INSANE Mearns Quail action!

The Arizona adventure has started with a bang! The first week we have found good success on mearns gambles and scales quail.
This video is some of my favorite moments from Mearns. Good dog work, great friends, and beautiful country.

Thanks for sharing! My first experience hunting them clown quail as young man in 1984. It was a sunny day and about 4" of snow on the ground. I was fortunate to work with AZ Game and Fish Dept. and participate in a lot of Mearns quail hunting and biology opportunities over the next twenty plus years. them. Can't wait for my next hunt! Good stuff Tyler! As I watch these to learn about AZ quail, one thing I realize is how good they are at using trees to block your shots. I hope you are doing well in this brutal winter.

Cool video! I'm a UT Chukar guy and I'll be hitting southern AZ for my first Mearn's hunt the day after Christmas (all week there) with my 4 Pointers. Looking forward to figuring out a new species. Mearns are the last quail species I have to complete all 6. Really excited for it and I appreciate the video!

You will love Mearns hunting! You have pointers so you have a distinct advantage. Bring lots of shells! Please leave seed! Don't be like many hunters that hunt to shoot their limit. Limits are for administrators.

I like to carry them and I shoot Boss Shotshells 5s to 8s depending on what I’m chasing. Thank you!!!!
