I accidentally came across your channel in the recommendations for A50. In the unofficial information environment, all Russian pilots swore at the BUK M3 operators (the same "Fighterbomber"). There was information that the AI system that was tested on the S-350 was implemented in other SAMs, the result is friendly fire. Ukrainian propaganda immediately after the incident attributed defeat to the patriot. I apologize in advance for the possibly incorrect text, I translated it through a translator.
And further. During the defeat, both the A50 and Il22 were flying on a catch-up course relative to the front line. Both by means of recording objective control, and by photo of the Il22 with the damaged tail section of the aircraft. Not a single modification of the Patriot's missiles on a catch-up course would reach such a distance (80 miles is head-on). It was either a BUK M3 or S300PM2 from Crimea
@t-sus - America always undersells its systems. The range of the Patriot is a considerable amount greater than advertised. Only Russia claims "our system will hit a humming bird at 500 kilometers! " when in reality it will hit an office building at 200 kilometers. A Pac-2 is a proximity fuse weapon, Pac-3 is "hit to kill" and has a cockpit bias, meaning NO PILOT HAS EVER SURVIVED a PAC-3. What kind of idiots puts an untested AI system in the field, in a war, then sends an irreplaceable asset in it's vicinity with zero way for it to identify itself as friendly and hopes it doesn't get shot at....?....bullshit! Any American weapons advertised range, you can add 30% to, no problem. This whole conflict, what have we seen.....EVERYTHING RUSSIAN NOT LIVING UP TO RUSSIA'S CLAIMS, WITHOUT FAIL! What else have we seen, EVERYTHING AMERICAN OUT PERFORMING IT'S EXPECTATIONS. From HIMARS to ATACMS to PATRIOT to BRADLEY'S to JAVELINS...so is it Russia trying to embarrass itself and destroy its reputation beyond repair by having the world's worst weapon systems and aircraft, or once again, America's weapons systems are doing what we claim they can and more??? I'll leave it up to you.
im out the loop, would the actual real life operation involved a massive gun battle involving a convoy of shika/gepards shooting the crap out of the Russians? that doesnt quite sound like it would make any sense...?
The Gepard is a modified Leopard 1. The Leopard 1's were lightly armored on the sides trying to keep the weight of the entire vehicle down. It was a very fast tank for its time though. IIRC, it had a top speed around 70km/h. The use of HEAT (High Explosive Anti Tank) ammo during that time period put heavy armor out of vogue with a preference for speed. The employment idea was front to the enemy where it had decent armor and then relocate after a firing a few rounds. That's why the Gepard and Leopard 1 are easy to damage from the sides, the armor there is thin, barely better than the side armor of a Bradley. From what I've been able to dig up on the A-50 event, Ukraine has spent the last two weeks or so destroying radars on the Crimean peninsula with SU-24 strikes and missile strikes. The Russian radar coverage was so depleted from that, that the Russians were forced to bring the A-50 in closer to shore to maintain an accurate picture. Supposedly, they used the S-300 radar as the spotter as Ukraine is out of S-300 missiles so the Ukrainian S-300 isn't considered a "real threat" anymore. Once the A-50 entered into the kill box, the S-300 notified the Patriot battery, the Patriot turned on its radar, fired the missile, then turned off the Patriot radar and the whole Patriot unit packed up and moved north out of range of artillery as fast as they could.
Based on the best information I can find the A-50U uses a radar designated Shmel. The radar is an S band system with a 10x1.6m antenna. Opposite the radar is the IFF antenna, Command Radio Antenna, and probably a counterweight so it is the same size and mass as the radar. It takes 10 seconds for a complete rotation. The onboard computer is 4 Argon-30 units. These are old systems with each CPU being 32bit and capable of 600,000 operations per second, 24Kbits RAM, 256kbits ROM. Overall very old (late 70s early 80s vintage) and low powered which will put a limit on the radar capability. Please note that these have been supplemented by a digital data processor so its no longer a mostly analogue system. The Shmel radar can apparently track 45 targets simultaneously (compared to the estimated 100+ for an E-3). The A-50U has reportedly been given an upgraded Shmel-2 radar however data on that is harder to find. Since the Radome is unchanged it probably uses the same antenna as the older system and just upgrades processing. Overall I would not expect it to be capable of effectively tracking an inbound missile and its slow sweep rate of 10s means even if it can that missile will be on top of them by the time it swings back around. Edit: Fixed 1 Typo
USAF retiring E-3s and buying new E-7 wedgetails with AESA radars. no more slow spinny radomes; instead thousands of cubic kilometers of continuously scanned air space.
