That was the day after I watched the Bulls defeated the Jazz in Game 6 seeing them win their championship for the 2nd straight year before liking the NBA the next morning. I remember watching Space Jam on VHS for the first time that day a couple hours before watching Aladdin on VHS.
My mom also picked up the Space Jam vhs not too long before this, and I watched it a lot. I wore that tape out. Speaking of the 1997 NBA Finals, which game was "The Flu Game"
