If you're from an EU country this will take some time probably. The whole class action lawsuit thingy isn't legal in the EU because a company can't set terms on which they want to get sued on here. As well as the age of 18+ to agree the EULA. Epic has to set the game's age restriction for every country to 18+ (currently 12 or 13+ for many EU countries) OR provide a method to authenticate your age via an ID or a passport which they most likely won't do, and changing the age restriction will take some time.

@@DangitKev I’ve heard forced arbitration be viewed negatively. So is it good or bad?
@@nobbyfirefly57 anything forced is bad imo but I'm really not sure how much legal weight this will have if you actually took them to court
I feel like what they mean about the creative maps is that they could use it in trailers, posts, and for any media or info when ever they want without having to ask. Like for example, I make a creative map and epic games later uses it to advertise creating in fortnite.
this class action law suit shit should be illegal, that like giving a piece of paper to police which says if you sign it you cant arest me
😂
This is why Valve stays winning and why companies who try to be Valve are getting worse. But also it is weird that they release this when they teased the you know what skin bundle that recently got released yesterday
This was the first time I read a Eula and I saw something talking abt agreeing to waiver the lawsuit if u agree to this Eula and I didn't know if this was abt the settlement that js happened
It's to try and prevent future ones
@DangitKev I got curious again and went to epic games website and in my account area there's a euls history so I went and checked other fortnite eulas and v5 had it. I didn't check others but v5 has got to be a lot older then v9 of the eula that js came out. I'm sure we're fine tho
Underrated channel, 400 subs is criminal
Thank you so much! I started with 4 before this video so I am beyond grateful!
I think the reason they’re sending this is because of the ftc refund. They had to refund 600,000 people.
still waiting on my money.
@ Let me guess, you used your parent’s credit card without their permission to buy skins or you bought skins by accident?

I'm trying to figure out what is happening for some poeple. What console are you on?
what do you mean "you cant go to court with epic" you cant just do that
Fr, at this point i wouldn't be surprised if they put "laws don't apply to us, you cant do anything about it"
I dont remember getting this eula in my game. I logged in last night and i didnt see it.
@@ImMrHay it rolled out a few days ago but if you're not in the US, they still might be working on one for you.
@@DangitKev i’m in the us. But i may have terrible memory
I accepted it but when I queue for a match, it’s not letting me join a match, I have to wait infinitely
@@GreenarrGaming I think there's an update tonight so that could be why
Great video! Very helpful
People will always ruin good things....ALWAYS!!
Unfortunately :(
@@DangitKevwhat happened? What was the precursor to this new EULA?
@@TooBanger The EULA seems to be in response to the class action lawsuit so they might be getting more strict on things to make sure they don't get hit again.
@@DangitKev Who hit them with the class action lawsuit?
@@TooBanger the Federal Trade Commission
thanks for the video !
So we just accept it and only have to follow the rules?
@@WhalenParacuelles pretty much but also you can't ever take them to court which sounds similar to the Disney+ situation tbh
Do I have to be? 18? Because my not:(
@@presleygrismer5403 a parent can also agree to this for you. Your parents could watch this or read the EULA on Epic's website.
@@DangitKev By the way this whole lawsuit thing has always been in the TOS ever since the game began. You can go check fortnites old EULA. It is done to protect you and epic, but that doesn't mean you can't sue them. They got sued by the FTC for $500,000,000 and you guessed it. The EULA had that in there.
@@ilostaura I didn't know it was in the old one. If that's true then I guess there's not a lot of legal weight behind a lot of these rules.
Knowing how epic bans friendlies and Pickaxe swinging, "Unfair advantage" is a little ambiguous
1:00 its probably going to be for ads for the game and other things to do with marketing mumbo jumbo
Yeah like showing it in those random creative ads they do
No one is above the law, not even companies

I still don't understand how they are able to ban a whole class of lawsuits. Shouldn't the lawsuit matter more than the type of lawsuit brought forth? How is something so generic like that even legal? Oh yeah the government is cooked.
