They used this in the most recent chapter of Chainsaw Man. Can't wait for it to finally be animated. The context of its use is pretty much the Free Bird solo scene from Kingsman. Knowing the mangaka's love for Western films, I wouldn't even be surprised if it ends up as a homage to that iconic Kingsman scene. Edit. Turns out the scene in the manga is actually a nod to Old Boy. Thanks to those for pointing it out!
Fair points! just watched the fight scene form Oldboy for the first time and its even more uncanny. I'd personally love to see some cinematic mashup and a homage to both films when this scene eventually gets animated.
