I've just started following the championships and you know what the best part is? They show just as much respect for the Juniors as they do for the Masters, and it's awesome for these players. Just... wow.
One of my local comic/card shops has a factory sealed copy of Black 2 for $500…I had picked up my copy of White 2 for $20 at Walmart during Black Friday years back
If you were paying attention when Fuko's full team was named, she had a Virizion. Using Beat Up on her own Virizion, Virizion's Justified ability (+1 attack when hit by Dark-type moves) would raise its attack to +3 since Beat Up strikes a number of times depending on how many Pokémon you have (up to 3 in VGC), while doing very little damage to it. Virizion is already quite fast, so it would be a huge threat with +3 attack. She didn't use Virizion, however, so Weavile was stuck with Beat Up.
i thought that was pretty cool too. which it made it kinda messed up Brendan didn't give him any credit during the interview. "i made the teams by myself" "i beat my brother every time we play" not cool
It's kind of sad that Fuko lost. She had such a diverse and unique team. That's one of the reasons I like Arash Ommati, who was the masters champion. He used a mamoswine to sweep everything, which is a very uncommon pokemon in competitive battling
Beat Up was for activating Virizion's Justified ability. While the Scope Lens + Night Slash's 25% chance of a critical hit seems nice, other items like Gems, Life Orb, or Focus Sash would be more reliable and therefore more useful, especially as Weavile doesn't typically live as long as it did here.
That was sad! where is the respect the runner up deserves??? making it all the way to the final & loses but had an amazing tournament. very disrespectful. shame on those commentators
51:30 this was kinda key to hear cuz someone that young constructing a badahh team like that and even acting stating that the only aid his brother had in this was “add rotom-w” and then commentator even roasting his bro was even more wild. I come back to this gens comp cuz idk 🤷🏾♂️ it just felt like a breath of fresh air in mons and strats
This is surprisingly interesting. I never looked anything about high level play Pokémon aside Smogon. But when you actually see the machtes unfolds and the commentators explains what is going on. It gets much more interesting even if your last Pokémon game was Pokémon G/S!
You can always use a PokeGTS software, not complicated at all. Just pick the pokemon, its moves, its abilities, its items, and its stats and then go to the GTS in your game and you've got a pokemon.
It seemed obvious. Because it would take a LOT of time to have an EV trained Shiny pokemon with egg moves, perfect IVs, and a perfect nature at the same time.
It's not all about power. You could have a cottonee with substitute, toxic, leech seed and giga drain with prankster as the ability. That could be used extremely well and wreck your Samurott in theory.
hey guys, could someone pls tell me how those guys create their pokemon? do they use pokegen or do they train them by themselves or even use random number generator?
Rock-type moves are much less common. You might come across a Rhyperior or Tyranitar every now and then, especially on trick-room teams, but for the most part you'll come across ice-type moves more frequently than rock
Many legendaries are banned anyway, and it doesn't matter if your Pokémon are level 100 as they will be scaled down to level 50 for the tournament battles.
Its not about advantage its that shiny is a priveledge that is earned through luck or by hard work, the point of shiny Pokemon is that if you have one you found or breed as a rare Pokemon that is not only a good battler but is also a form of trophy status, its like if someone wears a gold medal during their competitions that they made themselves as a replica before they have won anything in the Olympics.
There are a lot of people who pronounce it both ways. Thepikawu also pronounces it skeptile. At least people can tell what someone means by which ever way he/she pronounces it.
I don't know if you know that there are several restriction about the pokemon that you can use... like lists of the tier, and some of the legendaries are in the uber list: something like the pokemon that u can't use in the tournament... Legendaries are not invicibles ;) There are some lendaries that are weaker, so you can use it :)
Could be rng'd. Takes time to do but pokemon obtained this way are indistinguishable from normally caught one. (They are not technically hacked, you are just taking advantage of how the maths works for encounters, eggs, etc.)
This is the same team that she used to get to the finals in the first place, so it's very likely that she used this strategy in many of the qualifying battles and in the bracket. Just like the Swift Swim Kingdra, she simply chose not to use it in this battle. While tides may have turned if a crit happened at the right time, relying on hax to win isn't a good strategy unless it's a decent chance (not 12.5%), as seen with Thundurus' parafusion tactics or Machamp's DynamicPunch confusion.
carai, pensar q eu era um pokinho mais velho q esses mulekes quando comecei a jogar, pokemon blue cara, nao existia internet malandro kkkkkk hj, 20 anos depois, continuo jogando
On Pokémon with Bullet Punch, like Metagross and Scizor, Ice Shard would do a pitiful amount of damage to them, and it would just die uselessly. Ice Shard is for sniping both low-HP Pokémon and Pokémon weak to Ice-type moves like Landorus and Garchomp. Weavile would still be vulnerable to Bullet Punch, but it would attempt to take down the opponent's Pokémon too.
Me, watching, at 45:53 -
"Hey, wait, that's Aaron Zheng. Oh. OHHHHH"
well literally Aaron is there because he is Brendan brother lol
He’s happy because, unlike Aaron, Brendan was able to land a will o wisp
I love how these kids are out here successfully countering a meta and I’m just running mono bug for no reason at all
Tbh
I'd run mono bug, half the pokemon i love are bugs
Wow. These kids would woop me.
Not only you
I've just started following the championships and you know what the best part is? They show just as much respect for the Juniors as they do for the Masters, and it's awesome for these players. Just... wow.
I wish I could rewind time and play black 2 white 2 again... easily my favorite games ever, and it s just so nostalgic
One of my local comic/card shops has a factory sealed copy of Black 2 for $500…I had picked up my copy of White 2 for $20 at Walmart during Black Friday years back
Two very talented trainers... everyone loses at least once, just makes you stronger. Great match.
starts at 17:11
Thank you :T
Thanks
Thanks man
A true hero of justice
Lifesaver!
Brendan's brother was hilarious lol
LegendLurantis ikr
Cybertron's reaction at 52:00 is absolutely priceless