I suspect the patriot has a longer than advertised range. Also, the range against non-manueverable/slower aircraft such as AWACS should be longer than against fighters/cruise missiles. The patriot might've been further back than you simulated..
Looking at the published satellite pictures of the contrail racetrack of the AWACS, they were flying partially right up to the coastline in a very regular 20 by 50 kilometre pattern.
I agree the max range is probably further than reported, but I doubt the larger plane would increase the range of the the Patriot system. Sure it would be easier to detect from further out, and sure the probability of kill is most likely higher due to it being unable to maneuver like a fighter jet, but the true Range is determined by the missiles themselves. Sure the effectiveness is increased by the larger plane, but not the range (which is probably unreported)
An-50 has begun its mission to search for and recover the wreck of the Moskva cruiser. Also, I didn't see a single T-80 turret get launched into low Earth orbit after the tank was destroyed, so the T-80s aren't modeled correctly.
@@NOYB11 And this thing where you're going around picking apart minor typos in TH-cam comments is the sort of thing you do when you have a tiny penis and a superiority complex. Guess we both have our faults, huh?
I've heard a rumor it could have been the first deployment of a "Frankensam" S-300/Patriot. Part of the Frankensam project was to allow S-300 radars to guide Patriot missiles. The rumor goes the russian flight detected an S-300 radar emitting but did not react since, allegedly, Ukraine has no missiles in the S-300 complex that could reach them from the contact line, which left them blindsided when a PAC-2 came for them instead. No idea how valid this rumor is, but it's an interesting hypothesis.
They would have been able to detect the missile type by its speed. Patriot missiles go much slower than the s300 missiles. Would have been obvious it was a patriot missile
The Patriot is data linked with the US/Coalition EAWACS aircraft. The A-50 is a massive target and a huge target is easy to see. This will not have been a Ukrainian driven operation, we all know how incredibly valuable these aircraft are. I also find it very convenient it happened a day after Britain landed more supplies to Ukraine.
You can also watch Globalhawks and RC135s loitering around the borders on commercial sites like Flightradar24. So the US E3s or GHawks that DON'T have active transponders could have easily fed information to the Ukrainians.
What your describing isn't a rumor, so it turns out that in a similar area to where the A-50 got hit a few hours before there was an SU-35 which launched a KH-59 toward Kherson area, as the pilot was launching the missile a S300 radar picked him up and he dived down and left the area, its known that this happened because that pilot reported it and he was unsure if a actual missile was launched at him, hours later the A-50 and IL-22M were hit. So yeah the most likely theory is that Ukraine used a cheaper less advanced radar as part of a FrankenSAM setup and then launched the PAC-2 at those aircraft. A day before this happened our defence said that we would share intel with Ukraine's defence and thats likely how Ukraine knew when was the right moment to strike.
in the US they have successfully operated the PATRIOT system from a AEGIS control room, which is not a straight forward option - thus why IBCS is being developed -. imagine them doing the reverse and have RIM-167 SM-3 (900+km range) launched from a PATRIOT battery
@@miriamweller812Well, the marine corps is getting those land-mobile VLS launchers for tomahawks, so I don't see why a SM-6, 3 or 2 can't be put inside one of those cells since they're the exact same thing as based on ships.
@@smuganimeface6247Aegis Ashore already exists. There are sites in Romania and Poland and they’re building another on Guam. These are stationary though so there is a problem of working out if it is even possible to mount them on trucks given their large size and power needs.
