The S22 😊 You should've taken the smaller one for your test, as people who don't want a big phone will neither buy the Plus not the Ultra model. But as camera system is the same in S22 and S22+, it's good to see that the smaller models as expected can't compete with 10x optical but are otherwise doing really nice. Thanks for the test. Now Exynos models please as well.
Exactly the review I was looking for thank you. I appreciate that the Ultra has a better camera set up at the extremes of photography and so it should but I pre-ordered the S22+ because for 90% of my photography the S22+ is comparable to the Ultra. Other reasons were, price and form factor differences which I prefer on the +.
2 things: 1. I'll be in Orlando in June & my wife & I will have the S22+ & the S22 Ultra. 2. How were you able to get on the grounds of the Riviera Resort? 🤣
Can we all agree that you make the best Camera comparisons on TH-cam. You also made it hard for me. I already bought the Ultra because of the camera. Only advantage is 10x zoom but other that is pretty the same. Now I'm in doubt of getting the S22+ instead because I like a flat display and smaller footprint.
I did the same thing, ordered the S22+ then called Samsung today and got the Ultra instead. It seems like for an extra two hundred bucks you get alot more bang for your buck with the Ultra. For one, both cameras front and back. The display refresh rate on the Ultra is variable down to 10hz whereas the s22 and plus can barely go down to 48hz, which will affect battery life. The screen resolution on the s22+ is only 1080p. There's a couple more things I can't remember but it seems like all the goodies were packed in the Ultra. I get why Samsung did that and I hate it. Personally Id want a smaller more compact phone to be able to hold in my hand but it seems these put lesser features and ultimately felt like the smaller phones are downgrades compared to the Ultra.
I guess think how much you need the camera features. Personally I'd love to have the flexibility of the Ultra . Size may be an issue as my current phone is big but narrow compared to a Note style phone.
I bought the S22+ for its form factor. Perfect size. It feel premium in the hand and the flat screen looks classy. I didn't notice any speed nor picture quality difference when I compared them at Best Buy.
I'd agree if it had the same front camera as the ultra. Ultras front camera is way better and I'd be using that a lot. Hate the shape of the ultra and curved screen but the front camera is so much better for vlogging
Before I got my Ultra, I was also in doubt and considered S22+, because from my computer screen, S22+ looked more attractive, also I was never a fan of the Note's pointy corners, and had never used S pen. BUT, since the price difference is only 200eur (in this price category 200eur somehow seems a small amount) I went with the Ultra, simply because of the zoom capabilities and other features that are a bit superior to base models. Then, even before I had gotten my phone, I saw all three models in a store and just fell in love with the Ultra's design. So, in the end, I am very happy with my choice.
I loved the s22+ design more and hate the sharp ugly corners of the Ultra as well as the size and weight.. but i ordered it because it is the more superior phone while the plus and base s22 seemed like a big downgrade compared to what is being spent on them. Wish Samsung put all the good features even in the smaller sized factor phones.
@@niggaplease2157 I got the burgundy one. Looked more feminine than the black 🙂 (I live in Latvia - Europe, and for the 256GB version we only had black and burgundy options) Also got the original Samsung transparent case with the kickstand. I read that dust gathers easily around the lenses, this solves that problem, also they're more protected with the case, as is the phone itself.
@@foofstarr4856 That's pretty silly. You got a phone that you find ugly and too big and heavy for you because other people think it's better? The base and plus models are definitely not "a big downgrade." The main difference is the pen. And extreme zoom, I guess, though you will get crappy quality on such high zoom so it's a novelty to play with once or twice and that's it.
They should have made the camera system of the S22+ exactly the same as the ultra. It has the better size and feel than the ultra but i would not want to miss out on the camera extras of the ultra.
Basically, low light shots and zooming in past 10x is where it matters. Other than that there just isn't too much in it. So apart from design and S-pen, they're really close!
I live how samsung finally manage to unify the bezel on s22 and s22 plus! It looks so much better than they used to be. As a s9 plus user, I hate the reflection on the curve display in the day light, also how hard the screen protector to put on the curve display... Definetly go for the s22 plus for the flat display this time around!
I went to the store and had a look at both the Ultra and + version. First things first: my first phone ever was the original Galaxy Note back in 2011. I really loved it and was a Note fan ever since. I've had multiple Notes since then and when I heard they brought back the Note under the name S22 Ultra, I was super excited. It has amazing specs and the pen is a feature I always liked, but after feeling both of them I have to admit I went with the S22+ It feels so premium in the hand I can't describe it. The bezels are so super thin all around and uniform as well. It's super easy to grip onto and feels comfortable to hold. The S22 Ultra on the other hand, while being a beast, is not comfortable at all. It's wider than previous models, and the corners dig into your palms which isn't great for one-handed use. Not to mention the fact that I started to dislike curved screens after having curved screen Galaxies the past few years. The curves are a weak spot (all my curved Galaxies shattered at the curved edges). If they made the S22 Ultra with a flat screen I would consider it. It is a beast of a phone but for me... I'm going with the S22+ for now with increased storage. It has almost everything the S22 Ultra has including Wifi 6E, UWB, same processor, and the 50MP camera is also very good.
