm and safe have a wonderful day ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Good morning, Tessie. My life is also at home-work, family, and social life-and I love it. There's none of the chaos and drama I used to deal with when life took me away from the home for work. The older homemaking books have so much wisdom and so many great tips and treasures in them. I really enjoy reading them, too. Have a blessed day! 😊
I never noticed your scar! You’re such a blessing thank you
Your home is so beautiful! I love your quilt in your bedroom! You are a breath of fresh air ❤
Thank you so much!
You don’t have a boring life, you have a peaceful life.😊
“Tidy desk, Tidy mind” you have a beautiful home, Tessie! I love watching your videos!😊
Thanks Tessie
I think that being a "homemaker" is a lost art that needs to be rediscovered. I see the comments from other women on here that always desired to be a homemaker too. What are you really getting from the rat race? The pressure is tremendous if you work a full time job, have children and a house, something is always getting short changed because there isn't enough time in the day. I knew that I was miserable and wanted out, but financially we could never see a way for me to leave the workforce. Now I look back and wish I would have had the courage to just step off that cliff and go for it. People tend to forget that it cost money to work. You have the second car, insurance, a work wardrobe, childcare, the convenience foods because you're too tired to cook at night and many other little expenses. You know what really made me cry? Figuring out that by the time I paid for the car, gas, insurance, clothes and childcare, I was bringing home less than five hundred a month. Yep, that'll getcha. Life's too short to be waiting to live it. You can be a one income household if you really work for it. I would have much rather spent my days in the garden. How about you?
Tessie you have a peaceful life and I’m so envious! Have a wonderful day. Hugs from Alaska
Hope you have a great night Tessie. Stay warm and stay safe. Thank you for all the great ideas.
i stay at home alot myself, thats because i'd rather stay home than be around a bunch of people
Hi Tessie! Great video!! I agree that as I get older, I find that I'm enjoying simplifying my life and just enjoying things that I used to take for granted. ❤
I am 60 and never have got to be at home...I WOULD LOVE TO WHILE I AM ABLE TO DO AND ENJOY TJINGS I WANT TO DO. You ladies that can, i applaud you and you are blessed, even if havi ng to do without things of "wants", i am satisfied with "the monthly needs"
2 more years, dear. You can retire.
@@joycejackson9315 Hoping SS will still be around! And not reduced either. So anyone turning 62 ought to take it now!!
@joycejackson9315 i hope...insurance is the only problem. In hopes i can find some to afford. Thank you for the encouragement i need it!
Love the simple makeup routine . 😊
I agree with you Tessy I find staying home does save me money I make my breakfast coffee at home make my lunch my tea dinner saves
Happy Sunday Tessie, I like calm uneventful days , have a wonderful evening, thanks for sharing, YAH bless you sister !
GOD Bless Michael
@pr9764 YAH bless you Andrea
The problem with most people today, I think, is they don't know how to be content with just themselves. They need people or things to make them happy. Staying home in your own house, with a book and a cup of something, to some people is heaven......to others it is unbearable or boring! Which person are you? I like my book and coffee and am very comfortable in my own company! IMO, that is the basis of simple living.😊❤🙏
I have the tightwad gazette,good book 📚
“Side track home executive”
Great old book
I AM SO HAPPY TO SEE THIS TODAY!!❤❤❤ SO MUCH NEEDED
Thank you so much !!
I read those Sidetracked Home Executives books back in the '80s!. They were great! 👍
Good morning Tessie! I am starting to think about the future. Right now I live with my dad who is 89 years young. I know that He won’t be with me forever ( but I sure wish he could). I know in time I will have the house by myself and there will be a lot of big changes to make as I am the last member of my family. Any way I have started doing a few things in preparation for that time.
My daughter once told me that every time you bring something into your house, you get rid of something. That way, you don't get clutter...Im still trying to discipline myself to do this.
Thank you Tessie for sharing.❤️
Loved your video ❤
Thank you so much 😊
Tessie, don't worry about some tiny scar. You have the most beautiful complexion. I am sure it is due to your clean living and cooking, plus your purity in the Lord.
Looking forward to all you are doing this year- you seem happier and more excited with these videos!
So thrilled to be able to stay home after this week. Loved this video. Have a blessed day Friend

@@pr9764 Hi Andrea. Hope you have a blessed evening too. God bless.
Great video. 😊
I’m looking for something I can do from home or at least gets me off my feet. Keep doing you.
LOVE your channel…, Excited to go back to the 80/90’s in reading these books you recommended. I am a little older than you so I fit right into that time period when I was just stating out in married life in my 20’s and early 30’s. It was a very joyful time when life seemed more simple. I am looking forward to what life has in store “for both of us” as we (you and I) follow this method of “simple living.”
Have a blessed day! ❤
Tessie, I do the same as you being at home care giver to my Mom has me cleaning and reorganizing decluttering and just enjoying my time at home I clean the fridge each week and use up what is still good thank you for sharing your day with us :-) Love you my Sister :-) God Bless You and Ken :-)
I loved the Sidetracked Sisters! Looking forward to revisiting them!
I absolutely love the books and you'll be seeing a lot of videos on them coming next week
Great video Tessie! Thank you.
Hi Tessie. You are such a natural beauty.
Thank you so much! That really means a lot to me 😊
I agree. 😊
Me too!
I take notes all day long too…lots of note pads and scrap paper… I love my stuff too but also try to tone it down so I’m more organized and have less fluff.
Always appreciate your videos. You’re so genuine and relatable.
We love boring! Boring does not equal bored.
We are boring also and love it. We live a very quiet life at home and enjoy each other company. The only excitement we have is our work and once in a visit with family.
Hi Tessie. It is so much fun going to the library. These older books are so wonderful. My house feels full too. I do a little bit every day. I love these videos Tessie. I'm going to try to find some of the older books. Thanks Tessie for being here. God bless you. ❤
I love living my"boring" life. I don't miss the drama I had when I worked. Love your videos Tessie. Hugs
I can't wait for u to go through these books
The two sisters 'sidetrack home executives' used to be on the Phil Donohue Show. Their ideas are still relevant today. Think they were the ones who got me working of a day/week/month list, so I can get more done.
One adage I adhere to is a place for everything and everything in its place. Which over the years has probably saved me thousands of dollars because I do not have to buy something only to discover I already own the item.
Something Prepper Princess is great at reminding her followers. That and buying high quality so the item lasts years not months.
While I adhere to a less is more, green living lifestyle I am very much a lover of high tech and still do coding for a couple people.
Hi everyone 😊
Tessie, your life doesn't sound boring- it sounds cozy and sweet❤️ Wow, you can really stretch!!! It was really interesting to watch you do some edits, and show a little of your you tube work . Very fascinating!
Your green couch is lovely, I like the style of the arms. I also have green furniture in my living room.
Love the exercising!
Thank you so much !!

