Bringing Trevor Bass up in the mix is adding so much depth, funk, and feeling to this. Dude keeps the energy bouncing and it adds sooo much to what Rick, Pete, and Cotter are bringing. Having Jeff on guitar integrates the ability to further expand the percussive/rhythmic complementary bass middle layer he’s honing in Orebolo (I see it as playing the part of both Bobby & Mickey in Dead terms) and it’ll allow Pete to stay on keys in certain scenarios he otherwise would’ve swapped for a guitar previously. Ultimately it’s incredible to see these guys progress and evolve into a new version of each of themselves individually and as a collective whole!
If you want to see some insane bass playing, I beg you to go check out The Reality Check Experiment on TH-cam. They always keep their bassist Kyle Rowe high in the mix, and he does things with the bass that don’t seem humanly possible. Also, he’s only 22, so it’s kinda scary to think that he’s actually going to get better. The whole band is very young under 25, and only playing for a year with the current lineup, but they’ve got almost 20 original songs and they’re ALL awesome. I usually have some songs I don’t care for even with my favorite bands, but there isn’t any of theirs I dislike yet.
Ben and Trevor had developed a natural groove that underpinned much of the Goose jam. On Gemini and Manu, I wasn't feeling that same chemistry. I agree that having Trevor's bass being up in the mix brings back that amazing groove. This version of Hungersite is fantastic!
Agree. I do wish he had more groove to his lines, but it’s great having him up in the mix either way. Just needs to add a bit of flavor and stank to his game.
I have followed a few touring bands religiously for years. Goose is on a whole other level i didnt think music could get to. Been dabbling the last couple years but recently have gone down the live recording rabbit hole. Cant wait to see you guys in person for the first time somewhere near Chicago. Keep up the great work and THANK YOU!
OK drummers. This outstanding performance suggests that Cotter had more than 2 months to prep. This is super clean. Maybe he was a huge Goose fan. Or he had inside info maybe 9 months or a year ago. Thoughts?
to you younger fans out there, get on board NOW with these guys because these guys are special. Embrace them while they are still playing small venues and giving alot of incredible music away basically, like these vids on TH-cam. The powers that be will try and manipulate these guys, but if they have the right people helping them, they will be able to be in control of their own destiny like the Dead and Phish.....good luck guys, be carefull and thanks for the jams baby!!!
This is my 5th or 6th listen since the Chateau Sessions dropped, these guys have become my soundtrack in life. Can't wait for June 15th in Canandaigua, best venue I've been to in NY!
Also can we talk about how much less stressed out Rick looks while hes playing. He moves with so much more energy while hes playing then he did before the 5 night Cap run.
I heard from Jeff once that Rick is always trying to slow it down, always. I think they had that issue with Ben he wouldn’t slow down or didn’t know how to. The tempo was high. Which I love high tempo goose too but as you can tell they are slowing things down a lot. Slow tempo on that rockdale for sure. Rick probably feels more comfortable in this tempo.
Love your music!. Wish you could come to Australia, I'd be there front row. Beautiful mix between Phish and The Grateful Dead. This is brilliant on so many levels. Amazing musicianship and tonality. Looking forward to hearing more!!
Just got home from work (we had a band tonight so I could not tune in) and I can’t wait til the morning to listen. Aint tryna get myself all fired up yet 😅
I don’t think that Goose sounds like Phish but they definitely aim to make Daddy Trey proud. I’d say they succeeded. At least one of these guys knows how to write a catchy dang hook.
Please oh please someone correct me if im wrong but did I just witness this man shred the ending to arrow with a broken e string? What a fucking legend
Biggest difference I notice on a lot of songs being played now is an absolutely slowing down of the tempo. As someone eluded below Rick looks more comfortable. I think it’s because it’s slowed down more. I heard from Jeff once that Rick is always trying to slow things down. I think Ben had a hard time slowing things down. I love up tempo fast goose but this is cool af too . Has more of a dead speed. Also, a lot of it has many of us can tell sounds very phishy in the jam department. Lots of dead like speed though. I think they will find a balance between it all and create their own sound. I definitely don’t want like 4 songs per set haha. I love the songs, it’s why goose is goose. More dead like, less phish like? Idk it’s all great honestly haha
This is valid. It’s definitely slower tempo with cotter . I would like to think he can turn on the boost when needed. But a lot of us aren’t necessarily at goose for the dance, we love the songs and the emotions behind them. Plenty of other jam bands rock the dance dance vibes.
Jeff is always in the back of the mix? Seemed his percussion was brighter last couple shows I listened to but his kit? Love the new drummer. His kick snare is really punching through. Gives that band more power. Much needed.

@@C3Cooper FYI maybe a typo but its Hungersite. Not sure what the refers to, the words I can pick out are cool though!

As a older jam band fan who grew up on The Dead & The Allmans I’ve seen this band 3 times & every time is better🤟🏻
That arrow jam is the stuff legends are made of holy crap

Borne into chateau was the best shit I’ve heard in awhile !! Can’t wait for this
I’m coming for that mustache, Rick. I know that’s where you keep your magical guitar powers.
That bass sounds fabulous.
Cotter’s Fills in Rockdale was magical. Grooving hard
Yeah were gonna be just fine with Cotter. They knew what they were doing. As much as I love Ben, Cotters style and energy fits really well.
They sound so good.. Trev and cotter connecting….
Yes which was part of the never being able to hear Trevor before… there was a disconnect between him and Ben I believe.
Silver Rising absolutely one of the best song I have ever heard. Ever
A man turning into wolf. A monster!
Yes it is a excellent song, filled with tension and emotion. But, I think it's more than just a song about turning into a werewolf .
@@ReneeMilitelloI know it’s a song about that but I associate it with something else.
One of my favorites. I cried when they played it last year in Chicago.
I get it!

Lets fucking go Goose!!! Rick is absolutely tearing that guitar up!! 🤙

Goose + Hungersite. Wow. Out of all the jams and all the bands, the apogee
Rick breaks his high E string on Arrow and continues to send it, love it!
Magic being made right here!
What Cotter added to Rockdale!!!!! That's one of my faves and he made it even better. You can see how much fun they're all having.

Did I just watch an hour and 12 minutes of goose whilst eating Oreos. Yes, yes I did.
And how many Oreos would that entail?

Another chateau session, same stone pony T-shirt- they had to love playing those two shows and back to back nights were phenomenal
Baby steps into 2.0 territory
Trevor's base really comes through here. Love the mix.
God ddamn this rips and to hear they're high on mushrooms makes it that much more fire.

Passion!
I always love the stuff you put out
Going to see them at Northlands this Summer!! Can't wait.
Goooooooooooooose!!!!
its great...
Hell yeah
If King Gizzard had Sting as a vocalist and wrote less-goofy songs.... you get Goose! Sounds great!
I don’t think that Goose sounds like Phish but they definitely aim to make Daddy Trey proud. I’d say they succeeded. At least one of these guys knows how to write a catchy dang hook.
Peter’s hair has massive fall ‘94 Trey vibes 👌
Dark horse!!

5:29 mark, like the change in the song there. Better than before, flows better.

Can Cotter make a large audience dance off and on for three hours? That’s a big part of what catapulted Goose to their current level. Tough question.

Prolly not like Ben, but will make the live show experience new and dynamic in different and enjoyable ways.
