- In this episode of "Combat Approved, the viewers will see a unique aircraft A-50. Officially it is called an early warning and control system. In fact, it is a huge flying radar, which can see hundreds of air and surface targets in hundreds of miles of range. In our episode, we're going to put it through some tests. We'll see if the A-50 can see such sophisticated targets as An-2 planes, which are actually made of cloth and wood. To confuse the radar, we'll arrange those planes in a complicated figure, a stack. And then we'll see if the A-50 radar will detect a helicopter hovering motionless in the air. In addition, for the first time on TV, we will present the new generation aircraft A-100. It has no analogues in the world. In terms of its technical characteristics, this vehicle is many years ahead of all its foreign competitors. A-100 is able to see the enemy not only in the air and over water, but even on the ground. Its radar, like the antenna of A-50, sees all 360 degrees around, but twice as far and more precise.

apparently, it can detect the s200 missiles that shot it down but has little counter-measures. I don't quite understand the purpose of equipping flares on an AWACS plane since infra-red guided missiles are quite short ranged and AWACS would not be anywhere near the front lines.

A-50 is big and bulky and easy to be downed like any big aircraft. That is why in today warfare nobody comes close to battlefield with that kind of aircraft. It was not downed by some unknown super missile, it was downed by stinger from RU territory. The RU could knock it down Poseidon, Global hawk or any spy aircraft or drone over Black Sea if they wanted, but they did not, they only knocked Reaper drone by dumping fuel flyover few months ago. In every war people got killed and military equipment gets destroyed, nothing new, the question is who can produce enough weapons and who has more trained soldiers and who is closer to the battlefield. All of this is greedy Banksters/Corporations agenda to spread this war across entire EU like they did in WW2 and to make tons of many out of it, saving $ as reserve currency. Only this time the risk is much higher, the risk of global thermonuclear war. If this thing goes further and shit hits the fan it will be duck and cover technique for the most of us.

Europe has about 14 Million Men (quick count) which can be conscripted into war... Yes, ultimately we would still win a war of attrition, but 50-60 million people still die and nuclear war becomes far more attractive to psychotic pootin.

@Roger Ritchie . It only means these guys can see the stealth aircraft. Does not imply others have same tech. So naturally if they keep producing aircraft claiming stealth, it could also mean their own radars cant detect them, so they assume no one else can. In which case if the russians build same structure, the americans cant detect that too
Yes stealth is only effective within the range/frequency that it is designed to be non reflective in, older radar systems won't pick it up, scanned array using multiple frequency will! + there's optical sensors that work in a similar way, light,electromagnetic,sound,heat are all detectable wavelengths!
@Roger Ritchie it's not that stealth aircraft can't be stealthy, it's about having the radar complexes that can detect them, not many have them and those that do laugh
