It's kind of funny that the game algorithm paired you with Maze's End because your deck had two ways to just stop it between destroying all his lands and putting out Platinum Angel.
Does PA specify "your opponent cannot win the game"? Bc in Magic your opponent winning amd you losing aren't *technically* the same. Edit: o dang it does say that. Carry on then.
Just wanted to point out that even without the board wipe you were safe from that maelstrom Angel's combat damage trigger since 9 lives prevents damage

I actually tried building it using the Leonin that made all artifacts indestructible and equipping boots on him that made him hexproof. The deck was too slow though, never managed to keep up with mono-red and the freaking Ravager artifacts. Don't remember all the cards names now, though.

I did not have that many objections against Omnath. Sometimes it seemed annoying so many people playing it, ok. But I think the clover ban was more important. I also hoped they would ban some red cards. I am getting so much more annoyed of cards like the robber, Embercleave, Anax or torbran.
Robber is hardly busted??!! You have to have it on the play on turn 2 or it isn't great. 2/2 with haste. I guess people just don't like other people touching their stuff.
Im creating a similar deck but adding opportunity for the glory that combs with the angel giving it indestructible and you play 2 turns. I also added angels of grace and few more cards. I hope it will be the immortal deck 👍🏻
I've gone up against this combo before, he got the no counters enchant when his nine lives had like 5 counters on it, then he passed to my turn. I used stern dismissal to bounce the no counters enchant back to his hand, attacked with the 3 creatures I had on the field, and shocked him to win.
Yeah... saw a deck like that once... hated it so much I built a full deck against it. The resulting game was so long but my tenacity won me the game after more than 1 hour of just sitting there without anything happening
Still loses to loss of life effects if you can take care of the plat angel. I have fought allot of solmitny decks and won with preist of forgotten gods.
@Odis Driftwood yes i did have my personal Omnath deck but this is not the point bro.. i bet moneys you are the Mill/rogues deck guru here and it's almost 30% of the entire decks in standard.. man seriously? winning a game with mill still exist? Maddening Cacophony and the freaking crab? C'mon wizard!!
i love how i see that many people using this deck, it basically ruins explorer.. pretty dumb combo that shouldnt exist imo, it straight up kills 2 formats

I have a commander deck built around Maze's End. Not the best deck, but it's fun :)
Well, I still play it in a Yorion Golos Deck as second Win Con. Works nice and saved my butt on several occasions.
I use it as a win on in my Slivers deck, they never see it coming.

You can't use Fall of the Thran with solemnity down, as it won't let it get counters. FYI
@Odis Driftwood you didn't get my point, the Thran's activation won't trigger with Solemnity on the board, so it won't destroy any lands

I add the angel for 7 that gives all flying creatures indestructible, then run a helm of host on it to get 2 then start pumping platinums

Embercleave probably should have also been banned. But Omnath absolutely needed to be banned.

Ugin doesnt remove colorless permanents like Platinum Angel and MonoB has counters for other removal spells.

Platinum Angel says your opponents can't win, it doesn't prevent the controller from winning.
I beat a guy running this by using like 4 alrund’s epiphanies each x2 therefore getting 7-8 turns.
