    I started back in 2013. I joined Knight a while back because they offered me 7 days on and 7 days off. I make anywhere from 52 cents to 60 something depending on the load or whatever. There is also that extra 6 cents bonus or whatever it was. I feel like it's an okay pay for what I get. I seem to have a lot of power in choosing how long I want to work and when I want to go home. I'm really hoping to pay off the house in around 2 years and then work even less then 7 days on and 7 days off. 10 years seems to have gone by fast. I think I might look around for something that pays around 70 cents per mile to finish paying off the house and not even try buying a semi truck. I appreciate you, dude. Knight seems to be looked down on as a low paying company. Haha!

    That’s insane making the same profit as a company driver but owning a truck…

      It's happens, when I was stuck with western express lease purchase between the truck repairs an truck payment, I should of been a company driver, mind you I picked&chose my own loads...So that was the plus side, I was always running, only way could of finished lease...

    This is the transparency I need to see. Numbers would definitely be better with an authority. $2.55 loaded for van is a solid average in today’s market. Seeing that the avg van spot rate is $1.95 a mile. Gonna be a solid carrier knowing your numbers. $1 a mile P/L minimum is every obtainable with an authority.

    So you went to SLC for right around 2.60 RPM with the DH to Kingman, AZ... Ew ew, wee... Ouch!! Then you still gotta pay Landstar 35% off that!! Plus all your regular expenses... Damm!! 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️

      Auxiliary power unit. Its a separate system to run the AC that doesn't require you to idle the trucks engine.

    Have you tried to find dedicated lanes?? That’s a lot of running. LS is all about finding those dedicated lanes brother. Short runs in a triangle will be your friend. Fed ex freight will be hitting soon and UPS. Kroger used to hit in the fall not sure but you should look at hazmat as well my friend

    • @truckingthesevenseas
      @truckingthesevenseas  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Honestly just getting the swing of things... If I find an agent running dedicated that works I'll hop on it but I'm still playing around with the routes.

      @@truckingthesevenseas I understand. I’m not sure what state you are out of but you can really maximize the LS loadboard to work for you by setting load alerts and you will get calls from brokers on loads that don’t even hit the board. Key is to work with 3 good brokers that have 100s or even 1000s of loads available and they will even find you freight if you build rapport. Good luck my friend.

    Can you show some flatbed markets on the load board WA OR CA AZ area

    You should adjust your daily burn rate (the 2500) so that your calorie count weight loss equals your actual weigh-in weight loss.

    You could've done CABS class at any terminal that offers cabs, about 4 of them.

    Are you tracking fuel consumption and MPG?

    • @truckingthesevenseas
      @truckingthesevenseas  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven't been but looking at my fuel CPM I should probably pay closer attention. My trucks MPG is 7.5 according to the dash though.

    • @scottmiller826
      @scottmiller826 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@truckingthesevenseas the dash display is great for comparison on the road, but does not represent your actual MPG for the P & L obtained from calculated from gallons and miles. I like your spread sheet. It should be easy to add MPG since you already have most of the data. Also be sure you are tracking actual miles run vs the quoted miles from the load board. Expect about a 5% variance.
