    Thanks for the video Michael, As a sculptor who recently bought a Ferret scanner myself, I found your review really interesting. Like yourself I’m finding it to be a very useful and convenient tool for obtaining quick referencing information for my work, and can’t quite believe just how good some of the resulting scans have come out considering how inexpensive it is! As you rightly say, slow and steady scanning is the secret formula that’s needed in order to obtain accurate and useful results !

    I think this is a cool opportunity to start changing life around you with 3D. I were dream about this in 2017. 🤩

    This will be great for hand study. I suck at sculpting hands and this will help to get my hand flexing right. I wonder does it pick up wrinkles and pores?

    Awesome video Mike! The Dog came out really good. I wonder if for vehicles a combination of painters tape and that brown paper they roll out on floors would be a good option. If placed with care it would still be form fitting and that brown cheap painters paper is very diffused, at least the stuff I got at Lowe's is. I'm on the fence with this scanner, it might land me on the news "local man mauled by wild rabbits and deer while trying to scan them". haha

      ooo painters tape might work! i know they make spreadable powder stuff for scanning but it's a bit pricey. and honestly that morning it was working pretty well, a few markers to "latch onto" might have worked, but once it got sunny and more reflective later in the day, kinda fell apart :(

    Your opinion compared to the Lizard model or the Revopoint Pop 2 ? Thanks

    Did you 3D print your dog? I would like to see that, because I am finally going to buy a 3D printer (X1C), & CR-Scan Ferret is probably going to be my first scanner, because the Einstar's spercs are high for my super old outdated PC. I would love to have scans of all my pets before they go to heaven.

    The ferret works really well - also for humans it works well but with hair ? It seems to really fail which makes scanning humans kinda pointless.

    But how do you fill the holes and the empty parts of the scan?

    Am I correct there is NO iPhone app? Seems like an odd decision.

    Really glad that you are starting to implement some scanning, mixing this with mid-journey is going to be a vibe

    i still don't understand why you don't just take photos and paint them onto your own cleaner mesh. Not to mention back in the day we would want flat photos for photogrammetry to avoid shading/lighting issues.

    Will an Iphone work with this scanner?

      This and might it work with a lightning to USB C adapter? Creality’s listing for this product says that Mac OS will be supported in June ‘23 but I don’t know if that includes iOS or not.

    • @pclarkson85
      @pclarkson85 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      After looking in the app store I am not seeing an app for it which I assume it needs to interface with the phone so I am guessing no go for iOS

      @@pclarkson85 That's a bummer. I am seriously considering getting this scanner, but if I can't use it with my phone, I might not.
