    Just so you know, south of San Juan river is tribal land and if you were to encounter a tribal tour while in the Chine Wash it could get pretty ugly. Be safe!

      You're correct. I stated in the vid that we had permits from the Navajo Nation. Over the years we have encountered locals and even, back in the day, a Navajo Nation Ranger!
      A funny story on one trip, we had a few Navajo's on our trip. At the put in, Linda the BLM Ranger was checking trips in. I asked one of the Navajo ladies to start speaking Navajo to the questions as the ranger checked our trip in. The other boatmen and I laid low to watch the unfolding. The ranger had a bewildered look on her face and looked around. When she saw us, laughter ensued as she knew us from run trip before. Good times! I missed the river this spring, say "hi" to the river from me if you're on a trip in the near future 😀
