    So how much $$ for the motor and battery?

  • @kajakmannen1666
    @kajakmannen1666 3 ปีที่แล้ว +19

    6000$ spent on the drivetrain, 60$ spent on drone camera;)

    Was there no money left in the budget for the drone and editing?

      None what so ever..lol. This video was made in the early days of the venture. I’ll have to do an updated video with the current Navy 6 and the new drone.

    What shaft length do you recommend on the Epropulsion? Extra short, short or standard?

    • @skybluadventures4649
      @skybluadventures4649  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      HI Rick, Short is the way to go in most cases. On a Takacat you can use an extra short with an anti cavitation plate if you want the least possible draft.

    Great set up and eco friendly but just so expensive at this moment in time, the future now is always expensive.

    Get rid of the background music, it spoils the whole vibe of the electric motor...

    How did you install your gps and live scope to fish on that Takacat? Thx

    • @skybluadventures4649
      @skybluadventures4649  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A couple of options are to install the GPS mount to the transom bars if you have the round bars using clamp mounts and the transducer can also be mounted on the round bottom tube with similar clamp mounts. If you have the newer square tube transom bars, you can use the wheel bracket to attach an L bracket to mount the transducer. You can also mount the GPS by gluing a mount base to the top of the tubes using a RailBlaza mount as well.

    What is the weight of the batteries you're using?

    • @skybluadventures4649
      @skybluadventures4649  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Charles,
      Thank you for your question. In this video I was using two Navy batteries which are 3000 Wh each and weigh about 68lbs.

    What is the speed the 340lx starts to plane? Can you plane with this Motor with 4 adults in the boat as well? Thinking of getting one myself....

    • @richarddegen6184
      @richarddegen6184 ปีที่แล้ว

      doubtful

    • @skybluadventures4649
      @skybluadventures4649  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      340lx planes at about 10knots. 10hp gas or electric is enough to plane it with 2 “adults”. 4 full size adults requires 15hp.

    All sorts of nessary usefull information missing The weight and aps voltage type of batterry normally the e propulsion packs are 48 volts . Amp draw at 12.4 knots at full gas looks to be if there is 6000 watt with two 3000p 48 volt acks is 125 amp .. Would be good know prop size RPM of engine and other info to know if the engine is interesting .Those cat dingy are amazing with small to larger petrol engines and the performance speed on electric looks good plaining at 10.5 knots .

    What's the seat from? I don't see any other takacat come with a seat

    • @skybluadventures4649
      @skybluadventures4649  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mao C, there is a inflatable tube seat that comes with each Takacat. Unfortunately, there are not many pictures of it. It’s mostly used if you want to row the boat. The seat you see in this video was a plastic panel that was modified for testing and is not available for sale.

    As manufacturers data shows OUTPUT power and speed is similar to 4hp gas. 10 hp of what, cornflakes? Quiet, low vibrations OK but much heavier than 4hp 4 stroke. Don't be fooled.

    • @skybluadventures4649
      @skybluadventures4649  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the comment ot1k. 4hp in a gas motor does not plane a Takacat. As a dealer, I’ve run them with gas from 3hp to 20hp and electric from 3hp to 10hp. Epropulsion rates the Navy 6 at 10hp, which is demonstrated by it’s ability to plane the Takacat 340LX and the speed achieved is also indicative 😉 .

      Gas still wins the energy density game but electric motors are superior in almost every other way. Don't be afraid to put on a few pounds 😂