I agree. I own a Note 10 plus and I love the s pen but it is not a deal breaker for me. However I want the best camera but also a physical refresh so in that last regard the S22 Ultra does not excite me. The perfect phone for me would be the S22+ with the Ultras cameras and maybe the s pen but that would be just a cherry on top.
I saw one where they did the 13 pro max against the s22 ultra and the Galaxy won in almost every shot (one weird inside car shot had better shading on the iPhone. ) The Galaxy S22 Ultra also had far better detail on crop shots than iPhone. It also had better portrait mode where even stray hairs where in the correct focus where on the iPhone the hairs were missed by the AI. That sensor is really insane. I THINK it's a new Sony sensor
This was exactly what I needed and so helpful. Thank you for a great comparison! I don't usually comment, but since I watched 'til the end, and this was so well made, I had to say Thanks! I am deciding on the 22+ for size mainly, and you sold me that I didn't need the little extras. Especially if they are so close from what I can see from all your wonderful shots. Perfect phone would be the 22+ size with the Ultra extras. I have never used a pen, so maybe the next upgrade. Changing from a 9+, so all will be good anyway!
I've never seen another reviewer make an honest comparison of cameras. camera angles, features, they never say the advantages of galaxy s22, there is just standard comparisons they do. Well done danny ;
S22+ for me, it's better other than the super zoom and the macro. The S22+ is less over processed. The Ultra needs a lot of work on some of the pictures I have seen in other vids as well. If you have to crop in yes the Ultra but otherwise the S22+ is more natural looking. What does concern me is that Samsung can change your camera on you as they 'upgrade' the software and they could easily down grade the S22+ and upgrade the ultra since that will be needed.
damn i might actually cancel S22U pre order and get the Plus if pricing difference in my region isn't only $120. prefer the flat screen, smaller size, better bottom speaker placement, better thermals & camera gap is not as big as i thought
I returned the ultra and have a plus on order. The ultra was just too big and unbalanced. The pen seemed gimmicky too and I probably won't use it much.
Brilliant comparison, thanks! It would also be great if you could do a camera comparison between the last Note models (or, let's say the last s-pen equipped models); the Note 10, 20 and S22 Ultra. Keep up the great work!
The s22+ is a really safe phone to go for. It has good battery life, great cameras, bright display, Fast charging. It's doesn't stand out nor stand appart but its very safe which is pretty good.

I love direct pictures than cropped ones. And I don't like taking pictures in 4:3 aspect ratio but 16:9 and you can't get the high resolution picture in that ratio
Outstanding comparison. It's really hard to choose. S22+ looks sleeker with a flat display but the S22 Ultra offers a better selfie camera and a macro camera. So hard!
Danny, excellent job.. after 30+ years as a hematologist and using the best optical microscopes I can say that a few of the ones you had to "punch in" were rather clear to me without it . Honestly the only reason I went with the ultra is that my fingers do not trigger the fingerprint reader on the 20ultra and I am hoping for a massive improvement here or may return and wait for new iphones.
This is exactly what I was looking for! I just don't think I would use the mega zoom on the Ultra and for me personally I wouldn't really use the S Pen and it would be tough to use one handed. So this gives me confidence I can go to the 22 or 22+ and not feel like I'm missing much on the camera side. Thanks!!
Awesome comparison and I watched till the very end. The S22+ did a great job but for those who are considering the Ultra, I think the S-Pen makes a difference to photography which should be taken into consideration.
Yes, better than expected from the s22+, this is the one I'm considering from T-Mobile. Great job on the consistency of these new devices, really like these comparisons 👍🏽👍🏽...
I have the S22+ on pre order, don’t feel so bad now about not stretching to the ultra. Also I live in UK and I’m heading to WDW in September and cannot wait to get some amazing shots!
Just got the S22 Ultra 512gb sight unseen and it is a heavy brick! I would pay the same price as an ultra for a S22+ if it had the same cameras in a smaller, lighter package with no curved glass.
This review is awesome. Im torn bc i dont think ill really use the S pen and the ultra is just massive but i want the best camera setup. If theh made a plus with the camera options or a smaller ultra I wouldnt have a problem.