I just love how supportive Brendan's older brother is! I wish mine could take a sliver of interest in my life.
i thought that was pretty cool too. which it made it kinda messed up Brendan didn't give him any credit during the interview.
"i made the teams by myself"
"i beat my brother every time we play"
not cool
Lol, when the kid sees the Perish Song he's like "meh, I've already won" xD
Aaron looked happier than Brendan.
I miss gen 5 sprites so much 😭
This really makes me want to get back into competitive battling again...
I've watched juniors, seniors, and masters, and they were all amazing! Keep uploading stuff like this Pokemon, I love it!
brendan zheng was my classmate in high school lol. never talked to him but every time a new pokemon game came out my friend would bring him up
What a fight. Brendan actually beat the odds (RNG) in that first game.
It's kind of sad that Fuko lost. She had such a diverse and unique team. That's one of the reasons I like Arash Ommati, who was the masters champion. He used a mamoswine to sweep everything, which is a very uncommon pokemon in competitive battling
I was in this... This one korean kid destroyed me... He was pretty funny tho
I was in the tournament not the championship
I really wish i got in this video 😫😩😩😖
I didn't even get on the bracket in this video
@@Red-un5dv ...
Breandens 1st win was just amazing
Brendan was just chewing bubble gum. #Babbytron

Yep. It's hard to understand, but it saves the enormous amount of time that it takes to get shinies and perfect IVs.
i was having war flashbacks this entire match. and i never knew he had a brother, i just assumed it was his son at first.
I might go in 2014 for Pokemon X
***** Or he must be 1st to 8th in LCQ at worlds (I was there)
If both Pokémon VGC and TCG had a wider audience, I'm pretty certain tournaments would get more intensive and difficult than they already are.
I love the music that plays in the finals
That was sad! where is the respect the runner up deserves??? making it all the way to the final & loses but had an amazing tournament. very disrespectful. shame on those commentators
But they're only human, they want perfect people.
Yes she got prize money but where was the respect she deserved from the commentators? None was given since it seemed very cold to me
+Immortal L'Cie Dude, she's Japanese. They usually win.
Doesn't even matter where you come from. atleast show some respect to the runner up
***** I didn't get any support or respect as a runner up in tournament stuff...so yeah.
51:30 this was kinda key to hear cuz someone that young constructing a badahh team like that and even acting stating that the only aid his brother had in this was “add rotom-w” and then commentator even roasting his bro was even more wild. God i love that guy with the horse mask
I want to go do that!!!! but I know I won't ever be able to go because of the areas its in and I will never be able to afford the trip
+Divine Lies Don't quote me on this but I believe if your invited to the championship Pokémon pays for your airfare
The instrumental / theme music is amazing 11:37-12:20
WHERE CAN I GET IT FROM??

