Modern safety requirements prevent them from being marketable. In order for them to be up to par it'd basically add about 300lbs of weight to the vehicle. No one wants a bulky heavy sports car. Among other things they're very prone to leaks, they rattle at high speeds and it's inconvenient to remove a huge piece of glass all the time
