@ yeah because of you I’ve been there a few times. Definitely need a little boat there at the nottaway.. I’ve heard that it’s a small pocket of the Roanoke by 85 where there’s a small diner close by, the smallmouth exists !!
@@jefftiz1 Many years ago I switched to braid and to be honest it's a pain in the a$$. I didn't catch more fish using braid and yes, if you're jigging off the bottom you can feel everything but again I didn't catch more fish. Thinking of going back to mono because all I do is cast now that I fish the intracoastal here in NC. Thanks for getting back to me.
@@jefftiz1 I always used 12 lb test on a 6' medium action with a 2500 series reel and no leader. During spawning in the Chesapeake Bay I'd catch stripers up to 50 pounds throwing gold #17 Tony spoons. Light tackle fishing has become very big over the past 20 years. No more trolling with broomsticks.
I enjoy your videos! I was hoping to see video of you coming through that last set of falls before the ramp! I bet that had a pucker factor of 100%!
@@johnxhash That last set before the ramp is too tricky for me. Thanks!
Awesome job
@@ronniefoster4418 Thanks!
Great video Jeff...
Thanks!
Awesome video
Dude do you ever run across any smallmouth bass?
@@Jontfs300 not in this river. I have caught them in the Nottaway River near Emporia VA.

@glennmcguire5571 I use 14 lb this time of year. When the stripers show up in spring, I switch to 17-20 lb test.

Is that a deep diving plug you are using this time of year
@@williampolk6696 No..it runs about 3 feet deep.
It's a shame that a river like that doesn't have smallmouth. Or Roanoke bass.
Yep no small mouth or Roanoke bass, but it does have Walleye.
@jefftiz1 aren't walleye really rare in the river though?
@jerryc3093 I have Caught 4 walleye in 5 years. So yea, kinda rare.
