I love COIN games for exactly this reason, for the narratives they provide us. Yes, you can argue that less is left to the imagination because the event texts explicitly tell us what happened, but seeing a story unfold because of a certain string of events coming out is always fascinating and interesting; imaging alternate histories, or trying to reproduce history, I just have a blast with them.
