Great video, I had my first class today, stayed after to get some more reps in and have these 3 submissions all down. I’ve been watching BJJ for years but finally at 26 received my first stripe on my white belt tonight. I’m giving it all I got!
He’s maybe saying he started before and then carried on typing the message when he got his stripe lol cause there’s no way he got a stripe on his first lesson if so bad professor as I got mine after 4 months going 3 times a week maybe he is naturally good but it should take more than one class to decide
First off you shouldn’t even be learning submissions on your first class besides MAYBE a rear naked or guillotine Second there’s no way you should’ve gotten a stripe on your first class even if you’re really that guy
These are very important. I've used all of these before. Simple, easy to remember, and they work. Bravo to you for letting others know about it (especially beginners)
Oss, that detail of really bringing the knee to the ear and then even pushing the neck to the side a bit (breaking his posture) is demonstrated so well here. I didn't realize I wasn't focusing on this until i saw this video. Thanks!
I am white belt and I can tell you 99.9% of the times higher belt is not going to let me get those chokes. I have rolled with higher belts and they almost every time have a counter move.
Im starting bjj next month at the age of 20. After a year or so im gonna also start taking wrestling. I wanna specialize in No Gi then after purple belt I’m done going to a dojo and switching over to an mma gym so my base will be bjj/wrestling but I’ll able to strike and kick and learn different style of bjj since a lot of submissions u would never attempt in a cage fight. And once I’m good enough or confident in myself finna start my amateur career then return back to the dojo environment to continue my belt journey while training mma.
The video left out the setup details that the top person uses to maintain proper balance and center of gravity against a defending bottom person. All theee techniques left details out in the video, important ones.
Thats a terrible thing to learn. I agree you first need a solid base and understanding of not losing mount, but its a great offensive position to attack. Americana, armbars, arm triangles, Ezekiel, cross collar, etc
What causes him to tap on the first one cos it didn't look like anything. It looked like he laid on top of him and just had a nap with his shoulder covering the guys nose Lol
The are the same thing although their focus has diverged. Judo was originally called Kano Jujutsu. It was derived from various Japanese Jujutsu styles. BJJ comes from Judo, but it kept the Jujutsu name, but changed the spelling to Jiu-Jitsu.
Ughh the americana is nasty. Look up "Frank Mir kimura arm break". The kimura is a similar type of rotational arm submission. Be warned, you might find it graphic. Ever have someone get those holds in deep. Save yourself the long rehab and tap out. Live to fight another day. They can be career enders.
Some zip up large hoodies Suit tops or certain coats Button down collared shirts All examples of other worn clothes that the cross collar choke could work with Doesn’t mean it will…but it could!
I have just started jiu-jitsu, 4th class. Thanks 4 the video!
How’s it going man ? I started in November and recently got my first stripe
@Bjjnerd-qd5vs I'm too old and fat! Haha. No it's going well I just need more time to recover in between class.
Is your opponent gonna let you do what you want to do. The answer is absolutely not 😅

You gotta change gyms if you got 1st stripe in first night lol
@@VOlDTALES maybe hes just really good and already knows a lot from watching it? weird though
Maybe when they said “had my first class today”, they only meant their first class literally today, meaning that day they were typing that comment..?

What's really awesome is that I did just jitsu for a couple months and I learned all three of these so yes! These are in fact beginner moves!!!!
Thank you Teacher.Greetings from Spain.
thnak you so much, i’m decent at getting holds but couldn’t get submissions to stick in my mind.
Appreciate it. These submissions are exactly what I need to practice.
Still doing bjj ? If so any stripes ?
Love these short videos, maximum instruction.
That is the same way you have to do it when you grade for your yellow belt in Judo
The tap is soooo satisfying
My wife shall have fun *nervous chuckle*
I just had my first class today and im hooked like that arm bar!
I am white belt and I can tell you 99.9% of the times higher belt is not going to let me get those chokes. I have rolled with higher belts and they almost every time have a counter move.
Traingle is more important than cross collar choke because you can do in both gi and no gi and very basic easy submission from closed guard
I just need my attacker to always stay still like a doll.😂
As and good white belt I like to make up my own submissions and crank them until a tap comes 😁👍🏼
dangerous, if you don’t know what you’re doing the person could get out or you could seriously injure them/yourself by accident

