The Gold Scorpion did a wonderful job of hitting those small nuggets it was very impressive for it's age , butt they are both solid state detectors . Glad you posted ..
The smaller the gold the lower the number, it can actually be in the iron range its so small until it does not register at all. But i'll do another test soon to show the number ID.
The solid srate detectors are very accurate if you are familiar, just bought the at gold and hope it is far better than the ace 350. The waterproof feature and iron grunt are great features.
Thanks for the great video, I have been contemplating getting the AT gold, I just got the Infinium but it has a hard time picking up those small nuggets .7 gram and under. Looks like the AT Gold does a great job, also can be used for other types of hunting too. Im sold.
Yeh it does ok on most soil here, but it can be challenged quite a bit in N. California and some pockets I have found in S. Oregon. Hotter than hell this dirt...had to break out my Infinium.
Was all metal but discrimination was at like 7. Should be ZERO. Knowing how they work helps. Only reason those AT got more attention was they are for dummys/lazy people.
Great vid!!! I would love to know what the Target ID was reading for the different nuggets on the AT Gold! Also did you try a low Iron Audio to see how the AT reacted? Garrett says small gold can give a iron response sometimes!
Interesting video sir. But honestly , I'd use or buy the scorpion. I much prefer analog detectors. Digital are ok , till u start having probs with that digital display. It mite happen , and it mite not. But I'd (and will when I can find a good one) buy a scorpion over the AT. No offense , just personal preference. HH GL.
Hello Beartkat 4160, I am writing to you from Argentina, I have the same Garrett Scorpion detector and I wanted to ask you if the volume can be lowered, I turn the control but it is always very high. Thanks for your help. Sorry for my English.

Put the Scorpion on all metal manual mode (not auto audio) ground balanced and the sensitivity and detection distance double .
