Today we take a look at one of the most underrated starship manufacturers in the galaxy Mandal Motors. They might not be the largest or best known shipyard, but the craft they build are all top notch.

About how much does the blade for these lightsabers weigh? I’m thinking about how to build a lightsaber so it feels like it should.
Did you ever win the war against the dolphins?
Love this guy easily one of the best Star Wars TH-camrs
I think Star Wars Theory channel is jealous
For good reason!
@SpaceCaseZ06 Have they mentioned him in their videos? Or trying to emulate them?
@@mr.boomguy
Generation Tech was brought up in a live watch party. Star Wars Theory appeared (to me) to act/feign ignorance/obliviousness and proceeded to disregard any subsequent mention.
Alan's analysis is better. Deeper, more technical. More grounded. (To me)
The only one where I actually watch every single daily video other than maybe Eck
Top 3
Well, MandalMotors also had a sister (or at least extremely close) company : Mandal hypernautics.
If we stick to canon only, Mandal hypernautics produced the overly expensive (and similarly overly armed) StarViper attack platform, which wasn't a succesful design to sold due to price tag on them
In legends however, it was probably one of those small company that built excellent ships and dangerous one, like the Crusader-class corvette, the result of what happens when Mandalorian doctrine of slapping more guns on something encountered a CR-90 corvette, they even managed to produce capital ships in the form of the Keldabe-class battleship but Mandalmotors participated heavily into its design that could go tow to tow with the ISD.
Yes they are the best, I am a Mandle motors Fan boy, some people love kuat or mon Kala, I all about them Mandel motors and hypernotics.
Also I think it is important to note that some ships from madalorian society are form the old republic Era and still very effective
At least in legends
Oh yeah! A modernized fleet with a Keldabe loaded with 30-40 fang fighters, a few Crusaders supported by some Kom'rks would be an insane little fleet to beat.
It is so wierd for me to see the name MandalMotors and Mandal hypernautics. Mandal is the name the small and most southern city of Norway where I grew up.
For a second I was scratching my head with the thumbnail, I was like "wait a minute is that a cool looking SW version of the Star Trek Defiant?" Anyway, Mandalorian ships are super cool, even the brick lookin ones.
ARE WE DOING MANDALORIAN SHIPS?!?! YES!!!! THE FANG FIGHTER IS MY FAVORITE SHIP IN ALL OF STAR WARS
MandalMotors is definitely one of, if not the, premier designers of gunships and transport gunships in Star Wars. The Fang fighter is also formidable.
Yeah they are great
When i think of underrated sharship builders in Star Wars, I always go back to Bakuran Shipyards. Very cool ships
"And a ventral tractor beam projector for stopping criminal ships" - As if you could ever truly stop Chopper.
Oh shit, I didn't know they somehow worked that "wing blast rocket pack" into a comic to justify that weird ass sub line of toys. I totally have that Boba Fett that was shown there at 1:17 somewhere.
It's a shame we were robbed of having some live action Fangs doing stuff in Mando s3's finale. We got to see a glimpse of them in the "fleet" shot but that's about it. I'm still salty that they teased a sick Mando space battle and all we got was the cruiser being scuttled for reasons.
You forget about the halfway ship in between the fang and the cormorant that only appeared one time, because the cormorant wouldn’t fit on a Jedi cruisers flight deck and they needed Bo Catan to land there with Ahsoka. It was kind of a midget cormorant.
MandalMotors is very underrated, I believe it is a small company and that is why we don't see much of it elsewhere in the galaxy.
Would love to see Mando using a modified Lancer whenever we get a Season 3
Love that Lancer Pursuit the most out of this line up.
Same it's perfect for bounty hunting, has a lot of firepower, probably a good amount of storage area or plenty of room for cells/living quarters, tough, decently fast and maneuverable, low maintenance, and probably fairly customizable. The ship definitely has main character energy I'd love to see it as a main character's ship in a series or better yet a game. If I had one I'd probably name it, "The Vindicator".
I would call the Cormorant an assault shuttle or attack transport, also along with the Fang are an unbeatable pair, both among my favorite ships!
How awesome would it be if a ship similar to Ketsu Onyo’s gunship Shadow Caster was a part of that makeshift Mandalorian fleet?
I have always loved mandelmotors, bring back the Kadalbe Dave PLEASE I need it
Mando season 4, Kadalbe vs. Star destroyer plz
I had a toy of that wing-mech suit and NEVER knew what it was or where it came from. thank you so much for the knowledge you bring Alan
8:41 there are probably three (but at least two) distinct Kom'rk-class fighter/transport starships. This could be a continuity error but in various Star Wars canon the Kom'rk ship is depicted as larger and smaller, the smallest has the ability to rotate the s-foils like the Fang while the one or two larger ships do not. They also different capabilities for transporting troops.
