But some people believe that the production might not be that great because of the studio(not particularly sure why but the problem lies with the studio creating the drama) but I’m still excited for the drama❤
@@greenepop4830 I think the reason for people not being happy with the studio is that the studio created shows in the past that weren't so great production wise, and since the source material for bump up business already has a questionable plot and flow ppl are worried it won't be handled well. I trust that it's not going to turn out horrible since they're making changes to the story but I'm not exactly expecting a cinematic masterpiece either.

I don't know the exact reason why they didn't show actual kisses in the music videos, but one possible reason is to avoid higher age ratings in Korea. Even an implied kiss can be controversial, as seen with Rie's solo "Because" getting age restricted. The members may have had different ideas about the level of intimacy they wanted to express onscreen or the director might have chosen to leave some things to the viewers' imagination. It's rare for idol groups to show romantic lip-to-lip kisses in music videos, ESPECIALLY among themselves. Considering that the kisses depicted were between queer partners, the producers might've taken extra caution not to provoke more negative reactions from the Korean media. Still a bold and important move to include the scenes they did, regardless of how explicit they were.
Yes, I remember Holland said his mv got a 18+ or 19+ rating because of showing a kiss between him and the male actor- the kiss was more than just lips pressed together but still he made it clear the rating was due to it being gay

having had the chance to see them live and even talk to them before, I just want to let everyone know that these 6 talented men are some of the sweetest, funny and most genuine humans out there!! they are criminally underated and with the concept and themes they have in their videos it makes sense why they sadly aren't known at all in korea :/ this is where international fans got to wake up! these are such important topics that they cover, making so many people feel represented!! and besides the themes in their videos their music simply SLAPS, imo all their B-Sides are worth checking out and I hope to see more reactions to them on this channel in the future ❤❤

I ask because most people that I noticed that makes especially a lot of queer related content, are in relation to those traits as well versus just being an advocate almost.

@@bulletproofwaafle7770 they’ve never said if they are part of the community or not- unfortunately i think that would be extremely damaging to their careers if not ending their careers completely, so we very well may never know….however they did say this project is about “expressing the inner side of the idols you see on stage” and they said this project helped them learn more about themselves, so it was definitely personally meaningful to them and they did resonate with the project in some way, whatever that may be
also this doesn’t necessarily mean anything but there’s an inside joke where one of the members accidentally called himself “hot gay” instead of “hot guy” and at a concert he proudly picked up and held up a pride flag that said “hot gay” lmao and the other members loved it, so the members are at least comfortable being associated with the community whether they are part of it or just fine being associated with it due to their work, you can see in the mv behind the scenes videos they had so so much fun with the project like they loved filming the videos and have expressed multiple times that they were fully comfortable with everything they did and got rlly into it (such as wanting some of the kissing to be real, improvising a lot of scenes in be mine/because)

They're such an amazing group, doing truly amazing things. They DID all have a hand in the production/lyrics for these, and I adore that _they_ choose these video concepts for themselves and are super comfortable with being representative and out there. It's so necessary socially and while yes, they get a lot of flack for it, they also get (and deserve) all the praise for taking concepts and making them easily digestible, beautiful, and relatable to everyone. It really feels like a stigma reducer. Glad you got to do this series, Seb!! Thanks!
I would love to see them live. The clips I've seen from their tour, the unit solo stages looked so good, and they really are a supportive group. Also- I'm loving the pride themed videos this month. The Be series are really good because of the range. It's not just cute romance it's deeper, you see the insecurities, the vulnerabilities. Rie's song implies it's talking about having your first time potentially but not being too comfortable with everything yet. Mill and Nine show the harassment side- Beat makes me think of Holland and how he got punched in the face just for being gay, whilst walking the street with his manager. Begin has such a special place in my heart because it was the first openly queer themed kpop video I saw. I love how more and more kpop artists are being outspoken in support or inclusion. Jaechan from DKZ is another one I really respect, because he acted in Semantic Error playing a gay character, and he had to convince his company to let him, but it ended up reviving his group because it was so popular. However, in interviews and comments he often makes a point to call out heteronormative things, such as rebutting the idea he might feel embarrassed to look like the 'weaker' person in the Semantic Error romance, or saying things like 'I don't have a boyfriend or girlfriend' when playing a game, making that small consistent effort to make sure queer people are included and acknowledged. I hope one day artists can be open in kpop and still be part of mainstream companies, without having to be independent. I love OnlyOneOf for ignoring the hate about libidO and doubling down to make this series. Happy Pride everyone

i was literally watching the undergrOund idOl series last night n i genuinely couldn't stop crying. from the music video to the descriptions, it's just so beautiful. i love all of them, but yoojung's, junji n nine's really grabbed my attention. idk how to explain it, but i can't thank them enough for doing this. i REALLY hope they get the recognition they deserve, they're helping the lgbtq+ community a lot more than they realize. i love them sm.

The 4th song 'because' does not end happily. They meet at the pool some time after the breakup. So they play there. Then in the end only Rie is alone in the pool.
I actually think it does! Not entirely sure because the editing is a bit confusing, but you know how there are two pool scenes? There's the first one with Rie wearing a greenish blouse that ends with the underwater pool kiss, and then there's one with Rie in the blue sweater. I think the scene with the blue sweater comes after the breakup, where they reunite at the pool where they had their first kiss. Then after that that they go to the cafe (the first scene) and share a hesitant kiss, so maybe they got back together? I can't say for sure but I prefer this interpretation anyway lol

The paper cranes only come in 4 videos I think the relation is that they all end up some how at a pay phone and have a moment at the pay phone I think that's one of the commonality's in the video other then the "be#" names there's also the fact that it's a forbidden queer love and it catches one's eye because Korea is probably one of the non friendly LGBT place on earth so knowing a kpop group shows love for the queer community helps and warms others a lot

hey shout out to you as well for reacting to these songs with an open mind and not "making it weird" as people in the stream were saying, bc i've seen some reactors that focus way too much on the fact that they're portraying queer relationships and completely toss aside the music and what they're actually talking about, which obviously sucks because yes, one of the things that sets OOO apart from other groups is their open support to the community, but also their music is SO GOOD. So it's nice to see people react to them and their music and not just because of the shock value of them "acting gay"