You know, I'd watch sports on TV if it were like this xD
17:30 is when the battle actually starts
hey guys, could someone pls tell me how those guys create their pokemon? do they use pokegen or do they train them by themselves or even use random number generator?
i wanna go there but no budget to go there :(
Washington, DC this year.
I live and hour away form DC :D
You know if you have enough CP points they pay a bit...
Rock-type moves are much less common. You might come across a Rhyperior or Tyranitar every now and then, especially on trick-room teams, but for the most part you'll come across ice-type moves more frequently than rock
For laughs, go to 44:22
Such a good game, i wish one day i could go
His real proud of him we can see it in whole match
She seems to have a rain mode but it seems more like an optional mode if rain has good team advantage
Watching this 8 years later lol
She never used the Weavile Verision combo we saw the weavile but the Verision I'm kinda disappointed
those 2 hosts look like theyre gonna go fly a plane with those headsets
Apparently Brendan competes at Eastern Regionals, I swear I live in the area where it usually takes place, probably going there this year.
Im so making the ultimate team and going to try and be the best in the world like I have always imagined
48:15. Welcome to a moment in history.

-Why do you play Pokémon?
-Because it's such a relaxing thing to do.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAX
The 2 kids are so adorable~
I don't know if you know that there are several restriction about the pokemon that you can use... like lists of the tier, and some of the legendaries are in the uber list: something like the pokemon that u can't use in the tournament... The boy is right! The senior cup needs many more predictions! I loved this little guy! ;)
how did i not know this was in Vancouver?? I LIVE RIGHT THERE :(
I think he meant that he wants a battle like the Anime with everyone having catchable wild pokemon
Could be rng'd. Takes time to do but pokemon obtained this way are indistinguishable from normally caught one. (They are not technically hacked, you are just taking advantage of how the maths works for encounters, eggs, etc.)
Love the matches and how Brendan played but...
Chewing gum during an interview just irks me.
Why
Beat up in combination with Justified from Virizion is amazing. Perish song can really help you get back in the game... you are wrong
IVs only affected shinies in 2nd generation. Knowing your Secret ID, you can RNG Pokémon to be shiny without hacking.
Who's the guy that keeps on standing up when Brendan makes a good play?
Bit late to reply but the one jumping up Is Aaron Zheng, Brendan's older brother
thety actually have commentators for this match, amazing!
I would love if it had gone, but I live too far away. I'm so so sorry for not going. It's a dream to participate.
I love this vid!! I love pwc vg sooo much!! Its my dream to enter!!
Cant wait for gen6 VGCs
It’s 2019 what am I doing here
Hahahaha
2022
Will you be posting the other division match-ups too?
The Pokegen is real with this one.
They can detect hacked pokes but RnG is allowed.
ColdFlare X
Well, if all your inputs are correct, hacks seem like normal or RNG'd Pokemon, so yeah most likely hacked.
This video is terrible. Where is the dubstep and the random "NOSCOPE" sounds?
Wow. What a comment for its time.
With knowledge or your secret ID, you can RNG Pokémon to be shiny.

Weavile should have done some dark/ghost attacks to Cresselia a bit in the beginning to get it out of the way.
I miss BW2 era...
Came for Escavalier.
Where is next years?!
We should have tag battles for the first round of vgc, it would be fun
Am I the only one triggered that kid spelling sceptile wrong at 13:50
True, but your timing must be right for perish song and he didn't use virizion, so that combo doesn't work either.
17:10 battle starts
carai, pensar q eu era um pokinho mais velho q esses mulekes quando comecei a jogar, pokemon blue cara, nao existia internet malandro kkkkkk hj, 20 anos depois, continuo jogando
quarantine brought me here.
Look At 1:49 This Boy Wants Attention
Wow... It was in my home country the entire time and I never even knew it.
It's called Junior finals for a reason...
i wonder, is this sort of thing invite-only, or can you buy tickets before the event...
Gotta be good enough, so it's invite
This is old, but you are able to spectate live.
You can use Pokemon generator to make pokemon with wanted EVs and IVs. You can that way also turn them into shinies
When and where's the next poke. vg champs gonna be?
then whats the point of playing x/y if you show you everything in the videos. just wait till October and play it.
Battle starts at 17:05
Brendan only hacked the Shiny Pokemon...
But he did not hack in the game because I am pretty sure they won't let DSI Action Replays in Tournaments.
guys....... nothing is hacked. although the game was abused to get them but they are still legal and dont break any rules
I know.... But he probably hacked the shinies which is completely fine!
he didnt hack the shinies is what im saying......
her name in game was fuuko so why does it say at the bottom of the screen say fuko

Is it always a double battle?
Yeah. More people would be able to enter because to get a team that most people use, is very difficult just to find.
