    in your opinion, is the cs3 really worth the extra money than the cs2? i been wondering,

    • @TargetForge
      @TargetForge  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been living with A CS3 for a while. I needed one to do some design work for a company. I gotta tell ya, the damn thing is growing on me. That adjustable shut off is pretty nice. The CS2 is dead simple though, highly portable, easy to fix. My tool battery hack works on the CS2. Worth the money? That really depends on you, and what you want out of it.

    Hi Bill, warranty question - need some advice. I purchased my GX CS2 from an Amazon seller. My CS2 stopped working at 120 days old. It just makes a whirring noise - no longer chug chugs - so piston is obviously no longer moving. I requested a replacement unit from the seller. The seller has requested me to disassemble the unit. He sent me a video showing (somewhat showing, lol) how to remove the piston assembly. This does not seem like something a manufacturer warranty would require a customer to do. Is the Amazon seller not following the proper manufacturers warranty process?

      @wruehl 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Ed, as far as I know, the only seller of GX branded pumps on Amazon is GX themselves. The fact that you only get a whirring sound tells me it is more likely the pinion gear on the motor output shaft that failed. Do you have an idea how many operating hours are on that unit? I'm assuming you bought it new? Sometimes our words do not translate well. Most of their support staff are not native english speakers and use Google Translate, A LOT. No telling what comes out of there sometimes. The further two languages are from each other, the more challenging the translation. You can use my lube video and once you get the low pressure head off use a 5mm screw and see if that piston moves, if it feels like its still connected to the con rod, which I suspect it is, its the motor pinion gear. I wonder if there was a 3mm feature on the back of your motor, but it spun so freely you concluded there was nothing there? If that's true, it is further evidence that the pinion failed. If you get a new one, put an hour meter on it so you can track usage easily.

    • @edgillis4686
      @edgillis4686 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Bill, yes I used a 5mm screw and can confirm that the piston moves and is still connected to the connecting rod. I sent you pictures, definitely no 3mm feature on the back of mine.

    Thanks Bill! How many hours do you think before this needs to be done?

    • @TargetForge
      @TargetForge  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Al, as usual, GREAT question. I really wish I had an answer for you... Data from the brand "GX" and the manufacturer varies from sparse to non existent. The obvious answer is "IF your unit is failing the "Dead Head" test, AND you are really sure you have NO external leaks (number one reason for failed Dead Head tests) then this would be the path I would advocate for. Hopefully MANY users add an hour meter, as you have done, and can start feeding some solid data my way. I sense a video topic in all this....

    Why are you the Yong Heng Hot Rod Shop when you are pushing GX compressors?

    • @TargetForge
      @TargetForge  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because I started hot rodding Yong Hengs, and I still do. Whole series coming up that takes my Hot Rod YH to new levels. Bottom line, I look at ways to improve getting HP air into PCP guns. Yong Heng Hotrod Shop grabs the attention of Airgunners and helps me spread the word.
