One thing I find so unique from this little girl is she has no fear, no stage fright of performing in front of a crowd, big or small. she seems to be an introvert, but in front of an audience, she becomes alive with her magnificent voice.
I don't buy that pseudo shrink's diagnosis. "Introverted". You no doubt read it. What is that dude's purpose? To encourage Angelina, or put evil doubts in her mind? Where I grew up 'introvert" had a slightly negative connotation. Yeah, I know, it's not "supposed" to have any connotation. In any case, here we have a very unique young child who found her life's love of "work" in singing. And she is very driven to be great at singing. That takes time, to hone your craft. She has school; homework, family time, meals and her singing and learning instruments, practice time. Doesn't leave much time for anything else. But we still see her with her friends sometimes too. I totally reject "introverted".
@@Truthseekersws you are quite perceptive. yes, I read that man's comment and I actually disagree with everything he said too. even the introverted part. he said "ultra introverted". what the hell does that even mean? but to me, nothing is wrong with being introverted. everything is relative. she seems to be not as talkative, as chatty, as abrasive like typical generation Z in various social media platforms. anything less than that can be regarded as introverted by the conventional social standard. but that's great. less talk, more introspection. maybe that's why she seems to be a better adjusted individual than her peers. she is and always be a good person. somebody we can all admire and support.
@@Truthseekersws : Sorry but I disagree: "Introvert" is an absolut normal adjectiv to describe a character without any valuation; the two opposite words "introvert" and "extrovert" have only describing and no judging meaning.

@@Truthseekersws Bit if a rant there, mate. I might have used the word "reserved" to describe Angelina, but Ken Vo didn't merit that sort of response. In any event, that has nothing to do with her confidence. And do you really think that Angelina has or will ever see any of these comments?
Val, Angelina is in her element behind microphone. It doesn’t matter if it’s a six piece band, an orchestra or a lone guitar, Angelina is going to deliver a stellar performance every time.
Angie's grandma Mery Zamani has done most of the impromptu video recording from day 1. She and Angie are inseparable to this day. We owe her a huge debt, as these are certain to become "historic" videos of Angelina's early career. Mery also runs the Angelina Jordan Fanclub Mosarz channel which hosts, as you know, numerous rehearsal and behind the scenes videos. A treasure trove IMO. Happy you reacted to a rehearsal video, and watching Angie's rehearsal videos are always a treat as you can see, as she often does, has a blast and lots of fun at rehearsal when the band is right. If they're not, they have to face the discipline of "the boss." :-)
This was uploaded in 2019 but i think it was recorded when she was around 10-ish yrs old. For me she always seems a little more shy/reserved in rehearsals like this, but then when she gets in front of an audience she just comes alive and thrives on it.
I guess that seeing artists like Angelina is really important for people hoping to work in the music industry. To see how well prepared Angelina is prepared for the rehearsal must be a wake up call to everyone that thinks that they can get away with just using talent to get them by. Hard work, which it is self evident in Angelina, is a very much as real a part of talent perhaps the biggest part of talent as singing ability.
Talent is just as much required in the area where I teach, Computer Programming. I see some really tallented youngsters all the time but because thing seem easy for them they fail to put in the effort or work to develop their aptitude. Frequently those that are not as gifted but who are prepared to put in the work and yes the stuggle frequently go on to achieve more.
Every band that backs Angelina always has an amazing look on their face and usually clap after Angelina is done singing
I love hear she sing. Hear she sing A Million Years Ago by Adele. This cover is better than original version.
This is one of the rare ones. It was published in dec 2019. But it was recorded much earlier. I don't recall the date for this one, but based soley on appearance angelina is likely only 10 here. She has a special sound to her voice in this rehearsal that I don't hear in her other performances of this song. It so great that her grandmother captured so many of these behind the scenes looks at Angelina. ...and even greater that she has shared them with all of us. The channel that this video comes from ("Mosarz" see link in description) is just packed full of these great videos. Every fan of angelina should go check it out. It's a gold mine. Just looking at Angelina in this rehearsal, I would say that she was 10/11, but I'm confident she wasn't 12 yet. Someday the conductor and band members will have a great memory of playing with/for the Fabulous Angelina Jordan. And I'm guessing that most of them knew they were in the presence of greatness. I'm pretty sure she was between 10 & 11 years old. You can get an idea on her style at 9, 10, & 11. Then 12, 13, & 14. What's amazing is you know it's her no matter what. Almost every aspect of vocal performance and all that goes in to it. She, at least one point in time has mastered it. If it all could be demonstrated in one song, she would be the one to do it. The only problem is we still don't understand how she effortlessly touches you inside, & no is not an answer, or option. You hit play, time to feel!
Agree with the age. The family uploaded a large number of "family" videos in late 2019 spanning a number of years. They give us a delightful insight into Angelina's life you don't see on the official channels. Even more impressive.
She is very tall so people get confused on the age. She is probably 8 or 9 in this video.