Colors are certainly very close. I do see S22U being slightly sharper in several pictures, which I like. The macro was no comparison, but maybe it's possible to improve by getting as close as possible, then cropping in......I still getting amazing macro shots on my P4A, with a few tricks. I have the 22 coming for the form factor, despite having large hands.
Man I really wish they would have put the Ultra camera in an S22+ body and made a 4th phone. I do not want an S-pen, and boxy sides but I definitely want the camera of the Ultra.
Great vid. Still can’t decide which model to go with! I make all my TH-cam vids on my s10 now but want to upgrade. This review helps and makes it even harder to decide lol. Thanx again
Hi Danny. New to the channel. Great video. Have you used the 10X optical zoom camera to take video vs using the video mode and clicking 6X? If so, does long pressing while in the 10X camera for video keep it on that camera sensor or switch to main video sensor. I do see better crisper video using 10x but I have to keep holding the button for duration of the video. Hopefully, they add video button for the 10X camera.
I honestly don't want the S pen since ialrrady have my tablet and prefer using in it, and I don't like the edges in the Ultra and design but I like the camera better because I want to be use thid câmera in concerts cuz when I went on a concert last month I regreted not having thr best câmera even though I was in the front row só I'm going with the Ultra
Thanks for thinking from the shoes of a purchaser! It really helped me think of what I NEED, not WANT. Fomo was defs what was keeping me from buying. I wish I found your channel before I bought my previous phones!
An average consumer wouldn't be able to tell the difference in real life use, just pick any is my advice, they are both Great in my opinion and you would be just fine with any
That was an awesome comparison Danny, thank you so much for making this VDO. I think I'll go for the S22+ because I don't use the S Pen, I like the flat screen, the weight is more bearable, and the camera as show in this VDO is great!
Did the Galaxy S22+ camera do better than you thought? After seeing this which one would you get the S22 Ultra or S22/S22 Plus?
What about sot/ battery life differences ? No one in TH-cam has compared the sot of those two devices with identical use :(

The S22 😊 You should've taken the smaller one for your test, as people who don't want a big phone will neither buy the Plus not the Ultra model. Thanks for doing this comparison! It’s exactly what I was looking for.
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!
Perfect variety of photos, perfect commentary, perfect length!
My heart!!! Both of them look good. Tough haha. Thank you so much for taking the time to view both of the phones. Just subbed :) 🙏🏼🙏🏼😊😊
Should we go for S22+ or S21 ultra
Fantastic camera comparison video as always! Keep up the good work! 😁
Great comparison sir .
The 22 almost ultra definitely won more points in zoom and overall clearer shots in general imo , but the 22+ did quite well.
Thank you, this was very helpful almost a year later
Great video thanks! Are those exynos 2200 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 1?
I saw the S22 and the S22 Ultra in store earlier today, and the base S22 felt a lot better. Glad to see that the S22’s camera is still pretty great!
This review is awesome. Im torn bc i dont think ill really use the S pen and the ultra is just massive but i want the best camera setup. If theh made a plus with the camera options or a smaller ultra I wouldnt have a problem.
I have exactly the same thoughts. Which one did you take?
I thought, though the ultra had more sharp night video in certain instances, but the plus was brighter.
Going with the s22+. I am returning my z fold 3 to tmobile and am looking for the simplicity of a normal phone again.
The video i was looking for.. thanks
Can we get a galaxy s22+ vs iphone 13 pro max or iPhone 13
Doing great work Danny. 👍🏼
I have the ultra. But I also have the s21 ultra.....I'm torn. I might wait till November for the note 23🤷♀️
Great vid. Still can’t decide which model to go with! I make all my TH-cam vids on my s10 now but want to upgrade. This review helps and makes it even harder to decide lol. Thanx again
Omg, this is what I've been waiting for. Thank you Danny!!!
I will go for the plus because i dont use s pen and i prefer flat display
Hi ! Thanks for all your reviews.
Could you do a versus between S22+ and OnePlus 10 Pro please ?
Thank you exactly needed. Is it basically the same for the 23's?
Nice work!! 👍🏻
Would like to see comparison between S22ultra/plus vs oneplus10pro
Bro if possible take closer light video shot at night .it gives more details about cameras nighg performance.
Thank you for the comparison🔥✌🏻
Love your videoes the perspective of your camera comparison and u have g8 experience 👏👏💕 ✌🏿
Love from INDIA 🇮🇳
Please do S22 vs S21 camera test as well
if s22+ have QHD display it would be perfect phone.
Since I prefer the bigger phone and battery the Ultra definitely! But really Impressed how the s22+ handled these shots.
Best camera test content creator IMO
🙏🏻
