    FIRST! (Always wanted to do that 🤣)
    Also, these are dynamic pieces. They look Game of Thrones-inspired. How long to let the base dry before adding the textured scales?

    • @PiecesofTaraArtistry
      @PiecesofTaraArtistry  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      lol! Thanks so much! I have heard that Game of Thrones reference before but I have never seen the show. I’ll take your word for it! As for the dry time before adding the texture… technically you should wait the full 30 days to cure the acrylic paint BUT…because these paints dry very quickly and are so thin I don’t usually worry to much about waiting that long. I will usually wait about a week though for sure. In some of my practice pieces I literally did texture over them 1 day after touch dry and I have seen no adverse issues so far and they have been sitting for months… I hope this helps! 😬❤️🙏🏻🙃

    Tara, I know that Lee and Jeremy love these awesome texture pearl pieces! Who wouldn't want these unique "Pieces of Tara" hanging in their home. I poured a pretty successful obsidian pearl pour and had every intention of trying out your cool scales. But😉... I felt like painting some lines, so I did that instead😄. Its been a couple of weeks and I keep tweaking it and adding a little sumthin sumthin 😏. I still feel like it needs more, so I'm thinking about it while I work on my sculptures. One thing I know for sure, Tara scales are in my future! ☺️🐲🐲🐲🐲🐲

    Tara how do you create these cells. This my first time on your channel and I love it

    • @PiecesofTaraArtistry
      @PiecesofTaraArtistry  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you George! The cells are made by adding the extreme sheen obsidian paint to the pouring medium as a base coat and then pouring the lamp black paint mixed with the pouring medium in the top coat. It is a reaction of the heavier paint being poured over a lighter (less dense) paint. The recipe is in the description box. Hope this helps! ☺️

    Tara your scales are incredibly perfect. How long does it take you to complete one? Since they dry matte, do you spray with a varnish or finish with something else? The obsidian base with the pearls made a beautiful backdrop. Love them. ❤

    • @PiecesofTaraArtistry
      @PiecesofTaraArtistry  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks so much Paula! So the size of the piece and the amount of texture I add depends on how long it takes. So this piece…which is a diptych of 2- 20”x20” which each took about 4 hours just for the texture. That doesn’t include mixing and prepping each piece, planning where texture will be added…etc. this type of work takes much much longer than a typical pour but I absolutely love the results and am really loving the public response from it. It is feeling very “me” right now. As far as varnish… I use a Golden spray varnish. I either use the satin or the semigloss which is my favorite! 🙏🏻☺️❤️