I think that the patriot's radar was deeper in the rear, because it sees further, and the launcher was pulled closer to the front. The launcher does not emit radiation. It is theoretically possible to link them together and hit the A-50 and Il-22
Nothing theoretical about linking the radar that is further out and launcher in the front. Patriot system has a modular/distributed architecture and Launching Station can be connected to Engagement Control Station via either fiber optic or VHF radio link. The masts in transmitting antennas (in a component called Antenna Mast Group) can be extended to be over 30 meters high, this indicates range at least in tens of kilometers.
Hi again! What about a Morocco vs Algeria face-off? Morocco has F-16s and Patriot PAC-3s, and Algeria boasts Su30s and S-400s. Considering their actual tensions, this could make an interesting video.
I can't see Ukraine moving a Patriot battery that close to the front lines. I'm leaning more towards it being an air-to-air missile -- or, and hear me out on this, an AGM-88 HARM. I know... "But they are for shooting at SAMs on the ground" yes, they are. However, they home onto radars. Hitting a giant, slow moving aircraft which has an absolutely MASSIVE radar emitting insane energy with an AGM-88, does not seem all that far-fetched to me -- and we know for a fact that Ukraine was given, and has used AGM-88's.
I'd bet money that the Australian E-7 in the area was doing the actually detection and tracking work and Ukraine just had to use an S-300 or Patriot radar to make the kill look plausible. We're still pretty salty about the commercial airliner that the Russians shot down a while ago.
i think it will not have same range as against ground targets. Because of A-50 moving and moving pretty fast for antiground SEADs. AGM88 will bleed a lot of energy on maneuvers and leading target)
@@DiegoHernandez-bh4sw The AGM-88 has a 13nmi range from low-level firing; that's worse case scenario. Ukrainian fighters could have flown over the Black Sea near Odesa, went South and then turned back East where they could have gotten within a few miles of the A-50 and launched. It seems far fetched, but both sides are flying their aircraft like 100 feet off the ground, and successfully avoiding radar while doing it. I think it's very possible, and even more plausible than a Patriot Battery being moved right into the front lines. Or, an air-to-air missile. Either way would require Ukrainian fighters to fly low over the Black Sea.
Gents, ladies, love the work.......one small matter..........AWACS are operated by CREWS NOT only pilots ! The CREW bailed out............just saying.......( ex- AWACS CREW member).....
The A-50 actually has a pretty bad radar. At least a generation behind the E-3. Means it has to operate quite a bit closer to be effective than western AWACS would. I'll bet the Australian E-7 in the area could see the A-50 long before the A-50 could see the E-7.
Pretty accurate although both planes would detect the radar of the other long before they could see them on radar due both platforms having ESM systems.
@@interastra367 Dude, wth? 30 times,? really? Secondly, just by having F-35s we are ahead of the majority of the world. They may not be exactly suited to our needs, but they are still the best in the world by a wide margin. The E-7 is also currently the best in it's class, which is why so many are on order. The navy is another issue and not the focus of this vid.
@@AusExplorer I'm terribly sorry for 30 replies. When i was clicking the 'reply' button, it was clicking but wasn't going away, so I assumed that it didn't got through. And also, yes, not the focus of video. Yes the E-7 is a glorious AWACS system, but we only have 6. For a gosh darn massive country. There have been talks, but not much more. All 6 of them flying at once could cover all of Australia's Northern Coast and then some, but defending them is another issue, which is navy, which is not the point of the video. Plus, 72 or more F35's are a formidable force, but 'ahead of the rest of the world' might be an overstatement.
