I’m glad that super made Rossi relevant again. I sort of want him to do a 100 year training in the time chamber for 100 days and end up as strong as a super Saiyan or higher. Also, I want old kai to unlock him, tien, krillin and Yamcha where they adopt animal symbols and hit their spiritual forms.
I am happy that they made him relevant, but unhappy at how they boosted him up while shitting on Tenshinhan. Dragon Ball is very popular. The fans would love a reboot of the series. While Goku should be kept at a leading protagonist and it should be fight focused, there should be more focus on adventure and mystery, and other characters should be more developed. Also they have to establish a much more rational magic system with clear power scaling and limitations to power. There should be no beings capable of destroying planets without seriously hurting themselves or dying in the process. Power levels should not be measured and just being the strongest should not make one the best fighter. Techniques, strategy, and tactics come into play. A very physically strong fighter can be beaten by a weaker fighter who has more endurance and can bend air, fire, and water better than the stronger fighter can, while also summoning demons to assist him (though with likely grave consequences for doing this last bit).
This might be the last fight where martial arts matter in all of Dragonball. The rest of the series is either Goku or Piccolo physically overpowering people with their superior alien abilities and then in Z its all about who has more ki
Given how badly damaged Tenshinhan was after this fight, Goku had the advantage. Goku was fresh from a relatively easy win (against Krillin), while Tenshinhan struggled quite a bit. And had Roshi continued, Tenshinhan would have been even more exhausted.
Despite now goku being billions of times stronger, roshi will always be his master. Out of respect but mostly because you can always learn something out of these old codgers and turn to them for wisdom and moral guidance, thats what makes the OG dragonball so iconic
People saying that martial arts isn’t a thing in super anymore, Whis mentioned in the TOP that goku has an advantage in his base against ssj2 caulifla because of his skills as an martial artists
after watching dragonball you realize Z did a huge disservice to every character in dragonball and made the show... more lame in a way. Its really why the creator and others never seem to recreate Z because they miss dragonball it self not Z
roshi going easy on him so goku can have a rival and he can get back to chilling on his island lol. 0:50 is proof, tien really had no chance if roshi was serious.
Not really because they just brought a tournament back but dragon ball today is all about transformations, energy attacks, and flying, I’m really tired of characters getting these random transformations when they need it like at least dbz kept continuing to hype up the super saiyan transformation before it happened using Vegeta
I agree but I like z and dragonball equally. Z introduced stronger enemies, gohan's ssj2 transformation and future trunks ssj transformation. Man those were sad amd hit alot harder than their dads. But I wish it still had the dragonball essence and tien, piccolo, yamcha and krillin can come back to the fights instead of just hanging in the background. Same goes for gohan and trunks. Even goten. They were wasted and the spot light is always on vegeta and goku and that can be a problem.
It’s not really out fault. Dragon Ball had a few attempts first here in the US but because of the violent nature of the show and it’s sexual innuendo, it was heavily edited and place in crappy early morning time slots so it never took off and never went past the Emperor Pilaf saga at first. The same would hold true for Dragon Ball Z’s first run as well. It wasn’t until DBZ went to cable on Cartoon Network’s Toonami when it would finally take off. After the success of DBZ, then they went back to finish original DB. So we were always exposed way more to Z then original DB. Not by choice but how it turned out.
Tien’s path to the Finals was difficult. He faces Yamcha, Roshi, then Goku? Those are some tough matchups. Respect.

Remember when Tien was cool and a threat?
I like DragonBall because the focus was on the martial art no just powerlevels. The fights just looked better..
I like how tiens third eye follows whatever the others are looking at lol
Damn I forgot how brutal this fight was
The way this show evolved is still crazy to me…
Master Roshi just had to take his gi off to show he is serious lol
It’s funny how it landed on Bulma too XD
It’s not Master Roshi. Clearly it’s Jackie Chun.
Now this right here is a true example of catching hands
I have watch this episode this is master roshi..
For an ancient old man, Roshi is sure badass when he focuses up.
And had Roshi continued, Tenshinhan would have been even more exhausted.
why does master roshi always say boo when he fights
Son Goku Cuz He Is Scared *LOL*
Because he actually is the real demon Buu. His essence is trapped in Roshi.
No he says boob coz hes a pervo...🙎
I thought cuz he tried to b intimidating but hes is too goofy to do That 😂
When everyone was still pretty much relevant.
Despite now goku being billions of times stronger, roshi will always be his master. Out of respect but mostly because you can always learn something out of these old codgers and turn to them for wisdom and moral guidance, thats what makes the OG dragonball so iconic
People saying that martial arts isn’t a thing in super anymore, Whis mentioned in the TOP that goku has an advantage in his base against ssj2 caulifla because of his skills as an martial artists
no like old db used actual martial arts tropes n shit
Back when the characters were surprising and the battle was good and the days when krillin and goku were addorable
DB, when technique was key, attacks really hit home, and when martial arts were thought of over measuring peoples power kevels.
this was legendary fight
Geez! I forgot how visceral the fights in this series were.
after watching dragonball you realize Z did a huge disservice to every character in dragonball and made the show... more lame in a way. Its really why the creator and others never seem to recreate Z because they miss dragonball it self not Z
Watch Japan doesn't like Tien by Plague of Gripes
"Local Triclops Commits Elder Abuse"
Tien mattering? It’s been a long while
Back when power levels where bellow 100. Old times. Good times
roshi going easy on him so goku can have a rival and he can get back to chilling on his island lol. 0:50 is proof, tien really had no chance if roshi was serious.
Roshi himself stated that Tien might have beaten him at full power
You know you're a legend if your name is being used by an anime character.
why did bro try to jumpscare tien at 0:26 lmao
"boo"
Man I wish we could've had Jackie Chun in the TOP with roshi. They would've been so cool together
When there was actual fighting in the db universe
00:26
BRO LMAO
And look at Tien now...
What a fall from grace.
At least he's not Yamcha
Master roshi ist so good RIP Akira toriyama and thanks for all😢😢😢
Back when tien was a killer
When dragon ball was still about combat and not laser shows
1:53 Tien had Jackie Chun / Master Roshi fucked up lol Roshi wasn't going!!💫👊👊💢💫👊👊 lmao
#
Marcellus Jamison fr lmao. One of the hardest hits in anime
You know everyone says they miss the martial arts, but am i the only one that noticed super tried to bring it back
lmao what????? you gotta give examples bc i don't see that shit at all. they brought a tournament back, they did not bring back actual martial arts..
Not really because they just brought a tournament back but dragon ball today is all about transformations, energy attacks, and flying, I’m really tired of characters getting these random transformations when they need it like at least dbz kept continuing to hype up the super saiyan transformation before it happened using Vegeta
Dragonball is so underrated compared to Z.
This is all thanks to the Western audience of course😅.
As a kid I was one of few who liked the OG Dragonball more than Z.
Not by choice but how it turned out.
absolutely slapping the shit out of each other here lol
Tien should have stuck with crane style, would have had more depth as a character.
Maybe but we will never know
They need to bring back his 4 hands why didn’t they think of including that in the dragon ball fighterz🥲 so cool
