At OOO Minneapolis concert last night, an LGBTQ+ fan asked the group at their HI-Touch fan sign (prior to the show) for their assistance with a proposal to their significant other during the show after Yoojung performed begin and KB said he would help (actually, either KB or Nine almost spoiled the proposal moment). Anyway, OnlyOneOf stopped the show and allowed that person to do the proposal - it's all on Twitter, even Koreaboo posted it on their SNS. OMG! Of course, the fans were all whooping it up and the couple were hugging and crying, uwu
Honestly, that phone booth is a paid actor at this point and it has a meaning. It shows how open every relationship is according to the position of each member. Yoojung and Kyubin - Kyubin has to be a bit bold and find Yoojung inside the phone booth, breaking his walls in a way, where he is waiting for KB since he is used to watching him from afar, feeling a bit shy as well. But both are ready for this relationship, they know what it means and what will happen once they decide to go further with it. Junji and Rie - Junji feels a bit left out by how Rie is seeing their relationship, Rie is closed off and can only be himself with Junji only in the comfort of their home or places he knows are safe. That's why we see Rie inside the phone booth, back to the glass when Junji is looking for him. In a way, that's the reason they are having issues because Rie isn't ready to come out about their relationship. Mill and Nine - They are the only couple that meets outside the phone booth, Mill is ready to meet Nine and fight everything about their relationship, by having him by his side. Nine also, he would rather get beaten up than shy away and leave the one he likes alone, he even gathered his strength after what happened to him, to meet Mill so he wouldn't think he stood him up. Yoojung's mv shows the platonic side, when you have butterflies in the stomach just by meeting with the person and the happiness when having the person close to you even if are just in the same room. The desire to be totally fall for this person and be with him, as if it were just you and the person against the world. It's the beginning of a relationship where you're getting to know each other and everything is new and beautiful and magical. KB's mv shows that for him it's more physical-casual. He is free to stay with Yoojung when he has time and then leave the next morning, he knows the other likes him and he likes the other too but keep the thing they has one-sided for not knowing what to do with his desire to run for him... In the lyrics it says "I feel you, you're my planet (pob my type or my safe place) oh hey, don't misunderstand, that's all." End at the end of the MV, he leaves the scene leaving the other alone. Junji's mv talks a lot about the confidence of someone who really wants someone else and is not afraid of be what he wants to be and do what he wants to do, he expresses his desires not only emotionally but also physically like "baby you'll be mine in my two hands // leave yourself to me, I'm ready to be yours" that can be seen in the way he acts always taking the lead, even when they are sitting down to talk, and the other seems uncertain, Junji takes the lead and expresses himself through the kiss. Rie's mv in the other hand shows the vulnerable side of their relationship, shows someone who is experiencing everything about the other person for the first time and that ends up making the person (their beliefs and behaviors) awkward and everything becomes confusing because on one side it's all these new experiences and the person he's starting to accept that he love and the other, the person he was. It's sad point of view, melancholic in a way that the memories of the relationship become almost ethereal, because Junji was his first and only. Mill's mv is very straight to the point, a quiet, shy, insecure and bullied boy with SO MANY things in his head; then he sees in another person everything that he is not. Someone that can guide him and rescue him even in his worst situation... And with the reciprocity that Nive gives to him, he finds the strength to become closer to him and be himself to the point of immortalize Nine in his drawings, because deep down he knows that is already a won battle with their relationship, to stay with the person who made his heart beat so fast. Nine's mv shows an energetic, confident yet bold person who ends up "melting" for the shy and quiet guy in the room, looking for ways to approach the person he likes and have him close. He has an air of seduction in his actions and at the same you can see the anxiety of not knowing what's next, but going for it anyway in an attempt to make the person like him too; so much that even after being beaten, he gets up and goes to the place where he had asked Mill on paper to go, because they both feel the same thing about each other. But one thing mvs #1 #3 #5 have in common is that they show the relationship in a more subtle, not an innocent relationship, but almost in naive way of flow I would say. While #2 #4 #6 explore more the nuances and complications that each relationship can have, because with the exception of Mill and Nine that shared the "love in the first sight", the relationship of Junji, Rie, Yoojung, KB was made up of people with different views about the same relationship.

This series of MV's was truly groundbreaking for kpop. While some solo artists have included queer storylines in their MV's, a whole group hasn't. They also still did it despite knowing the backlash that could potentially happen from some korean fans. The group is also supposed to star in a gay web drama sometime soon. OnlyOneOf are breaking boundaries! I also agree about so much queer media being so hyper focused on the suffering and oppression of the queer community. I also think that attempting to erase the oppression is also harmful, and I wish their were more pieces of media that showed a good middle ground. I recently finished a Thai queer show called My School President that I thought was just brilliantly done. It is the story of a young gay couple in their senior year of high school, however the actual plot of the show revolves around a battle of the bands style music competition, not the characters sexuality. It still didn't shy away from important topics, but still managed to create the ultimate feel good show. It's available on TH-cam to watch for free, so if you need a mood booster it's a great one.
I'm guessing the reason why they didn't show the kiss was because it would have been censored in Korea or blocked in Korea, and they wanted their message to be seen by as many people as possible which is so sweet. By the way, OnlyOneOf is on tour right now and has held pride flags in every location so far 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
they don't block or censor gay kiss scenes in Korea. But, even in mvs about heterosexual relationships idols will typically not do kiss scenes and only tease it.

My favourite of the solos is "because" - Rie's voice is so heart-wrenchingly beautiful and imo it just aches with the desire to be loved (which makes the MV hurt even more). I cried watching his live performance 😭 As you may have noticed, the pairings are all based off the "libido" MV. Originally, Nine and Mill were in a love triangle with Love (the leader who left the group in 2021). I wonder how their storyline would've looked if he was still part of the group 🥺
if you want to get to know the members a little more the behind the scenes for the solos would probably be a good place to start because it would round off this series and also give you first impressions of them joking around as well as them at work

Yeah this series means a lot and I love how different the songs were - hard to choose a favourite but Yoojung's "begin" has a special place in my heart. Can't wait to see OOO acting in their upcoming BL series, they did great here^^ Bwt have you watched Asian BL/GL etc series? Many of them are more happy and wholesome than your usual Western LGBT+ series, which often do wallow in the hardships and the difficulties of our existence (which is yeah needed but does get pretty heavy and depressing at times). Bwt have you watched Asian BL/GL etc series? Many of them are more happy and wholesome than your usual Western LGBT+ series, which often do wallow in the hardships and the difficulties of our existence (which is yeah needed but does get pretty heavy and depressing at times). Of course, there are a lot of variety in Asian BL/GL including more mature, dark and serious series too (some of which are my absolute favourites), but if you are not familiar with Asian BL/GL, I would recommend, for example, these:
Japanese "Cherry Magic", "Kieta Hatsukoi" and "Old Fashioned Cupcake"
South-Korean "Semantic Error" and "Light on Me"
Taiwanese "History3: Trapped" and "Be Loved in House"
Thai "My School President", "Moonlight Chicken", "2Moons2", "Theory of Love" (and honestly so many others)
