I lost my wife on December 16th of last year after a long battle with cancer. I used to sing this song to her a lot in the past 6 years. It still makes me cry when I hear it and yes I do still sing it to her even though she is not here with me.
Today when I was checking my Facebook posts from 10 years ago, i found my post about this song. I almost forgot this song until now...brings back so many memories
I can't stop replaying this song. OMG it soooo much expresses how I feel about my wife. I cried at our wedding being overwhelmed with the realization that this woman was actually becoming mine, to have and hold forever. How is such a gift possible to receive. 39 glorious years later I'm still overwhelmed with the gift in my life that is her.
I really want to show this masterpiece to my partner, but since I've already had this song as "our song" with my ex, I won't. Especially since we had a piece of the lyrics engraved in our rings. I'm still in love with this song 8 years later. Wonderful piece of art.