@@interastra367 Ok so, we don't need to cover everything with E-7s, they're more of a tactical asset than a strategic one for our use case specifically. We have an over-the-horizon-radar network [due to complete stage 6 upgrades soon] that gives us days of advanced warning about what is coming our way. Combine that with the geosynchronous sat network operated out of Pine Gap [that has recently completed the first trials of link 16 testing] and there is no way to launch a surprise attack on Australia. So AWACS would only be deployed in areas that need real-time coverage to that degree. Also don't underestimate their capability, there is a reason the USA can afford to reduce their AWACS fleet by one third when they replace their E-3s with E-7s. As to the comment about ahead of the rest of the world, obviously I'm referring to potential adversaries, I can't think of a single potential enemy air-force that could come all the way to Australia and go head-to-head with 70 F-35As and win. We can debate about our ability to sustain the fight in the long term with relation to missile stockpiles, but I've no doubt we'd be fine for the amount of time It'd take to get allied reinforcements and expedited munitions resupply. Additionally we are moving towards local production [to a greater or less degree] of several missile types.
After the bone-r and tu160-r video, it works be fun to see a Microprose F-19 reeanactment video - in that game they had the A-50 (identified as IL in-game) which shot badass missiles right at you. One of the most difficult threats in that game. Imagine an A-50 with an OP radar and a rotary launcher of the nastiest AA missiles there is :)
Probably because arma maps are way too small to simulate this. The biggest arma map I have played on is 80x80km. Plus the max view range in arma is only 12km.
Are ED planing to complete this map in near future, or ever? It's shame, that only ~1/4 is in full detail (especially since ~1/3 is water). Would make more space for missions and campaigns. And reanacting more interesting. Aside that, great video. As always. Made me consider adding Combined Arms to my modules.
Excellent vid. Nice to see a different point of view. Going to have to load up Combined Arms again. Haven't tried it for awhile. Congrats on the baby Cap.
i assume there is some rethinking going on in Germany and elsewhere how to defend against drones while avoiding the option of ludicrously expensive missiles as much as possible. a modernised Gepard thing doesn't sound like the stupidest idea. Or will it be straight to Laser? Also Fly and Simba roleplaying as Clarkson and May, with completely accidental bumpings.
Lasers are not possible, physically. Their beam becomes wider with every meter, just making impossible to concentrate energy on small spot. It only can be used to blind or interfere specific parts like drone camera or navigation head of a missile
@@tetispinkman9135 While they do have some limited dispersion, a properly constructed laser has remarkably little - you can fire one at the moon and hit a target only a couple of meters across (which is how we get exact enough measurements of its distance to know that it is migrating outward at a rate measured in cm/year). The real reason they aren't practical is simply that in order to do significant enough damage to something moving at any significant speed requires quite a lot of power being pumped into it (so that you can deliver enough in the very limited time you can accurately lase the target), and at least for now no systems have that sort of energy density. There's a reason that they were first investigated recently for use on nuclear powered ships… and why a couple of decades ago the research was based on "one shot" chemical lasers, where the energy is stored in a crystalline structure ahead of time and thus can be incredibly densely stored.
Meteor has not been provided to Ukraine, and the MiG-29 lacks the datalink required to guide it. Meteor hasn't even entered service yet with Britain's F-35s, complex missiles require a lot of effort to integrate.
@@jameshodgson3656 I was not aware of the datalink guidance and didn't think it was likely anyway. I just thought it would be fun to watch GR try out the scenario. Thank you for the info on the Meteor.
Hey Cap! I really enjoyed seeing the tactics and special vehicles on this one! I wanted to make a request for a fictional but potential scenario. You and the boys are relaxing at RAF Lossiemouth, and receive a QRA, But this isn't any QRA. The Russian North Sea fleet and a full air wing have decided to try their luck against the UK. They have managed to get under the radar of the Nordic states and are positioned 100/150 miles north east of Scotland, your task would be to repel the Russian onslaught using our primary defenses for the UK, the RAF, and maybe a couple naval assets like type 45s stationed in the North. It would be cool to see it as a fictional but realist-ish scenario where you have to scramble and protect our skies over Scotland. A good old crumpet Vs. Vodka situation. Would love to see this! And think it would be a fun, tricky event (maybe even a couple F15s) can join in from our partner bases! Kind regards! Keep up the great content :)
One thing I’d like to empathise although it’s a simulated environment with available assets that fit the purpose it does sterilise the actual mindset, like with many situations equipment utilised obviously have a certain benchmark that it can reach involving range, time it can operate etc but many systems these days have a override which will configure weapon systems and other equipment to operate way past its safety margin especially in time of war and conflict to the point it will just go turbo until it’s rather destroyed or the system wears out.
