Hello. My friend, who passed away a couples years back, commissioned me to transport 0969GT, (72/White), # 159 since the 60's,pictured here in this video. It had been setting in storage for 47 years. Only driven twice in Colorado, a couple times in California since the owners purchase.
He purchased the Ferrari 250GT Berlinetta Scaglietti in the 60's, after it was race track rolled/repaired at Larry's
Auto Body in California. Around 1965. In this race, it is being driven by Willy Marese .
I transported it at short notice after getting it running. The centrifugal springs were weak after these many years(so the dual distributors
were working, but not correctly. The Triple Weber carbs were cleaned, cooling system flushed and repaired. This car had many issues
    to overcome,brakes,electrical,fuel system,Windshield,etc.
It arrived on three days notice at the 2015 Ferrari Reunion. Admirals Phillips and his 1955 Blue Mondial were in Bay One.
0969GT was placed in Bay 2 after our crew and myself were given notice there had bee a Photo shoot, so without too much delay,
The Ferrari Club of America president gave me a tour in the golf cart, explained when our assigned Bay would be available.
When we parked our RV at the Chaparral campground, I had just parked our race trailer next to it.
I walked over to some Ferrari owners and enthusiasts, and complemented their autos. They asked what car I owned.
I said none, but mentioned that I had a 1958 250GT TDF in the trailer. They just looked incredulous, and said B.S. That response came
from the owner of the "NEXT" ( license plate.
He then challenged me to a title for title race, he to race the "TDF" with his RV.LOL!
At that point , a friend of the TDF owner, his name is Tom Shannasy , rolled up with his transport trailer and tow rig.
He talked to the "NeXT" plate, whom inquired about the TDF. When Tom replied that I wasn't kidding, they all looked a bit humbled.
They all then strolled over to get a look-see.
    Race over! LOL.!
When 0969GT rolled out of our transporter, into the Bay 2 confines, Admiral Philips came over to me and pledged any help we needed
to get the TDF on the track, including tools and his mechanics
A CLASS ACT , that man is, and quite the Gentleman too.
We had help and advice galore. The car rolled out ,right behind the Chrome and red McClaren, for the owner/driver tour.
I rode with the owner, as he was sorely handicapped physically, with full face helmet on. He was able to
make 8+ laps before we returned to the paddock.
    A fulfilled Bucket Wish !
The car is in the photo shoot. It upset the McClaren for the Pole position and the MOMO was next in line.
I cannot fathom why Admiral Philips Mondial was not right down front.
After the photo shoot , the car toured around with guests for many laps. I acted on the "PIT CREW" , making sure the fuel
was replenished, as we had to install a marine fuel tank,in the boot, for the interim.
My wife, who took care of food /car cleaning and prep(CAR CREW MOM) AND OTHER lOGISTICS,
spent 20 minutes on the Beach at Carmel By The Sea, a short walk from the owner's brothers home.
We were feted for a job well done, at a local restaurant(excellent food and staff) and
then rested for the night. We eventually packed up and headed home.
The car returned to Laguna Seca in 2017. I was not able to attend.
My wife composed a trip journal/book that details the trip in full.
My fond memories compel me to say that the comradery and assistance
from all the people whom we encountered was most memorable and heartfelt.
The car has returned to it's hiding place.
Rest In Peace to the TDF!
    Rest in Peace MY Friend
