Congratulations on what must be the stupidest, most willfully ignorant comment I've ever seen.
Per TH-cam, "We also saw the dislike count harming parts of our ecosystem through dislike attacks as people actively worked to drive up the number of dislikes on a creator's videos." The creator can still see how many thumbs down there are, but the viewers can not. They also changed the way the algorithm sees the dislike, it doesn't seem to have a negative effect anymore.

My wife bought 4 Apple Airtags, for a recent airlines trip, out of the country. We placed 1 each, inside our checked baggage, and our carry on bags. No problems with flight down.
When we returned to the Atlanta airport, we parked at the Domestic gate. While our (everyones) luggage got sent to the International Gate! We were waiting at the Domestic baggage claim... Then I said "Wife, check the Airtags to see where the bags are!" And boom, her phone displayed our 2 tags at the domestic gate, and the other 2 at the International baggage claim!
Then we had to take a shuttle bus way the F%#K over to the International side and get our luggage! F'N Delta!
But, the Airtags worked, and we found our stuff! (A few other travelers did the same thing.)
I don't carry an Iphone, but it did save the day, that time! 😊
I have a similar story except my luggage was in Seattle when it should’ve been in Chicago.

Samsung and Tile both have airtag - like devices.
However it should be pointed out that both Samsung and Tile lack the network of over 1Billion phones actively seeking/collecting location data for them like Airtags have.

We invented “shortwave” communications when we were kids by poking a small hole in the bottom of two paper cups and running a piece of twine about 30’ through the hole in each cup from the outside to the inside, and tying a knot to secure the twine in place in the inside of each cup. Then, we would relocate our teams to the requisite distance allowed by the length of the twine, utilizing all the recon training we got from reading our subscription to Boy’s Life Magazine, and we could communicate our plans for exercises such as “Ultimate-Ding-Dong-Ditch” with brown paper lunch bags filled with dog poo that we would put on a target doorstep, light on fire, hit the bell, and sprint to the pre-ordained observation area to extract the maximum laugh value.
Too bad TH-cam won’t let me upload a diagram of the schematics. We were dumb back in the sixties. If we knew the awesomeness of our invention back then, we would be rich.

One clarification should be made. The phone detecting the AirTag sends its own location and not the AirTag’s precise location. A friend had one on her cat and she kept thinking the cat was right next to her.
Do they need relatively clear view of GPS sats? Do they work in a glove box? Trunk? Pocket or bag?

Randy, Great information! I have 4 AirTags. 2 on our cars, and 1 on each of our car keys. The service is outstanding‼️So far, have only had to replace 1 battery!
From the comparisons you provided, I believe the AirTag is the best option, unless you’re an Android smartphone owner.
Tile also makes one, but I’m not familiar with it’s operation.

Since you did this video I was wondering if you knew anything about dog collar trackers. I go into the mountains a lot and would love to let my dog off her lead and let her run without worry. Is there any trackers (besides the apple) that you know of that doesn't require cell service?
Tile and a few other companies make small trackers similar to the Apple Airtag, but because they dont have that network of 1-billion+ devices, they arent nearly as effective.
@TheNotaRubicon rgr that thanks. I've been looking at trackers for hunting dogs but I don't want to spend that kind of money. I'll look into Tile.
@@durby580hunting dog trackers is the only thing that will work in the extreme rural areas. The collar has a powerful VHF frequency transmitter but even it's range can drop to a few hundred feet in certain situations. They use a directional antenna to point to the direction of the collar. If you know how radio frequencies travel, you'll do okay with a hunting tracker. Frequencies just don't magically appear, they have to be broadcast. VHF needs more power but will travel through heavy greenery and over hills where cellphone frequencies won't. No, do not trust anything other than hunting dog trackers in the deep rural areas.

land air sea is by far the best tracker out there. the battery life on a 3 sec update is about a month or longer depending how often that person is driving. imagine leaving it to update for every minute.40 dollars a month. Cube tracker will be my 2nd options for a tracker. 20 a month long battery life. Angel sense tracker allows you to call it and hear conversation but battery life is about 24 hours.

I think they do have a locator beeping sound, to help you find the airtag.
The AirTag is the most goodest one for sure.

I have had a couple occasions where I over heard my neighbor talking about the same things I was discussing over a phone. And it's been more then once. And long story short her husband works for the state. And I disused this with a freind who works for the phone company. She said the stand close to my cordless receiver base. I just find it odd. And I kinda figure if they have a scanner or something. It could pick up my signal.
If you are really concerned about it there is a very simple fix - just use a corded phone.

I had one put on my vehicle by a potential thief. My phone alerted me that there was one moving with me.
Fortunately it fell off and I keep my keys in a signal blocking container. The misuse of these is outpacing the good use.
There apparently is an Android app for finding airtags, or any bluetooth device. But it is no where near as accurate as having the iphone app. But will scan and find any bluetooth tracker devices around you. I don't have this app, and am not sure of its real world range. But you could discover someone was tracking you! 😮
One is voluntary, the other is government.
Either way, we are being tracked.

This is a major point. Smart Tags do NOT have GPS in them. I'm guessing that technology requires too much energy to be in a compact form factor. This is why I won't be buying one. Because I want to use it hiking, or off grid. Smart Tags would be useless there.
I made my own GPS tracker with a USB GPS, USB LTE modem, RasPi 3 and python, it's connected my VPN so I can connect to it from basically anywhere, I can go to the web page and it will show me its current location (I also set up a parser to give me a Google maps link too) and a few other stats.
The script also has the functionality to send its location via UDP packets to my desktop, so it will constantly send the location to my computer, and if it goes offline my computer still has its last transmitted locations
