Do you have to have Tesla solar to see the app work? They don't offer Tesla solar in Ohio yet. As long as I get a power wall I can see the app work. right? Thanks
You don't need Tesla solar to see the app. You only need powerwalls to get access to the app. If you have a pre-exisiting solar, the tesla app will monitor that too.
Any of you having Tesla solar without powerwall? I can't see nothing on the app beside the total of daily kwh. Asking Tesla and they said because I don't have powerwall connect to inverter.
Any guess when Tesla will come out with a Powerwall 3 (28kWh, 26kWh useable), but only 1.5 times as expensive as a single Powerwall? Hopefully, It will be fully integrated (all required components built-in), and more plug and play install.
I would guess within 1 year after Battery Day (Sept 22nd) the Powerwall 3 will be released with the new Cell Chemistry and manufacturing process. The new battery tech will go into new products first, such as Semi, Cyber Truck and Roadster. Might even go into Models S & X before that, but I wouldn't hold my breathe. I would bet that they will go into Powerwalls, Model 3 & Y and last. Tesla has a huge amount of capital invested in the existing cell lines and I think it will take quite some time to get those switched over to the new dry electrode cells. We will find out more on Battery Day.
Could someone please explain how to initialize the app on my network and make the initial connection to my solar system? I have a Solar City system, and they provided a gateway connector, but nothing connects...
Powerwall 2 is better than anything out there... but they are too small and too expensive right now for most people. In Ca. PG&E has a Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP). PG&E provides incentives when you install a battery storage system. Point of use energy generation and storage is the future for all homes on-grid or off-grid.
Prices will continue to fall on lithium ion batteries, in large part because of Tesla. Keep on eye on Sept 22nd, Tesla's Battery Day announcements. They will get better and cheaper.
What size was the solar setup used in this demo? 107 kWh in a day is huge. My 8.4 kw in Virginia where I do have some shading from trees, my largest output ever in almost 4 years is 44 kWh in a day
Love the videos.keep making more 👍

How much KW of solar panels do you have?
Tesla app rounds to the nearest .1kw (100 watts) 149 watts will read as .1kw. 251 watts will read as .3kw.
Can you help me connect to the app please I can only monitor mine over the sign in page.
Iove your channel
Why couldn't we skip the tutorial as to how to download the app. Anyone with a smartphone knows how to.
How long did it take from u buying it to intallation?
Hi I really need to change the internet on my powerwall, how can I do it?

Did you figure it out? I’m in same position
100 KWh in a day... we wouldn't use that in a week here in Sydney LOL
thank you very much this video

That is a 19kw system in Kihei, which gets a LOT of Sun hours. This customer likes to use energy.