Ty bro I finally learned how to do the americana

Thank you for this video I have BJJ really soon
I do armbar all the time
Thank you for showing me I Have Practice today 👍
Open mat tomorrow, I'm ready lol
My fav is arm bar it’s easy and I use it in competitions😊
Know em all except for that first one
Ty sir 🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I haven't started yet but I can do it!
Love how in the in video tittle in the middle of the screen it says from the mounth know it's mistake but you should keep it its funny
3rd one is called armor from esmount
“From the mounth”
I started watching this and gonna train with my cousin
used this on my neighbor. I dont think she'll bring her wheelchair over here again
The bent armbar is a classic move but they will just buck so I just go for armbar
Whats the difference betten geappling and jiu jitsu ?
Dang I didn’t think you could do an Americana from Mount like that, this is a solid video.
How to stop them from scooting while attempting s mount?
Thanks
Thank you
I do ju jitsu to, and i love to do the second one
So do you just press down on the neck on the first one?
Im a white belt and ive learned all of those but the americana.
How do i not get rolled when I go for a cross collar?
Keep your weight low and base wide and slightly shifted to one side.
The video left out the setup details that the top person uses to maintain proper balance and center of gravity against a defending bottom person.

What all do I need to knwo to get my blue belt ?
🤓: “um… does the first one work in no gi??”
no
Dude I’m so scared of overdoing it tho. I need to practice slow mo before taking it to sparring
Can you do cross collar choke in no-gi?
Damn, it's called "collar", what do you think?
@@e_gorrr Yea sorry I asked this on my first day of bjj
americana was my favorite
Was this a cross collar choke or a 10 finger choke im so confused
You assume I can get to mount 😅
1st one is very weak if your opponent isn't wearing a gui.
Nice. But i wouldnt want to be forced to use a Gi.
I do use this but im in a Brazilian Jiujitsu And im Brazilian so we call it Americano I use every think what you used
Lol..I learned these back in 1995
Nice !
Yea but the Americana they can still land side punches
im a grey belt and i know all of these
I thought you're not supposed to put both hands on the mat ?
And what if they bite you in a real fight
What if someone knows how to defend?
Jits is so cool
I’m a white belt and I know all of these
I was taught that a white belt has no business trying to learn and practice submissions from mount
Mount submissions are like the best ones I feel like white belts are taught too much full guard stuff when it has very little self defense application
Thats a terrible thing to learn. I agree you first need a solid base and understanding of not losing mount, but its a great offensive position to attack. Americana, armbars, arm triangles, Ezekiel, cross collar, etc
What else are you gonna do in full mount lol its such an advantageous position you need to try a submission
@@ImOothman you practice maintaining your position.
I tried to do cross color choke on my friend but he keeps getting tickled i tried 20 + times
I like your hair I want that haircut
I’m pretty sure that’s not how you do a cross collar choke
I just turned yellow and oh my God the rules have changed
Bro didn’t hook the opposite leg of the Americana, (it’s more powerful if you do a grapevine one the opposite leg)
I thought #2 Americana was the kamora lock 🤔
The Kimura down and Americana is up.
BJJ - three submissions whitebelts should know
I just started doing bjj don't know any submission but what I do know is the Americana hurts
Tap before it hurts bro. That means your about a half inch from a tear.
Haha first sub I learned from mount was Americana and it’s one of the easiest
Helio Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.
Gracie 101
top 10 cute cuddling positions
Me:"snaps neck" easy

FROM THE MOUNTH OF SCOTLAND
*Beginners* don’t learn cross collar choke for self defence. It only works with the Gi’s strong collar
Some zip up large hoodies
Suit tops or certain coats
Button down collared shirts
All examples of other worn clothes that the cross collar choke could work with
Doesn’t mean it will…but it could!
Absolutely textbook. The only problem is on the second one when you do an Americana that probably won’t work against everybody.