Starships are a very great & fun thing that I'll always love about star wars. But, as always, I'd want to travel on the Chimaera become my Grand Admiral Thrawn is the captain of the ship. 😎
Love the Lancer. Also, there are three classes of the Komrk-the large version like Pre Vizsla or Maul’s, the slightly smaller version used by Bo Katan’s Nite Owls in CW 7, and Bo’s smaller, sleeker one in Mando 3
Mantra of the Mandalorian People, "Peace... Through Superior Firepower."
The only ship that is close to the Kom'rk, is The Ghost. Both are beasts.
I appreciate you making it easy on me Allen. I 'like' your videos before I even watch them so I don't forget at the end. I have never had to go back and unlike a video. Thanks for the quality content Allen!
That makes me wonder if Mandal Motors ever built a freighter. I wonder how close a "stock" Mandalorian freighter could get to the Millennium Falcon or the Outrider.
If Destro were in the Star Wars Universe, he'd be a Mandalorian.
Maybe...
But Stormshadow and Snake Eyes would definitely be Force users, of course. They're basically relatively weak "Force" users already in their various G.I. Joe incarnations, what with their (totally authentic and realistic) slightly magical ninja powers, haha.
Hey Allan, silly question. You got a vid on other neutral systems during the clone wars? And what happened to them during the galactic civil war?
Wish y'all would of covered the Star Viper in this I think that was Mandal Motors also.
The Lancer Class is pretty awesome!
Good to see that Mando Motors is now sponsoring your channel.
The cover art looks like Star Trek and Star Wars had a baby.
5:00
Um, actually...2 A-wings, one piloted by Sabine and another piloted by a generic rebel pilot managed to escape unharmed. Hera also managed to escaped but her a-wing was damaged and she suffered injuries.
It's also worth remembering that the rebel fighters in that engagement were just trying to make contact with the Mandalorians, not fight them. Hera and Sabine were trying to set up a meeting and eventually bring some Mandos into the war on the Alliance side, so their formation of A-Wings was trying to be as open and non-threatening as possible to avoid the sort of bad first impression they might otherwise make by sneaking or punching their way through.
As always, great post! Love your work, keep it up!
The Fang actually looks like a M as in Mandalorian
Great vid GenTech, I like the lancer, the engine nacelles remind me of the y-wing.
Absolutely love the Mandalorian fighters!
im digging the lancer
Great Video!
I've really enjoyed the last series of videos focusing on the starships. Very enjoyable content.
I think the Mandalorian ships are absolutely the coolest ships.
I’d love to see a Mandalorian designed star destroyer!!!
That Lancer class sure looks like the Defiant
I'm surprised Mando Motors haven't designed a legitimate mech.
The Flying Toaster!
Still love the fact at the 0:13 second mark we see a Bergman Automatic next the diminutive but stout .45 Liberty pistol (the noisy cricket of Star Wars).
Did I cause a domino effect I just mentioned this yesterday and now he talking about it today, this is awesome.
I used to hate starships with asymmetrical motors, but then I tried designing some ships myself and figured out why they are that way.
The ships are dynamically unstable for better maneuverability. We do the same thing when we design fighter jets on Earth.
You need a computer to keep an asymmetrical thrust starship flying in a straight line, but when you want to turn, you have a lot of power to do it.
Any kind of ship that will be in combat needs asymetrical motors. If you are flying a freighter or a transport, you can have symmetry and small thrusters.
The Kanan saber is cool as hell.
The designer Mando.. apparently was the SW intergalactic Iron Man trying to channel his inner Tony Stark
I wonder when they design the Lancer class Pursuit craft if they took inspiration from the Defiant from Star Trek
I think the HH-87 StarHopper has become my favorite ship in Star Wars.
Idk how to explain this but the ship in the thumbnail is the Defiant from Star Trek DS9
Makes perfect sense from a mandalorian perspective to produce and sell military equipment. It increases the amount of armed forces that can wage war which in itself is a positive thing. Additionally, they can use their income to fund their own war efforts.
