The was a live action TV show called Superboy. It also had a short comic book series based off of it. I can't remember if it happened in the TV series or the comic book series, but at one point Superboy's powers were amplified so much that he couldn't control them. In this story he revealed to Professor Peterson that he can actually see when he uses his heat vision. it's just that what he sees is red and hazy. So, I believe that he can actually see while using the heat vision to a degree.
In answer to the Superman heat vision tracking question, it’s an interesting concept. It’d make sense if he couldn’t. But if he could, it’s one thing to see where the target is moving. But it’s another thing to actively move a laser (two lasers) along its path. Ignoring the utter carnage that you’d leave in their wake, I can’t imagine it being easy to control the movement of his heat vision whilst its active to stay accurate.
I mean I wanted to read the comic first. But I do need some info about this dark timeline so I don’t get confused. I spoiled myself so I’m okay with it.
Rob you forgot to show what Eobard finally created in the end. A Justice League where his logo was on several heroes meaning that he was the leader and founder of his own Justice League which had no Batman. It's a very cool concept Eobard free from his obsession with Barry Allen and ending up the one who controlled the Universe behind the scenes. I can see him becoming a "Hero" better than Barry Allen was just to prove he was better.
In terms of Sup's heat vision, if he can't see he still has super hearing, that as far as I've seen is able to pick out individuals, so he could still track the individual.
Superman can absolutely track people with his heat vision whether he can see through it or not. Even just his hearing is so good it defies logic and the laws of physics.
Literally. But then the question is, does he get bored with it all? I mean, there's not challenge to anything anymore since he can change things literally at will. Is he satisfied basically being god or not?
@@andrewowens4421 The guy jetted before a whole army of new gods would have probably wiped him clean so their might be forces out there that could definitely challenge him.
Rob, Thawne is wrong. Barry's mother was never supposed to die, and Thawne killed her changing the timeline. So even if Barry messed up, it's still Thawnes fault.
On Superman seeing through his Heat Vision: I would say "Yes", that's the way its always seemed to work before. I"m certain there are moments in comics and animation where he has tracked a moving object while firing his Heat Vision. Strangely enough, Marvel's Captain Ersatz version of Superman, Hyperion, actually does operate in the 'can't see when he shoots' mode, at least going back to the 'Squadron Supreme' limited series. He would line up the target in his vision, roll his eyes WAY back to expose the energy emitting portion of his eyeballs, then fire. Of course, he could do this so quickly it would look like he could see what he was firing at.
Tracking them using his super intelligence makes him seem far better, than just seeing through it, it shows that super intelligence they normally show with inventions, making him predict the foes, during battle, and showing how fast his brain can work, but it’s still strange he does not think too fly the foe into a clear area like in dbz. It’s strange because as much as I love db, pride is the flaw of everyone in it, making them hardly ever overcome their flaws, and even if they did, super made them forget.

You missed the most important part, Rob. When they trapped Thawne in the sonics Batman shot a bullet at him that would have killed him because he "missed it" but instead Superman caught it. In the moments after that Thawne was viewing all the hope that was going to spawn in the world, in the future(p. 39). Then Batman shot Superman and all that hope died with him. It was these visions of a hopeful future that made Thawne change. It brought him hope, and as he said to Batman way earlier in the comic (p. 22), hope is selfish. Thawne was fill with hope, with selfishness, to make his perfect world. The last page of the comic shows this with all the supers, almost each bearing his lightning bolt mark. If anything, this is a more lighthearted Dark Multiverse story, at least if read as a whole. If you focus on just Thawne then that's the kind of dark part to it. He's just Superboy Prime in his crisis world but with a lot more extra steps. Also, slight correction. Thawne didn't kill Barry when he was pulled out of the speedforce. Barry just got electri-fried. Thawne was all, "So this just happened. Oh hey Barry, never expected to see you cooked well-done."
Love the thoughts on superman's eye lasers making him not able to see. I think he uses his other enhanced senses to keep track of a moving target. Plus his combat knowledge to aim in the most likely path the object/person would go to.

