    its not the master cylinder clicking, its the large spring on the clutch pedal assembly. check the spring is seated correctly in its bushing and see if there's any play (from left to right) in the spring.

      It's not that either. It's the metal pin and the cotter that secures the pedal pivot to the master cylinder shaft!

      @@ahadqazi7750 I've not tried myself but I think the cotter pin and the pin itself must be installed new. Alternatively the hole in the master cylinder shaft and the hole in the pedal pivot are worn out and in this case also the master clutch pump and the pedal must be changed.

    hey did the master cylinder replacement take away the noise for good? i saw u changed it 1 year ago.

    The crunching is the master cylinder, all 7th gen accords have this - its just the spring hitting the housing, not a big deal. The shifting is the transmission, if it was the clutch it wouldn't shift well in any gear

    • @pleco101
      @pleco101 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey there - I know your post is 9 years old and you may or may not ever see this question.
      I recently had a new clutch and clutch master cylinder installed in my 7th generation Accord (2007)
      When I engage the clutch pedal in 1st gear to slowly move forward, there's an obvious clicking noise. Only noticeable when engaging 1st, not disengaging, or any other gear.
      Although the first 2 days that the clutch master cylinder was installed - I didn't hear anything, so maybe things have moved around or grease has worn off already?
      The prior clutch master cylinder (original I presume) would loudly click either disengaging or engaging, especially in HOT weather. But - it would be quiet in COLD weather (fall/winter). Weird....

  • @Jason99942
    @Jason99942 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Takes a few minutes for your mechanic to put some Moly grease on the master cylinder.
    Also, try to get into the habit of changing your clutch fluid once per year. That should also help out according to some honda accord forums.
    Not sure how often to have the Moly grease applied but I'm hoping it will last many months without clicking. Good luck. I have a 2006 accord as well. That click was very annoying.

    use SILICONE oil/grease on most right of pedal, other kind of oil won't remove the noise. It's clearly a plastic noise