Mandalmotors may had a liaison office on Sullust for their joint ventures so it's fair to believe that SoroSuub would carry on with supply parts or designs during the Galactic Civil War and just sold it as their own products or incorporate any technology for their own products. They probably continued to produce parts and some vessels (the ones used by the Hutts may had been the type of product with continuous production) after the purge. Since they're cheap and low quality I can easily see mandalorians subcontracting SoroSuub factories to build it and sell it because it was beneath them to produce it. Any Mandalmotors employee or designer that survived would be working on Sullust. They could keep the company or more probably, the Galactic Bank has the ownership and let SoroSuub administrated it
This is the way
Can you do a tech video on all the different hyperdrives engines and the pros and cons
Allen you should do a video on the Crusader Corvette and the Keldabe Battleship! Not enough love for the Mandalorians' bigger capital ships!
Could you do a vid on the KST-100 kestral light executive transport? Most notably the Kasmiri from the Kanan comic series.
I'm just always amused by that elongated Bergman posing as a blaster. :D
Can we have a video about Horsch-Kessel drive? We know them primarily as the makers of the Lucrehulk-class Battleship, but they have also twice tried and failed to get into the starfighter market with both the R41 Starchaser and the T-Wing Interceptor.
We saw a Lancer in the used shipyard in Andor
Im surprised alan didnt mention the lancers secret weapon: twin mounted-hypersized sonic screwdrivers on the wing tips.
🤔 . . . Is it possible that there is a sort of hierarchy of manufacturing? For example, you’d have those who ‘manufactures’ different metals of different grades, likely shaping them into into different parts & pre-assembled components. Then you’d have the component assembly team, where the manufactured parts are assembled into individual components, & then finally you’d have the frame & component assembly group. Thus, I wouldn’t be surprised that the Nubians technically ‘owned’ the Naboo in manufacturing, but the Naboo is privately managed by the Naboo themselves; swapping a huge amount of stuff, there might be a Nubian version of the N-1 starfighter, but not as elaborate nor elegant as the Naboo’s N-1…
Damn shame we still haven't seen the fang fighter in live action
Wow
“ This is the way “🛸
First! Absolutely love these videos
Could a cormorant dock with a gozanti?
Interesting, I wonder how they would design a bit larger of a ship such as frigates or corvettes.
Is it just me or does the YT feed image look a bit like a muscle car version of the NX-74205 USS Defiant? WHAT?! BLASPHEMY!!
I was disappointed we didn't get to see a big space battle with these at the end of Mando s3.
that ship remind me to the defiant class from star trek.
What about the war machine basilisk?
Shin Hati please
Imagine if our government really tried to have a branch of physics as agents. Would if that some of basis for the Jedi
I really hope we see a continuation of the Mandalorians' return to sovereignty.
Especially with their allies in Boba Fett's cartel and the droid economy utopia planet, I could see the Mandalorians developing their own economy, probably serving a *security* role for other planets and basically forming their own NATO-like alliance with planets that are tired of the New Republic's neglect.
And their economy, they could adapt what the droid utopia world is doing and develop their own droid-based economy with the Mandalorians acting in both supervisory and technical roles, allowing them to hyper specialize, likely also serving in some capacity in a military reserves security force.
Allen really is trying to get sponsorships from spaceship builders in a fictional universe
The shape of the Mando fighters are the most realistic for space fighters and they really compete with the A-wing for me
What you might call "overkill" others would label as "standard features"
ezra ship the nightbrother is the coolest ship in the universeand my number 1 favorite
No mention of the Firespray or Razorcrest?
Those are made by different companies
a fang fighter would be my fighter of choice
For Mandalore!!!!
Mandocakes? Someone call Little Debbie. 😂
Lore daddy good morning
Lore daddy is crazy
But true
👍
Day 257 (i think i lost count but its around this number will fix soon) PLEASE DO MORE TACTICS VIDEOS AND STRUCTURES LIKE THE CIS NAVY STRUCTURE AND RANKS
Mandalorians are the best when it comes to technology
Mandalmotors?
Ah yes, the M3-A... the tutorial ship from Galaxies.
maybe they can fly from one planet to another in the same solar system
✌
Mandalorian cake shop....lol
Lets hope that mando motors survived purge.
why no basilik?
if they bring some of these mando ships into canon, I honestly hope they make them not toaster shaped.
I'ma pretend they're called MandoMotors. That's just more fun.
Cormikk and lancer both would be fun
Cormikk better shields and HD ( better HD bcz it looks BA to not be super fast)
Lancer better weapons and shields ( both would be a good asset to imorove considering its well rounded as is )
Jmo
This is the way. I have spoken.
That ship looks straight from spore.
The ship in the thumbnail sure looks like a kit bashed Star Trek ship
Looking at the real Fang fighter makes me feel disappointed in the Lego set that came with the TIE Interceptor