I have to say I LOVE the music! It's so lively and hapoy. Honey, you DO NOT have a boring life. You do alot every single day. You are the busiest person I know! I love to read too. I am a homebody too, it saves money. Mainly i go to dr. chuch activities and services, or the store. Thanks for another great video! Tina ❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊

Hi Tessie! I like being home, enjoying the simple ways and so I guess I belong to the "boring" club too 🤣 No one around me gets it but that's ok. You're home is charming, I love it!! Thank you Tessie, I am going to check the books out!
Your home looks so nice I love your videos and try to watch them all
Not first but as always, VERY happy to be here❤❤❤❤
I will be so excited when we become debt free...at least get down to just our mortgage. I need prayer tho as the Lord leads me on this journey.
I have a special needs husband whom does not handle finances well. I pretty much have to take charge and hold tight reigns over everything. I also have a question: Tessie do you all tithe? Especially when you had hard times? Ty...as of right now all we can do is give offerings. Ty for answering. You are such a blessing, and glad God crossed our paths.
I need to start working out as well
My Mom loved The Sidetracked Sisters! This will be fun!
Hi Tessie. You're great. Some of those books aren't my thing. I don't need or want to "fix myself up" to declutter or clean. That's wasting good skin care and makeup products. So I fix myself up after I've decluttered and cleaned. I'm still fixing myself up in the morning-just a little bit later. As for going through the refrigerator once a week-in my opinion that's not often enough to make sure food isn't being wasted. Some fresh produce can look fine one day but will need to be used the next day or it will go bad. Cucumbers are one thing I find that does that. I also stay home a lot.
Hi Tessie! I loved today's video, both the peek into your routine and the chat about the homemaking books you're reading. Have you ev thought about creating short ebooks that compile some of the tidbits you've gleaned from these and other sources? I don't mean that you'd copy them but you could use them as inspiration and write the advice in your own way or perhaps after testing it out for yourself and adding your own insights, etc. Ebooks don't have to be long or fancy, but you could sell them for a few dollars and have a potential income stream that might be a fun activity. You could have different themes, like a book on advice for new homemakers or a book on spring cleaning or frugal recipes, etc. Maybe find old public domain images to use for illustrations, or create your own photos to use. You could make other digital download-type products, too, that go along with your niche of old fashioned living for today. Things like calendar pages, or budget-making worksheets, kitchen conversion charts or common substitutions guides, or inspirational artwork that people can print out and stick up by their desk to encourage them, etc. It might be fun to create these things and the investment probably would be minimal. I know you don't want the stress of having to work a certain amount to earn a certain amount, but that's not what I am suggesting. I am suggesting this because digital products can be set up where the transactions are largely hands off on your end, and you could go at your own pace for creating anything. More of a hobby approach to it, where you do it when you want to create something and you don't worry about whether it's bringing in money or not (but, of course, don't spend too much in creating them), as opposed to a true business approach where you work at it everyday and expect the income to compensate for the effort. I hope that makes sense.
Hi, Tessie! This was such a calming and inspiring video! You did such a great job that I can hardly wait for the next episode. Peace and love to you my TH-cam friend ❤
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I hope you'll continue to watch.
Hi Tessie. Great video ❤
Wow I had no idea that the editing process took so long! Is there anyway you could go through it step-by-step with us? I’m interested to see which program you use and how it’s done.
God forbid you should ever stop with these videos, I would miss you terribly and look forward to my nightly Treat of watching Homestead Tessie! 😉❤️
I have a 13 inch scar from top to bottom on my abdomen after I had cancer and needed surgery last year. I had over 60 staples. Luckily most people would never know because it is covered with my shirt. It is quite ugly though! There is the scar plus dots on either side where the staples were. I heard you mention the sidetracked sisters. I wonder if it is the Sidetracked Home Executives, SHE for short. That is what the FLYlady system is based off of if you have ever heard of that. I will be very interested in seeing what you share about that! I look forward to seeing more of what you have in store. Thanks for sharing.
2025 is my year of whole house purge. I'm doing room a month. I'm using what I have and see a few things I want to buy. Because of you my time-line is no later than what season. Runners for 2nd floor is by next winter. Area rug for craft room ASAP as finances allow because my rolly chair is damaging the floor. Room by room slow and steady. Yes, my boring life!!!
I got craft room and bathroom decluttered completed in January even with my daughter staying in my focus room and having sister visit and staying in that room. February is finding me in "office" and dumping area for all things that doesn't have a home.
