Okay I now understand the appeal of those "what's in my bag videos." I don't care what's in anyone's bag, but it is fascinating to see someone else's sewing space! 🤓
LOVE the Husky work tables! I also love the little mid-century modern touches: clock, banner above your rolling cart, etc. I can see that having things this organized must truly assist in more efficient sewing. Thank you for sharing!
Love it . Clean , well organised space. Practical and all necessary things are in close by spaces. I love attics make you stop piling things on top of high shelfs and feel like in rabbits holl turn whearhouse.
After watching numerous videos of sewing room designs, yours is by far the best, most inspirational and fortunately for me with an IKEA within driving distance and a large workspace in my basement I finally found the items/design that will work for me. Thank you very much for doing this video
@@SeamworkVideo excellent idea. Timing is everything. While I appreciate organizing and rearranging, in the past I've tended to see this as 'work' and a frustration to my sewing efforts, primarily because I would put off this type of 'housework' and then be forced to do it before I could do my projects. Reframing organization and doing it when I DONT have a project in mind (or at least the urge isn't 'NOW') may change my attitude.
I love everything about your sewing space...the calming, cohesive color palette, the organization, the overall aesthetic! It's inspiring!! Which IKEA tables did you use for your cutting table? They are perfect!
Thanks! The room used to be really dark - there was only one light fixture, all the walls were OSB, and the floor was a dark brown linoleum. I'm really happy with the updates!
Hi! Enjoyed seeing your workspace and adore those tables you have your machines on. Everything looks so organized too. I also have the same sewing machine you use and love it! Mind sharing where your found your sewing tables that adjust? I would like to find out how I can purchase one. Looking forward to seeing the other's sewing spaces.
It's sold a number of places. Here's a link: www.amazon.com/Husky-Adjustable-Height-Table-2-Drawers/dp/B089VPF9KS/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=husky+adjustable+height+work+table&qid=1688073559&sr=8-4
Amazing sewing room, I absolutely love it! I’m blessed with my own room for my sewing for the first time after raising 6 kids, and it’s really nice! Just fixing it up and you gave me some great ideas! How do you find that hanging system for the pdf patterns? On another note, can you please share the pattern for the pants you’re wearing? I love your outfit! Thank you for sharing your room with us, and thank you for all you do for Seamwork! I just love it!
They're Husky workbenches (www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-52-in-Adjustable-Height-Work-Table-with-2-Drawers-in-White-HOLT5202BJ2/311742117)! I must admit, I probably should have skipped the drawers as I can't access them if I have the free-arm system on my machines. Just something to think about if you plan to buy! They are incredibly sturdy and never shake while I'm sewing.
My question is about your “bulletin board” near the sewing machines, is that a 2x4 frame with the fabric stretched over it? Or am I missing something? Your space is a dream!!!
Thanks! Those cabinets have mostly non sewing supplies in them (painting & drawing) and a mess of interfacing, so I didn't share. I like to buy fabric from Stonemountain, Blackbird, Bolt in PDX, Merchant & Mills, and thrift stores!
Great set up and you gave me some additional ideas. Can you please tell me where you got the thread chart from and what brand of thread it is for? Thank you !
Hiya I just watched your video and you are lucky you got more space than me, and I am thinking of getting a pegboard so can you remember what size did you get from ikea and your cutting table from two tables I just want to know the width and length, love you sewing room tour

Great space! I’ve been a member of Seamwork since the second to last ‘Design your own wardrobe’ I love being a part of it. I do have question about your space; I noticed that you have a large roll of tracing paper, I do too, but but what is yours attached to, and where can I get one please? Mine is so heavy, I’ve tried having it on my cutting table, but it’s so difficult to roll out, now it’s standing up on a windowsill, it’s better there, but still very awkward to use.
Of course! I'm not sure if it'll work with a roll of thin tracing paper - I have a roll of white butcher paper. Tracing paper might be too thin to use the cutter, but that does swing out of the way!
Can you tell me how you got all those bobbins onto the Ikea pegboard, above your seeing machine station? It's just like to know what the piece between the bobbins and the pegboard are, so I can purchase my own :) thank you!

Since your tables can raise, do you ever sew while standing? If so, do you have an extra long cord on your foot pedal? Love your space!
I don't stand while sewing, although I sometimes have to while filming. It hurts my hips, so I prefer sitting.