hey cap i got a question. or anyone in here. i have some current hill assets in my game. i love to run sead missions and use my haarms. but when i place a 3rd party asset in game with a radar. it wont show it on HAD or the HAARM seeker. i get the rwr symbol. but thats it. i cannot lock and fire at the new assets. any help would be great
no plne survives a PAC 2 impact the missile is so good in some cases it hits the plane itself and detonates after going throught the wings or the body and if not the PAC 2 has a 92kg Warhead with about 5000 schrapnel peaces........ yeah that a small bomb .

I'm not sure I agree with the Patriot theory. Patriot instructor, Habitual Line Crosser, has mentioned several times about which part of the aircraft Patriot targets to ensure success. We don't know for certain re the A-50, however the frag pattern on the IL-22 isn't on the correct part of the aircraft irl. Patriot, specifically the PAC-2 missiles, target the cockpit area by coming down on top of it as it did in the video. It does this to ensure the kill. If you're in a fighter, you'd be ejecting up into the missile and it's frag. There's a reason no one is known to have survived a Patriot interception. I also don't think they'd want to risk moving the battery so close to the front, even though the range and speed of the missiles is much further and faster than advertised. Might be wrong, but from what HLC has said about Patriot and how it targets aircraft, I have some doubts.
they have almost nothing left to use for that purpose and a few on the ground that will not fly that can be used for parts to maybe make a franken AWACs. They have other areas that also need observation and very few vehicles left to do it. They will likely be making do with ground units and connectivity based big picture from smaller pictures. They have satellite resources but nowhere near the kind of stuff we have (and share info with Ukraine from).

As an individual that lives and breaths ukraine war updates and mapping i can personally tell you that this is utterly silly. It is still a fun and interesting video to watch. But insanely unrealistic in terms of how warfare works in this conflict. P.s. there has yet to be any proof of the russian awacs actually getting downed. But we all know how honest the Ukrainian government is with their reporting of combat statistics/data, WINK WINK😊
I enjoy these simulations, but I was surprised that in this case NONE of the opposing armoured vehicles seemed to be firing at the "good guys". They might as well have been unarmoured transport trucks. Were they firing and was there any damage to the Bradleys? In the real world with that many vehicles there must have been at least some impacts.
@@WyvernFalken No? The only Russian channel whose claimed the A-50U was shot down would be Fighterbomber. The MoD is silent, and others are simply wary of the news (given the lack of proof).
Thank god we have fighter bomber tg channel for honest information, atleast they value their fallen comrades other than simply ignore it, they also say the shoot down has nothing to do with Ukraine rather it being friendly fire.
Trusting russians is already dumb, but believing value for dead is something russians are capable of doing, is just ignorance. You should better learn history of wars russia participated in, especially in early soviet days.

Holy HIMARS, Cap’n Kirk!
As soon as I read the headline about the Russian A-50, I immediately stared hoping you would play out the scenario. You guys never disappoint.
Same here!

Yup, same
im out the loop, would the actual real life operation involved a massive gun battle involving a convoy of shika/gepards shooting the crap out of the Russians? that doesnt quite sound like it would make any sense...?
A little correction. A-50 is based on the old soviet transport IL-76. It is not an Antonov design, it is Ilyushin.
Thanks!
And Beriev did the conversion, IIRC.

Cap never has been good at obeying his own h'ordeurves.
I presume he knew he was gonna be resupplied soon, so he might as well spend it.
We also know Russian IFF capabilities are SEVERELY lacking.
It absolutely does. The U.S. under reports range and capabilities
i would assume so too
Russian plane was not shot down
Don't fall on this disinformation

Kudos for you to use the word hypothesis.
29:00 Cap really showed the farmland between him and the enemy who's boss!
