    Thank you for putting words to the way I tend to airbrush my highlights. I prefer the cloudy day look to the extreme contrast of a spotlight.
    After finishing the video this is the perfect video for they way I paint my marines since i have gotten an airbrush recently.

    Happy to see a new video from you! Please don’t let TH-cam translate your titles to German. I‘m sure it’s not what you want it to be and I don’t see the original title.

    OMG this is amazing. Going through my pile to find the perfect minis to experiment on. One day I'll "get good", but learning and experimenting is still always fun on the path there. Love your tutorials.

    Great video, I've been doing this a lot more with my Death Guard lately, and white ink is glorious. Outside of direct airbrushing I use it instead of water to dilute my white acrylic paint and it's fantastic

    Thanks for another great video. It was very helpful to see your spot vs wrap demo. I usually get heavy handed and over do it, so the tip about fixing it with a speed paint is appreciated.

    Speed paints make awesome color filters with an airbrush. I'm in the process of doing some Dungeons and Lasers tiles with them over a zenithal + light drybrush preshade.

    Very cool! It's almost like the metallic "candy coating" I've seen some people do in the gunpla community. Definitely will give this a try!

    I used to worship at the altar of white ink (DW, then Liquitex), but I have abandoned them in favor of Tamiya Flat White. Properly thinned, it provides much smoother gradients than white ink, and has a more durable finish. I have had acrylic inks reactivate when applying other paints over them. I love this technique though; it’s similar to what I use for Alpha Legion. I find it’s best to thin the contrast/speed paint to give yourself a little more control over the balance of metallic and color.

    Sadly, I don't have an airbrush so I typically use rattle cans for priming. I just recently got the Pro Acryl Matte White Primer and for a zenithal it has been doing beautifully!

    I call this the “Lyla Method” and you would be pleasantly surprised to see how well this works when you add streaking grime to a larger model like a tank.

    The german Title is : "Süßigkeiten Finale" , in german at has more the meaning for "final candies". Now i want eat candies haha

    What is the actual video title?

  • @Winterclaw42

    It seems like this technique is for mica-based metallics. Some companies use aluminum which acts differently for base coats as it doesn't let light through.

    So from the light source a metallic armor is blue , but from the shadows is purple? why not get a blue metallic paint from AK or some other brand and layer it instead ? what about those who dont have airbrush ? could a silver spray can , and an addition of a speed paint (blue) have similar results ???

    • @Nuffle
      @Nuffle 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      I think a spray can would likely come out too uneven and speckled, but that could give it an interesting texture. If you're looking for results closer to what Lyla got in the video then I'd suggest drybrushing the silver on and maybe diluting your speed paint 1:2 or 1:3 (maybe even 1:4) to maintain a more transparent coating

    • @Nuffle
      @Nuffle 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      If you can afford it I'd suggest getting an airbrush though, you can find relatively inexpensive kits for about 30$-50$ USD that will give good results.

  • @Tazymandius

    How would you replicate this if you don't have an airbrush?

    • @Nuffle
      @Nuffle 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      My suggestion would be drybrushing your silver on and diluting your contrast 1:2 or 1:3 (maybe even 1:4) with medium to maintain a more transparent coating.

      Stippling. With a brush, or sponge. I'd mix the speedpaint with the metallics, rather than apply it on top. But it's just preference.
