      Thanks Boris! The bathroom as whole took plenty of time and it's actually been a struggle to get it done and find the time to make videos. Some tasks in there took no time at all and I usually mention those when they surprise me that they don't take longer. :)

    A master-class as always. So many little things, like stainless fasteners, vertical stripes of mirror glue for air flow, flooring varnish for durability, your clever jigs for ripping 45s and for placing the final cab. All the little tips that you see in these videos are priceless. Great stuff...

    Looks fantastic Neil! I learned a lesson remodeling both my bathrooms, however long you think it will take you - double it because it takes a lot longer than you think. Side note - I received my Dart. It is a work of art. What took me by surprise was how perfect the weight is. It feels really good in your hand. I'm afraid to use it because I've rarely had something this nice. Thank you!

      Really? what about GFI outlets?

    • @minimanjos84
      @minimanjos84 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@zTribalstylerz doesn't matter. We use zones, zone 0 is basically in a bath/shower, nothing higher than 12vac or 30vdc. Zone 1 is the outline of the bath/shower up to the ceiling, nothing higher than 25vac or 60vdc, unless it's IPx4 or higher, and requires a tool to open (an electric shower). Zone 2 is 0.6m around zone 1, and can be anything but must be IPx4 minimum.
      And now that I've said all that, I've remembered around a sink is zone 2, so if it's IPx4 or higher, then it's fine! Gotta be on an RCD though (our version of GFI)

The bathroom cabinet has push magnets I've been wanting to replace for a while now, and your cabinet is the perfect replacement, especially since it has much more room than the 2" deep current one has. The topper is the name of the wood. It's awesome.

    Omg omg omg!!! I’ve been waiting for this one!!! Currently I’m undergoing a bath reno too, I built my own solid hickory vanity, first time to build something more large and with bridle joints and half laps… such a stressful blast! Anyways a company wanted $1100 for a quartz vanity top that’s only 31 1/4” long… no freakin way so I’m working on a concrete form for my own white cement top. Back when looking for a medicine cabinet, I wanted the same exact modern rounded edges, inset cabinet with brass not gold, black or bronze and that was a nightmare to find what I was needing. I finally did but all along I kept thinking I should build my own and now I regret that I didn’t! Such a stunning mirror cabinet, vanity, concrete sink and the entire bathroom is gorgeous and well done 🤟🏼

    a tip If you ever need a mirror for another project. I had to use one for an infinity table a few years ago. I essentially found an old mirror at a yard sale and used a local class cutting company to cut it to shape for me. My mirror was square versus rounded but maybe try checking thought next time. If i remember correctly, I bought the mirror for 5 - 10 US dollars, then for the mirror to be cut maybe 10 at most. Hope this helps

    Wow! Great minds really DO think alike. I've been rolling ideas for a bathroom cabinet like this around in my head for the past few weeks. I was planning on putting an electrical outlet in mine too. The differences are that my plan for the outlet is to have it on the side where you can access it without having to have the cabinet door open. For plugging in blow dryer mostly. Also, for my door I've been eyeballing those mirrors that have LED lighting built right in. Since I'll have the power for it right there anyway, I figure might as well. It's actually for my son's bathroom. He lives upstairs and has put up with an out of date metal medicine cabinet + crappy light fixture for years. He comes down here to shave, dry hair, etc. because it's so dim and no outlet up there. So I just got the lumber for it a couple of days ago and plan to start on it tomorrow. I just might borrow your rounded corner idea depending on the radius of the corners of the mirror I get. In any event, I do get ideas from you videos all the time, & really appreciate your putting in the effort to record & upload your various projects. This one was definitely a winner!

      @@dale1956ties I'm no expert but it could be that all uk sockets are properly earthed and all mains circuits have breakers at the fuse box.
      Sockets are allowed in bathrooms but they must be at least 3m from a water supply which means that it would be impossible to have them in 90% plus of our bathrooms. Our bathroom is average size at about 2.5m x 2.5m and no wall surface is any further than about 1.5m from a water supply.
      Funnily, sockets are not supposed to be at least 30cm from water in the kitchen. I'm guessing that the idea is that you don't bathe in the kitchen sink and then plug in a hairdryer.
      If you have several hours to spare and can stay awake long enough, you could read the UK regulation but I just pay a qualified electrician to install stuff for me.

    Nice work. I would have thought a visit to your local glazier would have sourced a mirror of any size/shape you desired, (at a higher price), but with none of the extra labour involved?

    First watch on your channel and I really enjoyed it. Lovely quality to the video and obviously the projects, so much skill in the design, execution, jigs and tips. Also love that you left in the shelf error, would have been easy to omit, but it is so much part of project life and helps us newbies understand that we aren't failures. Now where's that back catalogue ☺️