Depriving the enemy of fertile farming land??
in the US they have successfully operated the PATRIOT system from a AEGIS control room, which is not a straight forward option - thus why IBCS is being developed -.
imagine them doing the reverse and have RIM-167 SM-3 (900+km range) launched from a PATRIOT battery
That's like trying to put a rifle round into a pistole.
@@miriamweller812Well, the marine corps is getting those land-mobile VLS launchers for tomahawks, so I don't see why a SM-6, 3 or 2 can't be put inside one of those cells since they're the exact same thing as based on ships.

Cap: "patriot is errect, i am errect"
Me too Cap. Me too.
Great show; super entertaining, I actually jumped up from my seat when the climax arrived! Well done. Stalemate? I think not!
Hi again! What about a Morocco vs Algeria face-off? Morocco has F-16s and Patriot PAC-3s, and Algeria boasts Su30s and S-400s. Considering their actual tensions, this could make an interesting video.
Ethiopia vs Somalia could be an interesting one, as Somalia has a ton of MiG-17s while Ethiopia has a few Su-27s
So glad Fly is back. Miss his accent
Your theory is actually correct, the problem is the range, too much for a harm
Ru admitted it was friendly fire.
I heard a rumor that it was in fact the Grim Reapers who shot it down
By accident...
23:22 “oops finger slipped” LOL
Accidental warcrime.
Not that the Australian Airforce is much to be reckoned with. Or the Air Defense system as well. Or our navy. So few SM slots.
You didn't go the wrong way or lost, you just became geographically embarrassed. 🙂 "Fly Navy"

Cool, Thanks CAP, TEAM GR! Much appreciated!!!
Another reason, besides jamming, to fly close to the coast is the radio horizon, so awacs could detect targets behind the front line.
After the briefing I'm wondering why this wasn't an Arma mission.
Probably because arma maps are way too small to simulate this. The biggest arma map I have played on is 80x80km. Plus the max view range in arma is only 12km.

a modernised Gepard thing doesn't sound like the stupidest idea. Or will it be straight to Laser?
Also Fly and Simba roleplaying as Clarkson and May, with completely accidental bumpings.
Look up Sky Shield and MANTIS.
@@AusExplorerskyranger 30!!!!! :D
@@tetispinkman9135 Wrong. We already have working laser weapons. We even have a laser that can interfere with space debris.
Love the videos not only that it only seems like yesterday you were saying mid January 2023 lol
Cap taking up James May navigating skills.
Clarkson!
I saw some speculation earlier that it might have been a Meteor A2A fired from a Ukranian MIG. I wonder if GR could test that theory as well?
Meteor has not been provided to Ukraine, and the MiG-29 lacks the datalink required to guide it. Meteor hasn't even entered service yet with Britain's F-35s, complex missiles require a lot of effort to integrate.
@@jameshodgson3656 I was not aware of the datalink guidance and didn't think it was likely anyway. I just thought it would be fun to watch GR try out the scenario. Thank you for the info on the Meteor.
Dang! Talk about up-to-date videos!
Love these real-world scenarios.
Cap was being so frugal with his ammo compared to everyone else at the start
Great Video ! Reapers for the win!
Fly: preparing radar aided solution to shoot at frogfeet. Cap: shoots with reckless abandon.
its called German Efficiency 😁😁
Well what did you expect??
Guys ..what a spot on job ..so much fun .. you have to do more of this stuff ..very entertaining ..
The voiceover sounds scarily like Nick Rhodes from Duran Duran
That or when Habitual Linecrosser snorts and laughs whenever he says the range of the patriot, it's because it really is longer than publicly stated
Yes maybe.
Well, he is a Patriot operator....
We are having some intense weeks
You only use manual fire, not the radar controlled firing?
21:49 Cap notice he haz radar!
Cap wasn't los,t he was extending the left flank defensive corridor. "Eyes to your front! Mark your target when it comes!"