Valerie it is always a pleasure to watch you react to and analyze our barefoot princess. I truly believe she is a once in forever musical artist.
And that was her uncle/manager who went out and fetched her water....as for what to watch, go to Rusty Shackleford channel and he has chronological and alphabetical lists for Angelina.
There''s another practice she's doing, in between singing the lines, she's laughing and making fun of her Uncle/manager.
Her talent and her personal just draws you into her. She sings like you are the only person in the room even when it’s a large crowd. Ivan Mendez said in a brilliant interview that he would get lost in her voice and sometimes mess up because of it. He also said most of the videos he did with her were done in one to two takes. She also didn’t rehearse them very much beforehand, which is why in half of them you can see her reading the lyrics off her phone. She is just splendid.
Hi Valerie, Angelina is indeed a master of her craft. And we are so blessed that we are able to enjoy her as she grows and nurture and perfect her craft. You should check out her original "What is life" acoustic version or you can go to Rusty Shackleford's playlist on his channel and work your way up the AJ rabbit hole. I really like this version of the song. The sound is not perfect. But AJ has dialed back the vocal fry just a bit from the other version I have heard. And the runs are great. I love these rehearsal videos where the band breaks into applause after the take.
Thank you Valerie for having chosen to react to one of Angelina's recordings during rehearsals, there are many, archived over the years on the Mosarz channel (luckily for us), ranging from the first recordings in the school to the simple ones at home till to the fantastic one with the London Symphony Orchestra for Quincy Jones' birthday, they are one more interesting than the other, they tell of a talent honed by constant work and always with the support of the members of his fantastic family. There are so many beautiful cameos that make us love that fantastic girl even more ❤️

Like you, I LOVE these rehearsal videos just as much and sometimes even more than the finished product. Your comments on Angelina are always spot on and I enjoy looking forward to the next ones. Thus far, I believe you have only done covers. There are three originals up until she was 12 years old. I would consider doing these as well as they are brilliant each in their own way.

I think you will be amazed not only by her vocal skills but by her composition ability.
No doubt this was a great inspiration to the band. Pure jazz is not the easiest choise for a band like this I think. Surtenly great motivation for them to be able to say; - "Well, Angelina is comming to sing with us, so let us make this work". I don`t know, but I guess this could be a rehearsel for a local consert in Norway. Angelina is happy to answer them: "I`ll be there".
If some of her vocal range runs were graphed and built into an actual rollercoaster, humans would die.

I don't know that I've ever seen her sing with shoes on before ... I was actually a bit surprised. But I love her story about the shoes, she compassion and empathy, and her integrity in always performing barefoot.

Angelina is just 10 years old here, the band is rather loud, and occupying her usual tonal space, she appears to have taken it up a notch, lifted the pitch - needing to be able to stand above the music - I can well understand that she needs the water that uncle has brought her.

When covering the true jazz specialists of yesteryear, Angelina stays pretty much
on script. However, when anyone else is being covered she will inflect her jazz roots,
knowing it will make the song that much more a personal 'touched' presentation by
her. Respect the old jazz......and adjust just about everything else with the possible
exceptions of 'pop like' songs.
yeah... she is not the 14 yr old from 2019 here... this was recorded probably 4 yrs earlier, maybe 2015, around age 10, by appearances and tone relative to her other covers from the time.. Some think this is the time where he voice was changing. Not that it really matters,. But this is NOT Angelina Jordan in 2019.
I agree with Rusty. She is not over 10 years old. Compare the cover "Every Time We Say Goodbye" where she is 10.5 years old. This is the last performance in Norway before she travels to the USA.

Pierre A. I thought she was 13 when she came to L.A. right after her appearance on AGT Champions. A commentor said she was in L.A. to work with a voice coach whose talents were not available in Norway. Possible but unverified by me so far.

I think this was an amateur community band playing for her when she was 10, not 13 or 14. Back in the early days , she didn't always have the best musicians.
