Good video ! I have a 2003 MB s-600 (V12) some say go with Bosch Platinum sparkplugs and some say NGK Iridium . Is there a significant choice between these two ?

The torque for the plugs is 28nm per the WIS instructions people. Don't risk stripping your threads in your aluminium cylinder head using this method of tightening until it doesnt tighten anymore ;)

UPDATE. So I changed out the plugs today. Managed to get locked out of the car as the trunk closed (I disconnected the negative on the battery. and had to jump the car using the spot under the passenger side footwell. Overall job went smooth car is running nice, and the old plugs were worn, but normal. Thanks again for this video.

So that special wrench to pull out the wire are not necessary
What fell down into the engine compartment when you pulled off the first electrical connector at 1:30?

Thanks for the video. I used it to help me do this job and it made it very straightforward. I broke off a couple of the black plastic bits from the connectors but that didn't seem to be a problem. They don't seem to really have any function since the part that seals is very tight.

It should be the same, if it has a petrol engine then yes, 500 320 55 63 share the same module
could you post the bend angles in the spark plug wire wrench? Id like to try to make one from an old 17mm wrench before spending my hard earned 25 bucks. I got a benz for a couple of hundred of craigslist and its in rough shape, dont wanna buy a tool ill potentially use once since I have a bunch of old wrenchs sitting around.

I would not use oil on the plugs...it could cause it to misfire do to improper grounding of the plug

I have been putting a little grease on my plug threads and lug nuts for 50 years, never a problem.

It can cause problems in modern engines. Spark plugs are not meant to be greased. They come off easily without it. It's just a matter of torque.
Amateurs... Didnt check or state spark plug gaps. Did not torque down correctly.

did you put oil on the spark plug threads???

MB does not recommend putting anything on the threads of your car's spark plugs
