True. Conmebol should be punishing itself for terrible event management & security.
@@LiveLethal Only issue is Conmebol isn’t organizing anything. Its the US Federation
@@VantaBlackhole I would assume it's a collaboration, at least. USSF is an absolute dumpster fire of an organization, their involvement only serves to make things worse. So yeah, they definitely share a lot of the blame.

Any Real Man would protect their family. Justified!

Sequence of events … indeed . Brawl starts right after the final whistle . How does that relate to families being threatened ?
Nunez should be given an award!!! Great stuff!!!
Passion keeps getting misused for stupidity. It’s a deflection using that word.
If you go back to every loss that Uruguay has had in World Cups and Copa Americas they have scuffles and bites at the end.
We don’t have the complete details but if Darwin was protecting his family. Much respect to him
Nope. Don’t bring your family. Nothing to respect there. He knows better than anyone how violent it can get. What kind of idiot brings little kids to an Uruguay/Colombia knockout game?

I hate to watch Uruguay play soccer. They think it is the 30s. The sad part is they have skills but refuse to play the beautiful game in any attractive way.
Fans tailgate and drink before games cuz alcohol is too expensive in the stadium.

@@theaquariancontrarian3316 Yes, when the players were fighting after the game.
Uruguay needed El Matador
In this context, the idea that players shouldn’t have gone into the stands is bullshit.
If there were authorities in the stands managing it, that’s a different story. What if one of the fans had a weapon? There were no police there for ages.
The precedent set and any consequences should be burdened on the organisers of the stadium and not the players.
The players are there to play not manage the crowd. In the absence of anyone in uniform managing the crowd and their own families were in the cross fire, I think the players reacted reasonably and proportionally
stupid reasoning, players are there to GIVE EXAMPLE, they represent their team and others when behaving and this was a mistake, and also if i was him, i do NOT incite more violence, i take care of my family 1st and leave with them, not go up to the stands and make it worse.

You people from Europe should know that this behavior from Uruguay national team is a classic, you can find the videos of Copa América 2015 where they also were defeated on quarterfinals, they punch everyone, 4 different players even hit the referees and received no sanction at all. CONMEBOL is the one to blame for this behavior since never put a stop to the AUF for this kind of behavior repeating since decades.
It’s hard to defend Nuñez’s actions because the video footage we’ve seen, doesn’t show him trying to protect his family, only him throwing punches. Now if he’d gone in there and got his family out of that situation he wouldn’t be facing a ban.
Fair play to Jurgen Klinsmann for pointing out the positives of the Qatar World Cup. Not many in the media who will do that
Malice in the Palace vibes , i watched it live it was crazy 😢

We had a Copa America in 2016 No Issues
Maybe the problem is the fans and players in this instance and there should be some arrests to send a message that in this country, you don't get to assault people.

I was there. Two groups of fans kicked it off with each other right after the final whistle. About 10 rows above me in section 508. Conmebol should be fined for allowing this to happening. Along with the organizers of the stadium. Fans will get out of control and should be penalized for that but they're behaviour is a given. Organizing an event where this happens requires responsibility and accountability.
Where’s the security in the ground ?
Bro their families were in the stands they only went to fight to protect their families
Look for uruguay fight history after games. No video shows kids or women get punch. In any stadium, you get insults, but you dont fight.
If you can't defend your own family members from being attacked, then what's the point.

Well done to Jurgen for bringing up Qatar and what an amazing WC it was.
If it wasn't for that security guard, the chair would have hit the people in the crowd and there were women, children and there was even a Liverpool fan .
He need to calm himself down I understand he was doing it for his family , but when he threw the chair his wife was seen watching him on the field with her son , so clearly he just did that in anger.

There is no professionalism and strict adherence to the spirit of football as fully expected of the Uruguay football team and Nunez. His actions are not only unacceptable but extremely dangerous, bordering on a serious criminal act, punishable by a prison term. It doesn't matter if someone was hit and seriously injured. The animalistic intent to harm a fan was there. FIFA should ban Nunez for a year. Despicable action!!
How long was the match ban for Cantona? 😂
What Nunez did is not acceptable. One year out, just like Ron Artest.

Just like fighting in the South American sports , we tailgate here in the US , security should have been better.

We drink prior to the game because the stadium beer prices are ridiculous
Burley is insane for thinking bar fights are the norm in the world of football
Clearly the suspension if any should be INTERNATIONAL team only
We can understand why the players got involved??? Can we ensure the lady reporter who said that on your show stands down, leading to possible termination?
That is absolutely false, and no players should react in that hooligan kind of way, especially when the player was seen leading a large group to beat up others.
Patrice Evra was banned less than a year, not three or four years
How long has Nat Philips been on ESPN?
I agree with you guys. This guy is way over payed and the nerve he had to jump over the fence beat the fans ? This is unacceptable. He should get suspended forever. Now I’m scared to go watch any games that he’s in because I might be next to get punched . Oh men Guy is scary . 🤦
Wonder what they will do to Betancur for cracking a guy in the head with a metal water bottle🤦🏻♂️ or the old man in the family section that started a brawl by throwing punches when they lost🤷🏻♂️ ( all on video😳)
Is US ready to host world cup, they underestimate the passion of football, this is the question.
It has an obvious answer. They don't care. It's only about money for them, and if fights break out,oh,well. They'll just show the fights on the news, and say "fOrEiGnErS dOn'T kNoW hOw To AcT...aNd iT's cALLeD SoCcEr!" 🤤

Great comment by Jurgen about booze and the Qatar World Cup.
Far be it for me to applaud Qatar, but on that issue, points to them for not caving into FIFA as Brazil was forced to in 2014.
Yet, Uruguay got into a fight after the game they lost. It's not the booze, it's the people. they are sore losers!
While leon Bailey miss the opening game for jamaica, because of his party. Yet the Jamaican federation think twice to whether or not they want to suspend him 😅😅
Why do they have such boring pundits on
The whole theme of families’ lives being in danger… there is zero evidence this happened. Plenty of evidence of Uruguay’s directives throwing things to the crowd from their private balcony. It seems irresponsible to poke the crowd and then scream victim. How about throwing glass bottles from the field to the stands? A Uruguay player threw one and hit a Uruguay tech in the head ( can’t make this stuff up!). And Núñez trying to throw a chair to the stands, not defending anyone then. If fans are attacked do they have a right to defend themselves as well?. So maybe the whole story should be verified before the fans are solely to blame.
This was a mess, kinda see both sides Darwin was mad at loosing and mad at the insults being thrown at his family and teammate's families. And the institution putting on these games have to do better , no alcohol better separating the clubs fans, period there is blames on all sides.
On this the Qataris got it right.
