- A little boy was caught on home security cameras entering another person's garage only to hug the homeowner's dog. Homeowner, Hollie Mallet, was reviewing her security video and was surprised. "This little boy loved our dog so much that he just wanted to steal a quick hug," she told Inside Edition. She posted the video on Facebook asking who the child is. Josh does not need to sneak into the garage any longer, as Mallet has invited him to play with Duchess anytime he wants. #InsideEdition

This is how neighbors should act. Yes he shouldn’t have went into their garage but it was innocent and kind. Instead of pitching a fit they reacted with the same kindness he showed their dog. Kindness and understanding go a long way.

I liked this comment....imagine people did "drive by hugs" I think a lot of people would be confused. They kinda did something in Chicago. A bunch of gangmembers got together and got tired of seeing people get shot so they started shooting each other with paintball guns....because it was a way to stop using guns. I need stories like this every once in awhile. The news takes such an emotional toll on me that I have to go radio silent every couple of months where I actively avoid any/all news because it has such a profoundly negative effect on me. But these little gems give me a little glimmer of hope when it comes to humanity. I know this video isn’t that deep but maybe I’m not the only one who feels this way! 💜
Same, I try to take a break from the news but I always get sucked back in and get angry and depressed. TH-cam should add a feature that let's you turn off "controversial" news and just recommend endless animal videos.

One of the sweetest things I have ever seen!
My heart breaks every time I see he has to rush to run away! The first rush was heartwarming because he was eager to meet the dog but the last act of rushing was heartbreaking because it shows his act of hugging the dog is something forbidden but luckily the kind owner makes us happy to see them get united finally.
He was probably concerned because he knew his parents taught him not to go into a strange property. He was torn.

I immediately teared up when it was said his dog died. All of us who love animals know the pain of losing them and knowing that he found this friend that helped fill that hole left from losing his dog really got me.
My old cat died last year. The most I've cried my adult life. I adopted a new stray few weeks after, the house was just too damn quiet.

I had my bunny since I was in 3rd grade and after 5 years she died. 🥺 It’s been a year, and while she was still alive we adopted our first rescue bunny, and he’s great and all but it’s not the same without my little Velvet.
I also got teary eyed. I know what that's like to lose your best friend. He dealt with it the best way he knew how. Their dog obviously enjoys the attention.
Yea after losing his best friend but finding a way to help with his pain by loving on this dog I’m really happy either neighbor wasn’t rude and not let the kiddo pet or play with dog. I’m glad it worked out for everyone

The boy's mother said their family has been pretty busy since their own dog passed on, and Josh has a lot of after school activities, so they haven't jumped right into getting a new pup. But she assures that it WILL happen, and in the meantime the he has a dog friend to play with in Duchess. With summer vacation coming up, hopefully it will be sooner rather then later that the boy can get his new puppy.

because at that age the mother always end up taking care of it. At least in my family. Now when I look back my siblings and father put a lot of unnecessary strain on her. We all loved pets and fish and we always had, cat, dog, lots of rabbits, multiple fish tanks (my bro and I took care of that), turtles, guinea pig and one day my mom snapped and we had to give the dog up because he bit me and was ultra aggressive due to neglect. She gave him to the neighbourhood kid that came daily to walk him. When I was in highschool I had bumped into that neighbourhood kid and he told me they thought us being Chinese we planned to eat the dog so he asked my mom for it and she gladly handed him over

I understand this kid completely. When my dad was a little boy, they couldn't keep his childhood dog because she'd killed a neighbor's chicken and the neighbor threatened to kill her (different times). My grandparents found a loving family for the dog to live with in a neighboring town, but my little did they know that my little 6 year old dad memorized the route to the dog's new home, and every chance he got, would ride his little bike 3 miles and play with her through their fence. Eventually my grandpa caught him, but he didn't get in trouble. He drove him to the house and asked if he could have a play date. That was the last time he played with her. I think it was good closure, to actually go in the house and see that she was in a very good home with a friendly family. And he got to have a real good bye. I showed this video to my dad and he cried and said "Oh this reminds me of me and Mitzi"
Oh, What a sad story, but at least he got a PROPER goodbye KNOWING he was in a good home and no abusing took place or no HARM. I'm glad .3.

Over time wounds heal, and as he gets older he'll be able to cope with losses more effectively. One would hope. Life is full of loss and heartbreak. My parents, two brothers, a dog, and two cats. It never gets easier. We just learn to deal with it a little better.
