- This is a collection of songs played live that The Cure used to open their live concerts from 1979 - 2008. This isn't a complete list of every song they've ever opened with, but rather their most popular ones played chronologically through the Years. This set contains rare live videos performed around the time of their debut, unless no other video existed. I used the best quality videos that were available at the time, hence the reason for the different formats throughout the tracks.
Which one of these tracks is your favorite opening song for a Cure show?
The setlist is as follows:
10:I5 Saturday Night - Rotterdam, New Pop Fest, September 1979
4:08 Seventeen Seconds - Boston, April 20, 1980
8:35 The Holy Hour - San Jose August 1997
13:29 The Figurehead - L'echo Des Bananes, April 11, 1982
19:43 Shake Dog Shake - Oxford Road Show, February 1984
23:51 The Baby Screams - Various 1985
27:30 The Kiss - Berlin, 2002
35:00 Plainsong - Rehearsals for The Prayer Tour, 1989
40:00 Tape/Open - Detroit, 1992
49:50 Want - Brussels, 2000
55:25 Out of This World - Brussels, 2000
1:02:26 Lost - USA, 2004
1:06:48 Underneath the Stars - Charlotte, June 2008

All 😎✌️
Plainsong
This is a great chronological documentary.
The Figurehead is such a beautiful song. Unreal. I have been listening to it for nearly 40 years and I don't get tired of it.
Soundtrack of my live, best Band in the World ❤❤❤
10.15, The Holy Hour, Shake Dog Shake and Tape/Open are badass
I have given this a thumbs up before listening. I first thought about what the 1979 song might be and decided "Drip Drip" would be a good beginning. 😊 The Cure is a big part of my life. Have you ever had a dripping faucet? So many of their songs have allowed me to think about my own experiences and understand who I am. Now I will listen.
Out of This World & Lost are both amazing songs, wish they would get played more these days, as well as some other songs from their Self Titled.
Tape/Open, by a long distance.
That is a really great way to start a Cure Show. In fact, my 30th anniversary of seeing The Cure live is coming up in a few days on May 17, 2022.
I saw them on The Wish tour in Philly on May 17, 1992 and they did the Tape/Open into, so when I see that, I remember that day.
@@thedefinitivecure9298 Cool.My 30th anniversary is on 3rd Dec this year. Dublin show. Porls last gig...
I'll be going to see them in Dublin again on the 1st, so very close to 30 years to the day!
37 years.... bari azzurro....1987 i remember
I was 4 y.o am didn't know what was headed for me...i started listening tobthem at 10 y.o..
I have all the albums, but never heard the first song done live. So buzzcocks, as Smith always said was his first incarnation!
All the albums??? Official album??
It's amazing to see that Woolworth Top20 guitar stripped down from the neck pickup...which was surely added to the Jazzmaster. Never thought it was used again after the first one or two years of the band
Love this song very much, also my good friend Stephane Galster from Switzerland
buenisimo °
❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Are any of the flames for Robert's breathy whispers and tongue sticking out at just the right moment? I can watch Cure videos without sound.
All! Cure so badass, def disintegration and early postpunk gothrock for sure
YAAAS 🐀🐀 the cure is 🔛🔝
Faith/Carnage Visors/ Sorry i Had few Bottles of Wine ❤ am eye light years away TAPE/OPEN
This version of 10:15 is as tight as a drum, but for my money (and i can't even afford Taco Bell right now! Now that is really saying something.. lol) is the atmospheric Plainsong.. Sometimes it is a better breakfast than real food...Delicious Vinyl, indeed! SFP ps desert = "Untitled" A side "I'm Cold" B side..❤
10:15