One thing I’d like to empathise although it’s a simulated environment with available assets that fit the purpose it does sterilise the actual mindset, like with many situations equipment utilised obviously have a certain benchmark that it can reach involving range, time it can operate etc but many systems these days have a override which will configure weapon systems and other equipment to operate way past its safety margin especially in time of war and conflict to the point it will just go turbo until it’s rather destroyed or the system wears out.
hey cap i got a question. or anyone in here. i have some current hill assets in my game. i love to run sead missions and use my haarms. but when i place a 3rd party asset in game with a radar. it wont show it on HAD or the HAARM seeker. i get the rwr symbol. but thats it. i cannot lock and fire at the new assets. any help would be great
Love these videos boys!
damn your guys are FAST... i just saw this news and then the video comes right after.
THat was amazing! THank you for the video!
Very enjoyable beginning to my weekend, there :3
@Grim Reapers - I’m curious, any info, yet, about the new U.S. AWACS, the E-7?
Very nice! I've missed your older african land adventures. Those were fun!
no plne survives a PAC 2 impact the missile is so good in some cases it hits the plane itself and detonates after going throught the wings or the body and if not the PAC 2 has a 92kg Warhead with about 5000 schrapnel peaces........ yeah that a small bomb .
Agreed
Nice mix up :)
Great change up!
Cap say's "Please stay as disciplined as you can please! It will be important!" LOL Cap come on you are talking to the Grim Reaper crew. Proper expectations please! 🤣
When you are a beautiful human in a sexy machine, you don’t have to drive the right way unless you want to because you have already won!! I love the humor (or humour 😅) and creative spirit in your videos. Cheers!
4:20 ooo spicy take
opppssss finger slipped ! Legend
They confirmed that they used a patriot system.
Salt and Pepper's "Push it" was 1987 - not 90s.
they have almost nothing left to use for that purpose and a few on the ground that will not fly that can be used for parts to maybe make a franken AWACs. They have other areas that also need observation and very few vehicles left to do it. They will likely be making do with ground units and connectivity based big picture from smaller pictures. They have satellite resources but nowhere near the kind of stuff we have (and share info with Ukraine from).
A guns down.
That's all she wrote.
C & D guns firing.
They're wall to wall down there
Is it normal the the radar dish on top is rotating counter-clockwise but the radar screen in top-left seems to be rotating clockwise?
Is the proximity fused ammunition modeled for the Geppard? Doesn't appear so. It's kind of a big deal.
Sadly not.
(From HLC) Remember, one or more of the American ADA systems don't target the airframe. Their bias is the cockpit.
There was 5 fully functional AWACKS in Russia. Ukraine just shot down 1... the drine strike unit isn't known if it was functional or not
This... But have the Grim Reapers drive down to the pub.😛

First Wanger and now Ukraine. Yikes
Interesting. Like seeing more Ukraine in DCS. Can you do some more Vietnam scenarios?
I have a feeling that they all accepted this was not at all going to be an accurate representation of the combat going on in ukraine.
Russia confirmed the downing, but said it was friendly fire. Stop being a putin bot.

Quick Question; what is meant by TBM guidance re Patriot missile?
TVM - Track Via Missile: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Track-via-missile
I enjoy these simulations, but I was surprised that in this case NONE of the opposing armoured vehicles seemed to be firing at the "good guys". They might as well have been unarmoured transport trucks. Were they firing and was there any damage to the Bradleys? In the real world with that many vehicles there must have been at least some impacts.
Is there still any visual evidence that this really happened?
Russia has confirmed it.
@@WyvernFalken No? The only Russian channel whose claimed the A-50U was shot down would be Fighterbomber. The MoD is silent, and others are simply wary of the news (given the lack of proof).
I haven't seen anything concrete BUT when the big news channels start reporting it I would think it has happened.
Thank god we have fighter bomber tg channel for honest information, atleast they value their fallen comrades other than simply ignore it, they also say the shoot down has nothing to do with Ukraine rather it being friendly fire.
Bye bye russian shill
Trusting russians is already dumb, but believing value for dead is something russians are capable of doing, is just ignorance.
You should better learn history of wars russia participated in, especially in early soviet days.
