Vor dem trimmen baden? Unsere Friseurin mag ihn nur schmutzig zum trimmen. Geht es besser wenn ich ihn vorher bade?

Hallo welche Sorte trimmmesser benutzen Sie? Welche seite vom Messer ist die richtige ? Die kurzen Zähne oder die gezackte scharfe seite. Nirgendwo findet man darüber etwas. Nur das es messer für links oder Rechtshänder gibt.

Thank you for a great video on hand stripping. You covered many important points. My male is now 10 years old and was neutered when he was 21/2 yr' old. He has a black saddle like the dog you worked on. The black is not as wire as the white part of his coat. Is that because he was neutered?

Hello Dorothea, Thank you for your comment. yes, this is probably because he's neutered . This also can be genetic , or the combination of both . it's not always the easiest thing to keep his coat wire . but keep on handstripping the coat . If we can help you further, don't hesitate to contact us on our website:

My wires black spot is fading since I changed to a new groomer. What should I do?

Does he get shaved instead of stripped? Is it getting shaved in a shorter blade? They're meant to be handstriped in order to maintain coat texture and color. When they get shaved their color fades and the coat becomes dull and the texture turns soft. When they get shaved shorter, it happens faster. If he/she was spayed or neutered it can change the coat too. I wouldn't blame your groomer because we just give haircuts and we basically all do almost the same thing, a lot of factors come to play and we are just one small part of it. If you want to make sure the texture and color are maintained but you get your dog shaved instead of stripped, you can try what's called "carding". The color and texture will still probably change a little, but it might help to slow it down or make it less noticeable.
Carding can be done with a stripping knife, a Furminator, the equi-groomer, or even a clipper blade (#10, #15 or #30) used as a brush. You just have to gently brush it through and be careful not to cut the hair. Don't go over the same spot over and over again or you can hurt their skin, take breaks before going back to the same place. Do it over several days and don't go too long without doing it or the fuzziness will come back and the texture will keep getting soft. If your dog is longer-haired/grown out, you can use an undercoat rake, but be careful of skin folds or you could cut your dog. Be especially careful around the anus, private parts, armpits, tuck-up, and where the tail meets the body. Don't use an Undercoat rake around the face, privates, armpits, or belly.
I hope this thoroughly answers your question, lol. Sorry for being long-winded

@@MrsFitzus GREAT info!!! Thank you so so much! Yep, his back where he used to have wire hair is now softer and grayish. It feels a little thicker now than he was freshly groomed like a month ago. Still contemplating to take him back in 2 weeks as I feel that his color is going to fade even more… I have stripping knives, deshedding undercoat rake etc so wish me good luck ;) 🍀** Yes he was hand stripped…