Yeah I did not know Scott could different things until the xmen legends games
@@johnlawful2272 What do you mean by different things?
Of course he can see through his heat vision. It's shown it in comics before. I mean he just stands around angry sometimes with his eyes glowing red from it and not actually shooting at people. He's just standing around blind cuz he's angry? But it's also shown panels of like red tinted Vision that he's seeing through
I think aiming his beams was learned by Superman later on.
Eobard Thawne - "Ah time travel! The cause & solution to... all of my problems."
This is one of the best dark multiverse stories yet in my opinion.
Not what I expected. I kinda like this story ending better than the other dark multiverse endings.
Dude, your work reviewing the Dark Multiverse issues is top-notch. Thank you for stepping up and bringing it to us.
I think Superman, shouldn't be able to see with his heat vision.
You could argue he can use his super hearing, but I like the limitations.
He shouldn't be able to see because?
@@eghoseisiramen1892 i mean even if he can see its gonna be all red. It's like covering your eyes with blood. Csn you see?
@@Zaacdrums that's not how it works for superman thoz they've shown him seeing through his heat vision, he just sees everything in red
@@eghoseisiramen1892 exactly. So he can barely see through it. He should use his 50+ senses to help him. Like his x-ray plus his super hearing. Or his infrared plus super hearing.
@@Zaacdrums in the comics and animated films he seems to be able to see just fine so agree to disagree?
Rob, please cover "The Last Stories of the DC Universe"
For many years, Thawn has been my favorite villain. This is just another reason why.
so threw his actions with the dark speed force he turned this dark universe into his one isolated time paradox that he can change as he wills
The reverse flash design in this book the best best design for any flash character ever
@17:54 Huh, looks like Barda is Darkseid in this universe now. Wonder how that took place.
My take is that there was some big war between Apocolips and New Genesis. New Genesis lost, but Darkseid died.
Undead Lightray and Orion in Apocolips army are indicating on it.
About the heat vision: I believe Superman can still track you when using heat vision. Even if we suppose he may not be able to see through the beams, his other senses are on super human levels as well and his reaction time is almost as fast as the Flash. He would be able to use his other senses to discern the direction your dodge and adjust accordingly.
Now I want to watch Thawn's perfect multiverse.
Specially the final page.
Reverse Flash reshaping the entire Dark Multiverse and making it stable is something to think about lmao
This was not the way I expected this story to go. Wow this is probably my new favorite coming out of Tales of the Dark Multiverse.
Im gonna say superman can see through his heat vision. Hes broken in every other way why wouldnt they let him see through heat vision.
He can and do different things like xmen cyclops
@@100percentNotaBot so youre implying the other superman LEARNED to see through his heat vision? Its either you can see or you cant, you cant learn to see through a wall.
@Vagabond i simply disagree
@@100percentNotaBot which ones?
This is the best story I've read in a loooong time. Kudos!
Anyone else notice how eobards suit looks a little too much like kid flash in this story
I think he can’t see when he uses it but the fact that he’s been using it for that long gave him enough experience with it to know where you might go if you do move so he predicts your exact location before he fires
so this version of thawn just lost his morals around timetravel and became someone without an equal force to hinder him
So essentially like the Red Death? :o
no, this version is the best and he is doing what any human would do with infinite power
Oh, but youtuber described what happened to you in a wrong way. He did not lost morals around timetravel this time, because he did not have it for aeons. No, now, when Barry was dead and humliated, Thawne found semblance of morals. It became his world. His own. And now free of his vendetta against Barry, he became free to pursue his initial dream of becoming Flash. Since it is his world, Thawne argued, he'll not let anybody take it from him or destroy it. And so he amassed his own League... or perhaps even Legion.

Eobard Thawn running the show and fighting Superman is dope
What if mongul ruled sakaar instead of red king when hulk landed
“Mongul The Elder”
Hi Rob, I think it was covered in superman vs flash, when the flash moves fast, the world slows down but when superman moves fast the world blurs.
The problem with that is that it implies superman moves faster than his brain can process his movements.
I was expecting thawne to just murder the whole Wayne family when he went back in time.
same
I thought that was a second until i realized that he wouldn't do that.
Take solice in knowing that Thawne probably did it it anyway just for a laugh
there could be a timeline where he did that
I will be honest your consistency is top notch you put out the just the right story’s 💯👌🏽
He can use his super hearing to track targets even if he can't see when using his heat vision.
was checking to see if anyone else posted this before i do lol
That's why every marco polo game ends immediately irl. Cause hearing is the same as vision.
No that's Batman who has echolocation
Is hearing interpreted by the brain at the same rate at vision?
@@jesserothhammer7378 its been shown plenty of times that supermans hearing is quite acute so being able to pick up on a shift in weight through someones costume or footsteps is completely in the realm of his powerset
The Final Knight must be watching Eobard Thawn as that universe fades in and out of obscurity.
Man why am i so proud of my boy Eobard Thawne!

I think Superman can hear or smell if his target moves, maybe even feel the air
X-ray and infrared vision

Wait Till There Is A Dark Crisis On Infinite Earths
In answer to the Superman heat vision tracking question, it’s an interesting concept. It’d make sense if he couldn’t. But if he could, it’s one thing to see where the target is moving. But it’s another thing to actively move a laser (two lasers) along its path. Ignoring the utter carnage that you’d leave in their wake, I can’t imagine it being easy to control the movement of his heat vision whilst its active to stay accurate.
This became my favorite story after wonder woman called on darkseid
YES SUPERMAN CAN SEE THRU HIS HEAT VISION HE EVEN SHAVES USING HEAT VISION
I mean I wanted to read the comic first. But I do need some info about this dark timeline so I don’t get confused. I spoiled myself so I’m okay with it.
Rob you forgot to show what Eobard finally created in the end. A Justice League where his logo was on several heroes meaning that he was the leader and founder of his own Justice League which had no Batman.
It's a very cool concept Eobard free from his obsession with Barry Allen and ending up the one who controlled the Universe behind the scenes. I can see him becoming a "Hero" better than Barry Allen was just to prove he was better.
His name is “super man”. His eyesight is precise and quick, also mention X-ray vision. He could definitely aim his heat vision.
In terms of Sup's heat vision, if he can't see he still has super hearing, that as far as I've seen is able to pick out individuals, so he could still track the individual.
We would very much like a video on Ressurection Man
We do this for Aaron Wilder

Superman can absolutely track people with his heat vision whether he can see through it or not. Even just his hearing is so good it defies logic and the laws of physics.

Thawne is the greatest villain of all time
The title of the video should be called Reverseflashpoint.
This is simultaneously the best and worst Dark multiverse world to live in depending on how thawn is feeling that day
Literally. But then the question is, does he get bored with it all? I mean, there's not challenge to anything anymore since he can change things literally at will. Is he satisfied basically being god or not?
@@andrewowens4421 If he gets bored he leaves
@@andrewowens4421 The guy jetted before a whole army of new gods would have probably wiped him clean so their might be forces out there that could definitely challenge him.
It’s called heat vision. Vision is. Core component. Not heat beams or anything like that. I think he can still see.
Beyond Omega Level: Empty Hand (DC)
Damn I was hoping flashpoint was already a dark multiverse and Barry was just dipping into it
Rob, Thawne is wrong.

And you wonder why Politics in Comics always fails. Trump 2020.
